Côte Guildford

Excellent service at brunch and delicious food reasonably priced. Staff were very accommodating at providing smaller portions at substantially reduced cost. The vegetarian full English was particularly well received.

Although Cote Guildford is very good it lacks a lot in ambiance. It is very noisy and that is in the evenings when there are no kids. The staff are rather surly but the girls make up for the men by being the cheery types and making you feel welcome. The food is still well up to scratch as is the wine and we will of course go again in due time.

Visited on a Saturday which was extremely busy but the tables were too cramped and my Burger was actually burnt I was with my son and a friend so didn’t want to wait for another one. Terrible food experience.

Great service lovely buzzy atmosphere nice food. A lovely place for families early on and couples groups of friends later in the evening. Recommend you book in advance. Nice place for a relaxed easy supper.

This is the second time we've eaten here and once again the food was excellent and the service friendly, helpful and attentive. It's fairly expensive, at just under £100 for two (and that was with only one glass of wine) but we had a great evening.

Great service, they really went out of their way to give me the table I requested- a nice table by a window. Breakfast was brilliant with eggs cooked perfectly.

The food was good as usual - the cod was particularly good. The service was delightful and very friendly, but a bit slow - they didn't seem to have enough staff on duty.

Friendly and well trained staff to greet us on our arrival. Food was reliably very good though could have been a hotter. Our waiter was very attentive.

Food was really lovely - we enjoyed sirloin steak, pork belly, tarte aux pommes and creme brulee. The service was also excellent on a very busy Saturday night - the staff were very friendly and super efficient. Overall, my wife and I had a great evening.

Popular, busy, noisy, bustling place. Food is consistent and better than average. Don't like 12.5% being added as service charge though for 3 people - a bit of a cheek.

Food order was taken but then had to wait for starter when after 30 minutes I asked where it was they said it was coming but still took another 10 minutes ! They obviously forgot to put it through as saw a lot of staff pointing!

Very very busy this evening and even so the service was charming and we were well looked after. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and presented, well done to all those concerns in the kitchen,,,,,,,the creme caramel to finish was divine!

Service was slow and food was very average. The bill was the quickest thing that came! The toilets weren’t very clean either. Normally reliably good but not today.

Extremely tasty meal. But some miscommunication during ordering. We ended up getting fries even though we changed our mind about it during ordering. And I always do not like restaurants that add “optional gratuity “ to the bill... where is optional then?

Lovely food, fast service, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely would come back! Highly recommend the mussels and chocolate pot - delicious. Nothing was too much trouble.

As always, reliable and authentic. We had a late breakfast for 6 people and it just fitted the bill - may be not necessarily mind-blowingly outstanding, but you know what standard they work to and they rarely fail

Visited Cote Guildford and chose from the set menu. Good variety, soup very tasty and large portion - Pork dish well presented and tasty but a little too dry for me. I've rated Guildford with a 6 due to their EXCELLENT Customer Service .....thank you!

As ever, and enjoyable experience - consistently good food and a busy environment. Can be on the noisy side but it tends to add to the fun.

Being loyal customers to the Cote group for many years in various towns, we know the standard to expect and we know it can get a bit noisy at times. However when we visited Guildford Cote last week we were seated in small side room with a table of 10 extremely noisy women who shouted and yelled at each other the whole time we were there. This made it impossible for any form of speech at our table of 3 and frankly ruined our experience. We did ask to move but were told there were no other tables available. The food was very good, as usual and the service was also very good as usual but we will not be returning to Guildford Cote unless they can guarantee that small tables of 3 are not seated within a couple of feet of very large parties. Sorry Guildford Cote you are now off our list of eating places.

Excellent set lunch menu , lovely parsnip soup & tasty steak frites. Good service too, what’s not to like! Always reliably good whichever Côte we visit.

Went with my Husband before attending Remembrance Sunday. We had the full English, everything was cooked to perfection, served lovely and hot by very friendly staff

Very nice breakfast, just a little way off the High Street next to the castle. Prompt and friendly service. Would definitely recommend, best to book before hand.

Having used other sites of this chain we were happy to try this one in Guildford for a family celebration. We prebooked a table for 5 and were seated next to the area where drinks and coffee were being prepared and crockery was being stacked very noisily by staff which made conversation at times almost impossible. Three loud breakages by staff in the time we were there made it even worse.Even allowing for it being a busy Saturday lunchtime service was a bit slow and repeated requests had to be made. The servers appeared unfamiliar with the menu as the struggled to understand what we were ordering and even had to come back to check. The food was of a good and consistent standard but the overall experience was disappointing.

My 3 friends & I had a really lovely lunch today. Polite, attentive service, superb food and extremely good value. Thank-you very much for making us so welcome.

Very good food and service, but felt the restaurant was rather hot! However it was full so maybe why! It is an old favourite and comes highly recommended.

Very noisy and hot. Staff seemed overworked although extremely willing and pleasant. Food good- both quality and value. The hake was particularly delicious. Needs air con in back room.

Great fresh food and service very good, especially before and during the meal. They have a very reaonsably priced set menu for lunch. Have been a few times!
