Food good. Minor problems with service. Ordered 2 glasses sparkling wine as an aperitif - did not arrive until after we reminded waiter who came to take our food order. Ordered bread - did not arrive.We did not remind the waiter because by then we had got our starters and did not want the bread!

Good food, good wine, good service. Only problem: the noise level. Having to shout to be heard is not ideal. Restaurant needs more soft furnishings

Food delicious and staff helpfu. The only really disappointing issue with this restaurant is the noise levels - it is so loud you just can’t hold a conversation as yoi can’t hear what others are saying - sound deadening is desperately needed.

It was nice food, the venue was a bit to bright and didn’t feel relaxed. Your also sat very close to the people on the table next to you

Attentive and friendly service. Good food. Good menu choice. Wines and beers are all French, but still good selection. Due to being an old post office hall it is laid out in one large room, if there was a loud group of imagine it would travel easily. All in all a nice venue with nice food.

The restaurant is very well done. Food was very good ... and the staff were very courteous and efficient. We would definitely return very soon.

Superb staff with excellent service, food (breakfast) was of good quality, nice relaxed atmosphere and am definitely going again! Location is ideal and premises are kept clean.

Fabulous food, wonderful attentive service, but incredibly noisy, we could not hear each other at all, and will not go back unless they do something about the accoustics. Maybe young folk like that "buzz" but it was seriously over the top. Shame because the food and service were great.

This was my first visit and the restaurant is modern and pleasant. The service was good. We all had nice food. Personally there were a couple of things that stopped me giving a score of 6, For my starter I had a nice plate of smoked salmon but the creme fraiche over powered the taste of the smoked salmon. For my main course I had the duck which was really nicely cooked. I was looking forward to the cherry sauce but unfortunately it was tasteless so did not compliment the duck. The wine list is not the greatest and some improvement there would really help. That having been said I will certainly go back.

Lovely relaxed surroundings and great service. This was my second visit and food has been great both times. It’s become my favourite restaurant in Harpenden.

Excellent service...attentive but not overly so and a good selection of food and wine. We really enjoyed our evening very much and will return in the future.

Bank holiday visit for my birthday.. Very good food & excellent service - would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Fish Parmentier was delicious :-)

Service was very good as was the food. However it was very hot and noisy. The tables were rather squashed in too. We did however thoroughly enjoy our meal

Excellent food with a great gluten free menu. The restaurant provides a warm welcoming atmosphere and there was a wonderful buzz of conversation. Super venue for a family meal or girls night out.

Good service and food was lovely. The acoustics are not great so it can be difficult hearing what the rest of the party are saying.

As per usual attentive and excellent service. Food always of an excellent service as is the friendly and welcoming service. I visit cote on a regular basis and always happy with the quality.

Our 1st time at Cote in the evening. Harpenden branch lovely venue . Food excellent and we had a lovely experience and will certainly revisit.

Our first visit to Cote. Food was good and we had friendly staff tending to us. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Service was a bit slower than expected.

I thought that the food was average the service was ok but really overall the whole experience wss disappointing for myself and my family. The good wasnt bad but it wasn't particularly good either. Date of visit 19 April 2018

Good value on the cheaper menu, overall fairly standard brasserie food, we were by the bar so less noise but otherwise quite noisy in the main area. Service was good

Visited on a Wednesday evening. Good service, attentive but not pushy. Usual Cote menu. the old post office has been renovated nicely. Hope it does well

Excellent service and food and the pre 7 pm dinner menu is very good value. Lovely atmosphere and not too noisy. Recommend the steak frite.

When my friend asked where are my new potatoes the Waitress just raised her eyebrows. She also threw my starter so it rattled along the table. Either Cote in Harpenden is understaffed, or some of the staff are clearly under trained. When we challenged the issue we were helped by a senior member of staff and then a nice young man served us. Whilst the meal in question was given free of charge, we would have preferred to pay for it and not have the hassle. Just a point, if the dish says comes with new potatoes, I would query the description when less than one new potato is crushed and hidden under the fish. Very difficult to know it is there. The rest of the food was good, so we were sorry that this incident spoiled the evening.

The atmosphere was great but excessively noisy if you like that. The early evening fixed price choice was adequate but the last of my favourite starter had already gone. Service was under pressure. Food was good but had to complain about its warmth or lack of it due to cold plates and service delay. Like Cote Brasseries, and special touches such as the unasked for water in stone bottles, and have tried this one before but this time 'could do better'.

Food was excellent and service by our waitress was extremely good, will definitely visit again. The venue in the old Post Office was lovely too.

Lovely service and good food. Only slight niggle is that, we Did not realise service had been included, so left an additional tip. Would prefer to have been informed of this. To be fair the bill did state this.

I booked the table for my son's 10th birthday and they made it very special evening. Excellent service! Our table was looked after by a wonderful young lady called, Star! She was truly amazing from the beginning to the end. Food was excellent and the birthday boy, who was the one chose the restaurant for his birthday meal, was very impressed. We will definitely go back again for another occasion and highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you!!

Great food. Excellent service. Good value for money. Cote restaurants have a great French vibe owing to their decor. It seems they take care to select good locations, although my local Cote in Harpenden is not the easiest venue for parking.

Fabulous service. The food was of good quality (big portions!) and it is family friendly. We will certainly be going again. They seemed happy to deal with a nut allergy sufferer.

Staff and food were excellent, but the decor made for a very noisy environment ...the mirrors didn't help! That said, the overall experience was enjoyable

Excellent value for money set menu (through to 7 pm, if I remember correctly); not wildly exciting but 'did the job'. Convenient for drink beforehand in local pub and for show venue (Harpenden Public Halls). Service good/friendly. Quite busy without having to shout to be heard.

We were a group of friends who enjoyed a lovely evening in Cote last night and the food was delicious and well presented and the staff very friendly and helpful

The food was lovely I had the duck in cherry sauce my sister had pork belly which had loads of meat but no crackling. Service was excellent
