Côte Guildford

The staff are always welcoming and friendly in Cote Guildford, I always enjoy my breakfast here 👌🏻

At 6.30pm on a Friday evening, it was very busy - good job I had booked. As usual, food was good, service was excellent, atmosphere was great. The only downside to all this was that it became quite noisy and difficult to hold a conversation with my fellow diner. As floors and tables are all uncovered wood, maybe Cote could invest in some noise-absorbing wall coverings?

We both had the September special of Sole Meniere which was cooked to perfection. Not over buttery with tasty capers. Restaurant was packed so we were pleased we had booked in advance.

It was extremely noisy, we had to almost shout at each other. Our starter arrived 3 minutes after the kitchen received our order and the waiter hadn’t had a moment to bring our wine. My salad was served on a hot plate. I have had much better experiences at Cote than this. The meal however was of the usual good standard.

As always the meal was excellent. The staff extremely efficient and were very patient at the start when we kept chatting to friends who we bumped into rather than choosing our menu

Quiet autumn lunch with not often meet up with family and we received the best attention from the staff in the kitchen and front of house. There was a murmur of chatter and of enjoyment from the diners.

I am sorry but although the staff were lovely and the taste of the food was lovely, I was ravenous after eating my duck breast main. I never have starters or desserts because a main is usually plenty for me.......however, the portion size in your restaurant did not equate to a main meal or quantify the price of it. I had to go to a nearby pub and order a portion of chips which I do not think is good enough. Very disappointing. Sorry, Deborah.

Brilliant attentive and charming staff. Fabulous food at fantastic value for money prices. If you're looking to have a great meal in Guildford then Cote is the place!

First time we have visit this Cote branch been to lot of others as we enjoy the Formulae breakfast. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly

Very good lunch time menu with wide choice and reasonable price. Service as always was efficient and friendly. If anything the wine is a little pricey but good quality. A restaurant chain to be recommended.

I attended the restaurant on Sunday 9th September with my family who were visiting from Cambridge. Attentive staff, great value. All members of the party had the breakfast from the formulae menu. Food was exceptional

Service was stressful staff at the Guildford Cote Have an attitude and always seemed rushed I have used Guildford Cote for years However it has changed and lacks Customer service

Very pleasant and efficient service and the food was excellent as always. I was having lunch with an old friend who I hadn't seen for a long time so we had a lot to talk about and it was good not to feel under any pressure at all to vacate the table.

Great food. Great service. Atmosphere lively but not too loud. A little cramped for space as tables very close together but didn’t really bother us. Love cote for the good quality food but not over priced.

The food is always nice and the staff are always friendly. The only issue is that the place is always too warm and very noisy

Sloppy unprofessional waiting staff. I had hoped for better having used Cote a number of times but this is the second time in succession to have received poor service. Last time they served up a gazpacho soup hot. Their excuse was that the chef was Polish and assumes all soups were hot. This time I had to tell staff to stop reaching across me to serve my fellow diner and actually walk around the table. We were not expecting Michelin star service just courtesy. They also forgot part of the order - twice.

excellent full English breakfast with fresh orange juice and a great cappuccino. Nice ambiance and staff always welcoming and very friendly.

The food was excellent and the staff were polite and attentive, the restaurant showed a high standard of cleanliness, which of course, is very important.

Popped in for a cappuccino and croissant. Speedy polite service and warm delicious croissant. Restaurant was pretty busy but we were served quickly and received attentive service. Will visit again.

Very good service, great food, hot and fresh. Have been to several Cote’s but always find Guildford to be the best, great atmosphere and staff.

Very friendly service and lovely to have a whole vegetarian menu rather than just one choice of main or starter - which is usually the case in many restaurants.

Not cheap but excellent food. Wish they would change the menu a bit more often as not much veggie choice. Nice atmosphere for a Saturday lunch.

We really enjoyed our evening at the Cote Guildford. The quality of the food was excellent, the service prompt and friendly and we will return again soon for sure.

Nice table and restaurant accommodating. Starter of pate and toast. Toast very soft and not warm. Pate was ok ish. The fish pie was gorgeous but peas looked like they’d been lying around for ages. Tasted ok though. Red Pinot noir was definitely not light and fruity as described. Should have sent back in Hindsight.

Menu and atmosphere excellent and food of high standard, well presented. Staff attentive and timely in attending to customers. On a very busy day it was a little noisy at times, but overall a most enjoyable experience.

Always have a lovely time at Côte. Amazing food, excellent service, good value and gorgeous interiors. I love French food and love coming here for a treat.

Goats cheese salad had 1 thin slice of over cooked cheese. Dish was bulked out with leaves & peppers with a slice of chewy bread topped with over salted tapenade. Should not be listed as goats cheese salad. This is the s cons bad meal I’ve had at Cote, will book elsewhere in future.

If this had been my first visit to a Cote, I do not believe that i would ever go to another. Luckily, I have been many times before and realise that this visit was an exception to the norm. It wasn't THAT busy when we arrived, but service was SO slow......we sat down at 12.45, and eventually left at gone 2.30........no coffees as we were worried about parking metre times. It was ages to give any of our orders. we were all a little fed up by the tedious waiting. Also, we were at the booth, close to the coffee machine, and the clattering as the coffee cups were taken from the clean-cups boxes and put onto the shelves was dreadful.... Sorry

Steak chewy at best, not good, don't think I will eat there again of if I do, definitely will not choose the steak. Very disappointing.

Very pleasant brunch at Cote with family, good service and on the whole food excellent. Just a shame that despite specifically asking for my fried eggs to be runny, they arrived hard and inedible however you like them. When I pointed this out they did take my meal away and returned 5 minutes later with 2 better eggs but I got the feeling I was a bit of a nuisance for asking. I don't think the lovely male French waiter who took our order knew this had occurred. But as everything else was lovely I would definitely still recommend and go again.

Pleasant atmosphere, good service, prompt attention. Very friendly staff in both Guildford and Woking. Last Saturday in Guildford I was feeling cold in the seat by the window (apparently it was the air-conditioning which cause the chill) and when my partner asked if we could have a different table. the "Maitre D" found one for us without any fuss.

Consistently good food and professional service, and the staff at Guildford are always so welcoming and friendly. My 'go to' restaurant whenever I am in the area

Our meal was hot and very enjoyable as usual. It is where I usually go with friends. I do have to say I think the wine is expensive, but all in all very good.

Delicious food and brilliant staff. As I was shown to my table I saw a lady I haven’t seen for about 11 years. The waiter just waited for me to greet her so patiently. I then met my pregnant friend for dinner. Our table waiter could not have done more to explain ingredients and make sure what she ate was safe. The kitchen altered things for her specially. Food was delicious. I love this restaurant. Never disappointed.

The service was slightly slow not quite to their usual standard but the food was well up to usual excellent standard. Ambience was great within the restaurant which I must admit is one of my favourites.

Never give maximum in any survey for any organisation. Very pleased with overall service - delivered without undue wait and quality of food good. Seated by the bar which was a bit of a distraction.

This and previous experiences at our local Cote have all been excellent with enjoyable dishes plus good and helpful staff. It is undoubtedly a local restaurant of choice.

You can’t go wrong with brunch at Côte.. great value for money and fantastic friendly service as always. I can safely say I have never had a bad experience here!

Comfortable setting, good value set meal. All meals were hot and attractively presented. Staff were considerate and efficient. A pleasant experience, likely to be repeated

Good service, didn't have to wait to order or to get drinks or food. The rib-eye was slightly tough. Rest all good. Will go again.

We have been coming regularly for around 10 years and the one thing we find is that it is very noisy and difficult to converse comfortably. I realise this is probably insurmountable because you are generally very busy!!
