Four of us had a very enjoyable meal this evening. The atmosphere was buzzy but not too loud, the staff were lovely and the food was great. Will be returning.

Great food, service and atmosphere. The seafood is as good as the steak. Much loved by all the family. We will definitely be eating here again!

A lovely lunchtime with colleagues from work. Service was quick and efficient service and the food was excellent. We choose from the set menu, which had a wide range of choices and was good value.

The food and staff were lovely, I have marked it down as unfortunately the acoustics in the restaurant meant you could not hear people on the same table or speak which made of it less of an enjoyable experience and I would come back at lunchtime on this basis.

Excellent Service, Friendly Staff and Good Food. The free bottle of wine was upgraded as they had run out of the wine on the wine offer. Very impressive. They could have so easily said that they had run out.

Short of time so had 2 courses and asked for dessert to be brought with meal. Very obliging, friendly and efficient. Food delicious. Fish wonderfully fresh and sauce with leeks very tasty. Crème caramel was to die for - the best I've ever eaten! Well done - we'll be back!

Very nice food, lovely staff, would give highest score, but they have got my colleagues garlic bread out with not much butter on it, but rectified this promptly. Overall very pleased. Also we few of us had the 3 course meal, which they have not taken into account and charged separately for pudding.

Went for my birthday, very enjoyable, service excellent and food yum and great atmosphere! The waiters didn't make you feel rushed and left a nice amount of time between courses.

The food as always was excellent. We like the different menus, monthly specials, set menu etc. The wine list has very good wines at the lower price band and the service, whilst attentive is not over the top.

Understaffed and very slow service. We kept emphasising that we had to be away by 3pm (we had arrived at 1pm) but the poor waitress had too many tables to serve. The food however was very good except the pork tenderloin starter. Slivers of a pork concoction were not what I envisaged.

My wife and had lunch there today and, as usual, the food was excellent apart from one small exception. One of our starters included bacon lardons but these were very hard (chewy!) and rather flavourless. We mentioned this to our waiter who apologised and said he would advise his 'colleague'. When the bill was presented by the Manager he said the chef had been informed and as we were not entirely satisfied with our meal there would be no charge for our desserts. A most commendable way to treat customers and to encourage their return which, without doubt, we will!

As always, a friendly welcome for our girly lunch. We went for the set menu which is excellent value, and enjoyed lovely food, and plenty of choices on the menu. The restaurant is spacious and has a good atmosphere. Cote never fails to deliver.

We love this restaurant and have been coming here for years. I would often rate them as a 6/6, but this last visit was a 4. They were extremely busy, and unfortunately it showed. The seating felt cramped, and the waiters' demeanour was rushed. Our olives and aperitifs arrived with our starters, so they were pointless. My husband had to send his steak back as it was overcooked, and the waitress had forgotten to ask which sauce he wanted with it, which potatoes, etc. She also got our coffee orders wrong. We made no complaint as we have had so many good meals here, and yet we found my husband's meal had been taken off the bill when we came to pay, so the maître d' obviously had his eye on things, and we still walked away happy. This was only the second time in about six years of coming here that we've been disappointed- what a shame this the first review I've been asked to write- but we will ignore this occasion and come back in a couple of months, expecting great things as usual, and I've no doubt I'll be able to leave a wonderful review then.

Our visit to Cote Guildford was a bit disappointing this time. We had the set menu and my starter of salt cod croquettes was very nice. My husbands frisée salad with lardons and poached egg less so, hardly any salad and served in a hot bowl! His main of steak was fine but my "pan-fried" hake fillet with chick peas was definitely not pan fried. It arrived in a cloud of steam the way only something that has been microwaved can do. It continued steaming for several minutes afterwards until the fish was over-cooked. I've ordered similar dishes in Cote many times and they have always been as described, pan fried with crispy skin and cooked just right, so this visit was disappointing. I didn't send it back as I didn't want to leave my husband eating alone while I waited for another dish. I hope this was an isolated in in as the standards in Cote restaurants is usually much better.

Food was delicious & priced well. Service was efficient if a little 'cold'. But overall an enjoyable evening. Somewhere to sit & have a drink while we waited for our table would have been good also, but not the end of the world as there is a pub close by.

Been to the Guildford Restaurant a number of times, usually birthdays and anniversary. Wife loves the place. Excellent food and nice, pleasant atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Top marks. Will no doubt venture further one day and try out some other sites. Happy with Guildford though. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Usually love this place but this time manager was very rude to me. When we had not been served after 20 minutes and people who came in after us had, I approached him and reminded him we were there. I was very polite. He snapped at me, telling me the restaurant was very full and he would get to me. His tone was horrible. So we went elsewhere. Cau is much better.

The food was ok nothing special! When we've been before it has been much better! I had the steak tartar, which for reasons best known to the chef had been pressed in a hamburger press -very strange! The duck breast was rather dry and uninteresting although the sauce was good! The desert was excellent but you can't go wrong with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce! My wife had the ham an melon which was nice followed by haddock wrapped in ham, which was ok. Overall an ok meal but nothing special! Reasonable value for money.

We are regular customers to Cote Guildford because of the great friendly service and quality cuisine. The only disappointment recently was that, for the set price menu, the portions seem to have been reduced ( mainly the starters ). I appreciate the economic pressures, and the set price menu has always been a good deal for the same price for a long time. However, I would prefer to see the set price go up a little, rather than the portions being reduced ( although others may prefer a different trade off ) I'd add that the Hake main course, and the creme brulee ( as always ) were excellent.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere convivial and the staff very attentive. Two of our party have food allergies and it was a pleasant surprise to find a separate menu showing wheat and dairy free options. The staff were only too happy to help and advise. We will definitely return when we are next in need of a good meal out in Guildford.

Good quality for chain restaurant. Nice menu, food well cooked and delivered, and attentive service. Bit noisy but it was lunchtime and the place was full which must say something given there is no lack of competition
