Côte Guildford

I would have given 6 stars but we had to wait for our table, When we were seated we enjoyed fantastic food and service backed up by a good ambiance at a very reasonable price for a party of 8, Will certainly recommend this Guildford town center restaurant to my friends.

As we have come to expect, the food was excellent. Sometimes the noise level can be a problem but not this time, there being fewer customers than usual. Service was spot on, including flexibility with the complimentary wine - my wife does't drink chardonnay which was the white on offer.

Everything was perfect until the bill arrived. I’d had the full English breakfast package including fresh orange juice and coffee. The bill came to £11.81 but included a 12.5% service charge. I appreciate the charge is optional, but I’d not checked the bill so hadn’t realised it was already included. My breakfast was actually £10.50 and I was going to leave a £2.50 tip, but was a little annoyed that you’d taken it anyway, that there’s just left the tip as it was for £1.31.

Excellent in every way, staff were so lovely, we come here regularly and are never disappointed. No one cooks a poached egg like Cote! Thank you

Great menu and on the whole, fantastic service. We love Cote Guildford, the breakfast menu is particularly fantastic value and consistently delicious. Since it opened in Guildford, it has been one of our favourites and in the 10 years and many visits we’ve had there, we’ve only ever had 1 or 2 very slightly disappointing instances (which have been rectified every time).

The only point that puts me off vis8ting Cote is the 12.5% service charge on every bill. I realise it is optional but you feel under pressure to pay this on the final bill. The amount given should be left solely to the customer and not included in the bill.

Great staff, great food. Perfect for a pre theatre meal Guildford restaurant is a 5 minute walk from the Guildford Yvonne Arnaud. Early Bird menu is excellent value for money.

Lovely meal as always. Loved our rhubarb martinis. Great steak, good service. Couldn’t fault it!

We had a very nice evening at Cote Guildford, pleasant staff, good food and great cocktails, menu was a little limited on choices for mains but would go again!

Very attentive staff, fantastic food. The air conditioning was very cold, but they did turn it off.

Fantastic service from our Sicilian waiter. Requested a good table as we were saying goodbye to a relative moving to Russia. The staff were friendly. The steaks, moules frites and sea bass were all delicious. We had starters and desserts too. The coupe noir which is just ice cream and warm chocolate sauce is a delicious way to end the meal.

Guildford Cote continues to be our most favourite branch ,which is why we keep returning .this evening was well up to standard with the staff/ service on top form and the food splendid

Our first time at Cote for a birthday breakfast. Lovely food - Eggs Royale and a scrambled egg and smoked salmon plate - and delightful service. A High recommend

Food was absolutely amazing. Service was second to none - the table staff were very welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Very good value for money.

Fantastic service from start to finish, little waiting time for meals which was fantastic- waitresses could not do enough for us, occasionally annoying having to buy the sides separate due to the cost of a meal but brilliant quality.

Excellent lively restaurant with good choice of menus, especially vegetarian. Food well presented and delicious. Staff had good level of attention without being too in your face. Would definitely recommend.

I’m giving only 5 stars out of 6 because the only thing that I did not like was that we had only to get the Saint-Valentine menu. The problem was that I chose Cote because of their beef(it literally melts), but I wanted the beef with chips, but I could not order that because it was not in the menu. Overall, everything was exceptional.

It was a lovely meal, I liked the specials menu and my colleagues enjoyed their Breton chicken, too The creme caramel was excellent as usual. I did find it a little noisy and struggled to hear my colleague sitting on the end of the booth, but maybe that was just my hearing!

I eat at Cote regularly because the food is always really good and very reasonably priced. A very good menu that keeps favourites and adds new choices. Service is always friendly and efficient. Happy to recommend Farnham and Guildford restaurants.

Fantastic food, wonderful waitress service, awesome atmosphere, enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend this unique food experience. It was relaxing, not rushed and the food was just the right amount.

Cote Guildford is our favourite restaurant, it has the best food, service and overall atmosphere. We have been regulars for years and just love it. Thank you for making us feel so welcome with our baby, he had a great time too.

We were welcomed by staff at the door and shown to our table. Service was prompt and the food came on time. The staff continued to be cheerful and efficient and we look forward to another visit to Guildford Cote.

A wonderful welcome from very friendly and extremely efficient staff. The atmosphere is good and the noise levels conducive to easy conversation at the table. As always the food is of a very good standard with sufficient variety to all tastes.

There are always such polite, helpful and friendly staff at the Guildford branch and the food never disappoints it’s especially nice to be acknowledged whenever we dine too!

Very nice Italian waiter. Very good food. Just one comment - suggest you do not put pepper on child’s chicken breast. Apart from that everything was excellent.

The table was 1.5 hours late and we were shoved in a corridor next to a very drunk and loud party of 20. They ignored my birthday and were late with the bill. Unfortunately no amount of free bread and wine can rescue that evening.

Service was good, duck was appalling good chef would never of sent from the kitchen. Calamari breadcrumbed? Why not just dusted in seasoned flour

Really enjoyed the complimentary rhubarb and gin cocktails on arriving. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The food was, as usual, first class, enjoyed with a very good bottle of the your blush Sancerre. A very pleasant evening.

High recommend Cote Guildford, one of my very favourite restaurants. Exemplary service, wonderful location, spotlessly clean and a very nice menu. Finally a restaurant where the food isn't over seasoned - in this health conscious age it's impossible to find food that hasn't been over salted, am very happy to see they don't do that here. Have been 3 times and every visit better than the last.

Lovely meal, attentive and fast service. My husband had chicken with a mushroom sauce, I had the chicken, walnut and avocado salad. I wish there had been more avocado in the salad. We both had desserts, chocolate mousse and profiteroles, lovely. Overall very good and busy so other people think so too.

Always a good meal at Côte! Food service was fast and quality great. Seated too close to other diners and a very loud group which impacted overall experience though.

Busy atmosphere, but excellent service and the food was lovely. Considering it was central Guildford, it was also easy to find parking close by. Would definitely visit again when in the area and would recommend to others

No vegan option is a shame. I took my dad here for dinner before the theatre, and he enjoyed his steak. I had the salad with avocado and walnuts but without mozzarella. The waitress was happy to add extra avocado. When the meal came there was no extra avocado. I had salad leaves topped with two mushrooms and two pieces of small avocado (I counted). Extra avocado came on request. Overall this was a very basic salad which was no where near worth the price. Uninteresting, and composed mainly of salad leaves with no interest added. Minimal walnuts. My dads spinach side also didn’t arrive but we were charged for it. Asked for it to be taken off and they took it off along with the service charge. I think terrible practise to penalise waiting staff by taking away tips as clearly an honest mistake, so we paid it anyway as service was excellent. Overall won’t be returning as not an inclusive menu at all and obviously don’t value customers with other dietary needs. One vegan option is standard now and there are plenty of other places that cater for meat eaters and vegans alike. A shame as the atmosphere was good and service couldn’t be faulted.

I thoroughly enjoyed each of my 3 courses, such great food, particularly the lamb for my main course. Staff were very friendly and we received rrally good service. Almost every table was taken and the atmosphere was buzzing. Such a good evening, would highly recommend it.

Superb service today-our waiter was great and added to a special night out. The food was at its usual high standard with the early evening menus providing good value. All in all, a lovely family evening out for all three generations.

Friendly helpful staff. We had a slight problem with one of the desserts , however the staff dealt with it efficiently and satisfactorily. The food was declicious and the offer of free cocktails was a nice touch. The noise level rose to a rather high level though, meaning we had to shout to each other in order to hold a conversation. Lovely location in the town.
