Côte Hale

Absolutely brilliant evening. Delightful service, glorious food, we all struggled to choose: so many dishes appealed. We managed puds, chocolate mousse and creme caramel very special. Hot chocolate to top a fantastic meal off.

This was a lunch time service so although restaurant was not busy the ambience was inviting. Been here before and as last time service was efficient and friendly. Food was also of a very high standard. Will return. Recommended .

Great food - as always! Professional and friendly staff. Ten out of ten. There is something for everyone on the menu - I have yet to visit a Cote restaurant that hasn't been good!

My husband and I chose 5 different dishes. Each one was full of flavour, well presented and great value. The staff were smart, friendly and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

We often dine at Cote on our frequent visits to London, they are our favourite restaurants. So we were delighted when one opened on our doorstep in Hale. Our visit last night lived up to our expectations, food excellent, service impeccable, ambiance perfect.

Had another lovely meal. The staff were 'super' attentive, perhaps too much so, we were interrupted several times to check everything was okay and if we wanted anything else.

Nice atmosphere; attentive staff. Enjoyed the food; we had fillet steak, but their understanding of the 'how well cooked' ratings is quite different from ours: my 'medium' was to me rare, and my wife's 'medium - well done' was more like medium-rare. Also we felt it presumptious that they routinely add a 12.5% service charge to the bill, obliging you to ask if you want it reduced or removed.

Food excellent but no bar area to wait in so don't arrive early. Service was good though a bit of a wait initially. Overall we liked it and would definitely go back.

Booking a table via the website was easy. Our third visit to the Hale branch, after I had a meal in London Bridge venue last autumn and then found a local branch had opened. Very good meal, excellent friendly service, good value.

Had a lovely time, the food and service was great. Good value early diners menu. I had the sea bass which was perfectly cooked. The berries and white chocolate were a lovely desert.

When we arrived at the reservation time, it seemed very busy. Greeting on arrival is so important. Its sets the scene. Very pleasant waiter dealt with us, but he was obviously trying to juggle many tasks! I know we were there on a bank holiday evening, but, ALL the specials were sold out/run out. Also no fillet steak or tuna left!!! Then the wine we selected was also sold out!!! Come on, not good enough. We were confident that it would be good as we have often eaten in a Cote, various locations. The meal we had was lovely, and the service good. We will return for sure, maybe not on a bank holiday though!!!!

Excellent food and service. Only downside was that we could hardly hear each other's conversation due to an extremely noisy party at an adjacent table. Nothing you can do about that but I would be more careful where we sit next time

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had a young baby with us and the staff were lovely with her. We would definitely come back.

Food was very simple and bland . Not worth the price at all . staff are nice and attentive but you unfortunatley its quiet expensive for what you get

Could not cope with the demand , been many times before, very disappointed as I took my son and his partner Who were home for the weekend.

Slow service, not busy but food took a while. The team did not seem to be working effectively together. Front of house put us next to a very noisy group table when they could easily have put us elsewhere. Other couples left before being served. Been 3 times since opening - this was by far the worst experience so far. Disappointing....☹️

Food excellent, as were service and courtesy. Knocked down a point on rating because out of stock of wine I selected (Viognier). Will certainly return soon.

The food was excellent, the service faultless and the wine reasonably priced; all-in all a splendid meal. We shall be back to Hale as well as going to your Islington branch. Many thanks.

Service extremely slow. Camembert starter very disappointing - mostly onion relish, very little cheese served on over crispy/burnt bread. Dessert choice becoming boring as they don't vary much each month.

Very good service and lovely food. Server was very attentive and enjoy the water on the table automatically. The French Onion soup was to die for.

The atmosphere was comfortable you could hold a conversation with loads of background noise. Service good staff helpful. Enjoyed the food thought the portions were small. Overall enjoyed the envening.

My husband and I had lunch at Cote on Easter Sunday and we had a lovely experience. The food was delicious and the service was first rate. We shall certainly be returning in the near future.

Great food and helpful and friendly staff. Even lent my husband reading glasses to view the menu! We really enjoyed the ambiance. Definitely has become one of our favourite local restaurants.

We are now regulars at Cote restaurant because it is reliably good. It is the only restaurant were we have three courses, this is because the portions of each serving is perfect, never over facing. There is always a good choice and menus are changed every month so there is always something new to try. The quality of the food is excellent as are the prices. Staff are polite, efficient and friendly. It is now our favourite restaurant in Hale.

Lovely evening out. All three courses we had were delicious and we received excellent service from the moment we arrived. Very good value as well. Definitely recommend to others.

Service was good and waiting staff friendly and professional. However there were ants on the table (only a couple, not a trailing army but enough that I kept brushing my arms at the slightest twinge something may be touching me). The food was fine but a little bland.

First visit. The food was amazing. Best pork belly I have ever tasted. Staff and service were faultless. Will definitely be back. Really good to see a new kid on the block that's sensibly priced too

Lovely bistro style meals enjoyed by self and 3 colleagues, made even better by welcoming, friendly and attentive staff, rounded off topped with a fine bottle of house white.

Booking on line was very easy and the food and service was very good. Bottle of free wine was also very enjoyable. Will book again soon.

Very good exactly as it said good value and attentive service. We'd go back again and really recommend the veal. The whole meal was simply delicious

Very polite and efficient. Good service and great food. The sea bass was swapped for hake and the staff were very apologetic that they had run out. They were happy to change the dish to suit myself and it was delicious . Will definitely be back soon

The Côte is really nicely done following the change from Hale bar & grill. Much more space and less noisy. Lovely food, great service - we will be back!

Good food and excellent service, but the menu a bit limited, so only on the list for an occasional, rather than a regular visit. Main negative issue was the 12.5% optional service charge, which we think is taking the mickey. We always leave a tip if the service is good - but like to decide how much - and really object to this being stuck on the bill - for a big party, maybe acceptable, but for a party if 2, think not! Be interested to know how many people don't spot service has been added and add even more! Sharp practice in our view.

The menu was quite varied and interesting. The quality of the food was good and very nicely presented. Service was very slow but when it arrived the waiters were most pleasant and professional. (It would have been nice to have been offered bread or rolls and butter.

Very good. Staff very helpful and attentive. Food good apart from calamari which was over cooked again. Steak frites lovely as always. Berries with white chocolate sauce could do with more sauce rather than half a jug you need more.

Poor food, good service, decor is dull, no bar. Very dissatisfied, as we live locally we expected cote to be top notch, as we experienced a great meal in London

We have very good service, in a nice and relaxed environment, with reasonable food. We just had mains but will try the starter next time.

Lovely meal with excellent service. I had the calamari to start followed by the ribeye steak. Both were very good. Will definitely be returning to Cote.

Visited with my wife and family for lunch. The food was fabulous, the service faultless and the ambiance spot on. We would all definitely be returning and we would most certainly recommend. Truly fabulous place in our beautiful friendly village.

I really like the ambience of this restaurant; it is stylish but not pretentious, very comfortable and welcoming. Tables are a good size (I often find restaurant tables for two are very small). The service is very friendly, prompt and attentive without being intrusive. And the most important thing is the food, which is excellent, and reasonably priced. The menu is very interesting and varied and now they have a vegetarian menu, which suits me. The other thing I really like about it is there is no music; many restaurants in Hale have loud music to accompany your meal, which really detracts from the pleasure of the meal. Overall, faultless, and I would recommend it highly.
