As ever find Cote Restaurants staff and food are excellent. The early dinners are unsurpassed in price and quality. The menu is varied and always enjoyable. Highly recommend Guildford Cote Restaurant.
Very friendly staff, always keen to please. Food was well prepared and brought promptly. Choice of food was very varied. We rarely have a problem with this restaurant.
Good service good food and good value Lively atmosphere and busy Cote is reliable wherever you visit in the U.K. I would recommend Cote to my friends and family
Unfortunately had a few to many bones in the mackerel starter for me and this time the chicken dish on set menu was tough compared to the succulent one I had in Kingston Cote on Monday
There was a good choice of options for the set lunch menu. The food was delicious and well priced and service was excellent. Would definitely go there again.
We were greated with a warm welome showed to a choice of tables by the waiter. given a menu a enough time to choose a drink and our preferred menu. Order taken quite quickly. We chose a wine on the menu "cotes de Gasgoine" this was a lovely wine we were also give a complimentary bottle of water. Our starter arrived quite quickly. the main arrived a little too qucikly as we had only just finished our starter but what a delight we both chose the duck it was exquisite. We were asked if we would like to order our desert but requested a little time to digest our main meal. This was also delicious. I had the Creme Brulee and my husband had the ice cream and chocolate sauce. the whole experience was wonder definitely be going again.
As usual the atmosphere was great, the waiter was very friendly and the food was absolutely stunning. I would recommend the sirloin with roquefort sauce.
Our Waitress offered speedy and friendly service with no hesitation to get items we wishes for. The food was excellent and delicious both from the set menu and a la carte.
Whilst we always enjoy the service at The Guildford Cote, we did not enjoy the new main course for November, a pork fritter which was very greasy . The manager gave us a steak frites instead. The set starters on the set menu are all delicious and it was difficult to choose. The staff are truly lovely and extremely attentive
We had a lovely meal. The food was good and the service was good. The only downside is that there is not a lot of choice for vegetarians.
Everything was perfect apart from the chocolate pot I ordered for dessert which I found a bit grainy and lumpy. It felt like it separated or didn't mix well. I had it many times before and it's my favorite, but it wasn't up to scratch this time. They didn't charge for it after I complained but I didn't like the manner the manager just said "Here you are, I deducted it from the bill." without an apology or explanation. Hope it was a one-off incident!
Never have a bad word to say about this place, service is always great as is the food!
Very good food and service, would recommend and look forward to our next visit also good value for money. I don't need 25 words to describe this experiance.
Excellent service, Superb waitress, Great food. Very good wine choice. Value for money excellent on the pre theatre menu. Location for the Arnauld theatre just perfect.
Very Busy - just as well we booked. The service was good, friendly and speedy. Very reasonable red wine for £16.50 - Lagarde Rouge . Fish Parmentier was enjoyable although a little salty. My friends who were both vegetarian non fish eaters had little choice but both enjoyed their meals of Risotto Vert and Spinach and Mushroom Crepes - both also thought the portions a little small. Enjoyable desserts of Tarte Fine au Pommes and Tarte Citron.
Took my daughter for dinner that I had booked in advance. We selected the special, which included the cote de boeuf that we shared and then we both enjoyed the crepe grand marnier that our attentive and engaging waitress Eszter (intentionally) ignited. A coffee and hot chocolate finished of the evening perfectly. Although there were a number of other dinners, we were able to converse without having to raise our voices. In my opinion, Cote Brassiere has supplanted Café Rouge as the French restaurant of choice.
Cote is our favourite restaurant in Guildford. The four of us had different courses and inevitably dipped into each other's for a taste! Service is always very pleasant, courteous and with a smile. The food comes in good portions and well presented. Starteres included a black pudding with poached egg (perfectly soft centres). We had the 22oz beef to share between two of us plus a belly pork and boef bourgingnon. Finished with fondant and lemon tarte - crème broulet was a tad charred - need to think that one through. Overall, usual very high standard.

Extremely good as usual with a good voice of menu and friendly staff.
A consistent restaurant with a good menu and very efficient service.
Wonderful service and relaxed atmosphere. Food was pretty good too! If I'm having to be picky then I would say that the cassoulet could've had a whole Toulouse sausage rather than a slightly mean half, but the flavour was excellent. Check the 12.5% optional service charge though.
Excellent lunch with friends food perfect.our sea bass was excellent with fennel also our wine. I had to get up twice to let pushchairs pass so would have thought best to place customers with them at an appropriate table so as not to have to move other customers. A little more thought into seating people maybe !
In general I would award a 6 but today due to the fact that the restaurant was so full the service was much slower than normal. However as ever staff were very courteous and apologised for the delays. Food was as ever very good.
As ever never disappoints! Great food, great staff, lovely ambience - the ideal venue for a catch up with a friend, and the perfect antidote to some stressful pre-Christmas shopping.
Fantastic food pre Theatre. Great service, great choice of wine. Food arrived quickly and the waitress was fabulous. Will definitely visit it again and recommend to friends
I entertained a friend and did not want to make a fuss in front of her but I believe I was overcharged and will be writing to Cote Guildford to settle the matter. Service/food excellent as always.
An excellent meal and service. Our daughter ordered a hamburger with cheese and bacon. We were not informed by the staff that these were chargeable extras. It had on menu that these were included. Not a great amount of money........but,left a sour taste
A lively, well-run restaurant that is consistently reliable -probably the leading place to eat in Guildford. Can be rather noisy, perhaps a reflection of its popularity.
It was a very pleasant experience. The waiters were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. The food was excellent value. And what was most amazing is that the restaurant was full and yet we could here each other speak which, let's face it, nowadays is quite rare.
Excellent all-in breakfast - beautifully cooked, presented and served. I asked whether I could have smoked salmon / scrambled eggs as part of the all-in breakfast, but this was declined. It seemed rather silly as it was the same price as the other cooked breakfasts.
This is a busy but warmly atmospheric brasserie with reliably good food. We have found it a perfect post and pre-theatre venue. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food has always been well cooked and nicely presented.
Excellent as ever. Great gluten free menu with almost everything that is on the main menu. Staff are great and very helpful. Well worth a visit.
Menu was varied with interesting dishes. All delicious. Very attentive staff. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back. We’d heard that Guildford Côte was good and we weren’t disappointed.
Always enjoy going to Cotes-find it very good value for money and good food. Service is always good. Have been to the brasseries in Guildford, Weybridge, Cobham, Windsor, Covent Garden. It is always very busy at lunchtimes, a good place to meet and take advantage of the fixed set menu- good ambience in all but especially in the Guildford and Windsor ones, the later having a lovely position over the Thames.
Pleasant pre-theatre meal - staff efficient and pleasant but didn't feel too rushed. Conveniently situated restaurant but tables a little too cramped for a really relaxing evening meal.
Excellent food and good service. A good place to catch up with friends as you are not made to feel rushed. No need to say more.
great service and the food was delivered quickly and no mistakes. The staff were great and so friendly so nothing was too much trouble for our waitress.
Delicious food and great attention to detail from the waiter (I am gluten free and he was incredibly helpful, bringing over the gluten free menu for puddings for me etc).
Nice ambience, food is always reliable and the service is always excellent. It is a little noisy as the tables are close together so ask for a quest table
Excellent service and delicious food. This is the best brunch in town! Consistently excellent which is why we often return. An added bonus is the excellent value for money.

Efficient and prompt service. Well cooked food. Friendly and helpful serving staff. Very easy to use voucher for free bottle of wine. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent as always. Staff very good, menu and food quality also. What more can one ask for with good value pricing. We shall return another day
It was a very enjoyable lunch except for one thing -- the noise. This seems to be pretty consistent presumably because the acoustics are not good. Do not like having 12 1/2% service charge being added on as a matter of course.
What a wonderful evening. The food was superb and the service excellent. I would certainly recommend this restaurant without any hesitation. Already planning an excuse to return
Tables to close together big noisy table near by. Friendly helpful staff, good to be able to book on line, enjoyed meal good value for money .
Great food and atmosphere , staff always friendly and service is quick and efficient. By far one of the best Cotes in the area of Surrey
Brilliant service as always! Always attentive and pleasant staff. Thanks
Friendly atmosphere and quick service. Waiter today was very friendly, and the service was very quick. Good value for money if you go for their "Formule" breakfast which includes a hot and cold drink
Great service, hot food (always important!). We had a choice of tables and chose to sit in the back restaurant area. Quick service and a friendly waitress
Service was good, friendly and smiley but not over the top. Food was delicious, had 3 courses from the set menu, portion sizes just right. We got a bit chilly but we were on a window table, maybe sit further back.
The value was very good, as we took advantage of the 'pre-7.00' deal for two courses. The food was tasty, with the best crème caramel EVER! The service was pleasant and attentive ... BUT ... I felt as though I may as well be sitting on the lap of the people left and right. We were packed in so tightly, that it was uncomfortable and the noise level made it hard to hear my dinner companion. Shame.
