My friend and I had the set lunch, fantastic value & the food was superb, we both had vichyssoise to start which was delicious and tasted homemade. Then sea-bass main course was sublime, very fresh tasty fish, perfectly cooked on a bed of the most buttery, creamed potato with a gorgeous slightly piquant sauce, all beautifully presented, 2 courses for £10.95, amazingly good value. My friend & I both eat out quite frequently & agreed that this was exceptional.
As usual, lovely meal well serviced and a warm and cosy atmosphere to boot. my family are frequent visitors to Cote in Guildford and we are never disappointed.
Perfect as always - guaranteed a delicious meal here. The lunch and early evening menu is a steal so make sure you arrive in time to get its.
Great service and food ! We had a lovely time, no troubles and all went smoothly. I will be going back and recommending to friends
Lovely restaurant & great value. Very friendly staff. You can rely on a consistent good standard. The early evening menus represent great value for money & very varied.
Great food, lovely ambiance, friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely recommend this place. Have never been disappointed in the five years I have been coming here.
The food was delicious and the service good but we were placed at the front of the restaurant and as the door kept being left open we were cold which spoils the evening slightly.
Prompt and very attentive service with a friendly and funny waiter. Excellent food as per usual and the seafood dishes are light and exquisitely tasty.
Very good service overall, positive environment and loved quality of food, and would love to come back again,. I wished there could be student discount available in the future.
The food was great, we were all impressed with what we ordered, however the service was a little too brisk, it felt as though we were being rushed out.
I visited the Guildford Cote with a group of friends recently and had the set menu. The food was good and Excellent value for money.
Wonderful! The waiter was utterly charming, food delicious and when they found out it was my birthday, gave me a small cake with a candle and a round of 'Happy Birthday'. Was made to feel very special! Thank you
Excellent food and excellent service. They do the best French onion soup in Guildford along with the best fillet steak. It's not but it feels like a family run restaurant with all the care and attention needed for a fine dining experience.
Very enjoyable Waiter very efficient and attentive A memorable family bank holiday Overall this was good value Went on to see nearby castle which dates from 12 century- an unexpected interesting site
Brilliant place to meet friends for a great breakfast. The food and service is worth the return trip and they are always friendly and quick to serve.
All as good as always but it was very noisy. However it was Saturday morning and everyone was out for breakfast before the shopping spree! Great breakfast.
A very good evening. The food was delicious from a good choice if menu. We were very well looked after and will definitely return soon.
The Cote Brasserie is always a reliable restaurant . We had a very good meal which was excellent value. It was a pre theatre meal and the food arrived promptly .
We always go to a Cote restaurant whenever we go to a theatre. The standard of food is always the same. - very high and we look forward to the next visit
As always the food, atmosphere and staff were great! We had the early evening set menu and it did not disappoint. Really good value and amazing food
Good food and excellent service, pleasant atmosphere and food arrived hot and quickly. Also happy that service was included on the bill and waiter came quickly with the card machine
Good quality, attentive service, topping up water and remembering what the entire table ordered when it came to delivering the food. Cote food is always of a good standard across its branches and offers a range of French food which is all selfish. Not a huge range of wines though surprisingly.
We use Cote quite a lot at various locations. I have been in several in London and around the south east. This occasion, as usual, was very good. The service and food is always consistent.
Good food. 12.5% service charge was added to our bill. Good service. They had run out of Fougasse. It was a bit of squeeze fitting all the plates and side dishes onto our little table of two.
Great service & great food! Food came out quickly and waiters were very attentive. The set lunch menu has a nice range of choices too!
We've always found Cote to be one of the nicest brasseries we've been to. I have only given this visit a 4 star rating because both our fillet steaks were fatty. Services , as always, was exceptional.
We enjoyed a fantastic lunch which was made all the better by excellent service and complete accommodation of my wife, who is a coeliac sufferer. It was her birthday and she really enjoyed herself. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food and service was good and there was no attempt to hurry us along, even though the restaurant was busy. Some tasty options on the lunch menu and once again, very good value for money
Great food, 5 of us went and everyone really enjoyed everything. The staff were helpful and the timings of the courses just right. Not as expensive as you might think either.
An excellent experience, as ever. Very quick and efficient service, but unrushed, as breakfast should be. The Formule brings together all the essential components of breakfast in a cost effective package.
On arrival received a friendly greeting. Was able to choose where we would like to sit. Had rump of lamb which was cooked just right, and my first jersey royals this year, with mint hollandaise, really lovely. Had the special for dessert Crepe with fresh strawberries with ice cream rather than chattily cream, was so nice. Although could have done with a few more strawberries as bit tight on them. Mind you it does say just 'Strawberry' on the menu. Wine was nice as well. Had red La Garenne Syrah. Took a picture of the label when last there in March as it was so good and at a reasonable price. On the whole had a lovely evening. The Staff are a credit to Cote.
Have visited this particular cote several times without any issues. Felt the atmosphere was a bit chaotic, maybe because it was Sunday there seemed to be a shortage of staff slow to clear tables for arriving guests. Food average everything was over cooked.
The food and service was good, but the noise level really spoilt the experience. We managed to be in the restaurant at the same time as a toddler having a tantrum and were at a table next to three young women who managed to shout there way through lunch. There is nothing to baffle the sound
We were a party of four and ordered burger, fish pie, lamb as well as desserts. The food served was filling and tasty, and the service was excellent!
A very good meal in pleasant surroundings. The food was of a very good standard and the service was efficient and very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant.
Always great quality food and good service. The steak frites are a favourite with my family as is the dine before 7pm menu which offers great value
Food was 8/10. I would preferred the calamari to be in a light cod-like batter. The service was exceptional, a solid 10/10- lovely waiting staff
Excellent as always. The pre-theatre menu is very good value and there is always a good choice for each course. The food is always very well presented and cooked to prefection. Friendly staff and good service.
Food was mostly very good though one of our fillets (ordered medium rare) was a bit overcooked. Service was very slow as usual at this location.
It's always good, thoroughly delicious, the staff are wonderful, helpful and nothing is too much for them. Can thoroughly recommend it and it's good value too.
Great position in Guildford. Staff always happy &helpfull. Ordered new lamb rump with asparagus, which was perfectly cooked for me, whilst daughter no 2 had grilled chicken which was great. Only criticism my wife's sole was rather dry, having been overcooked. Overall for that slip...9/10. Thanks, we,llbe back.
A busy restaurant on Saturday lunchtime, and understandably so, because food was excellent and service quietly attentive. Three of our party had the superb Breton fish stew, a mouth-watering seafood combination with freshly baked bread to help soak up the delicious sauces. Top class.
Excellent pre theatre meal. Staff friendly and efficient. Food tasty and warm. Wide menu and good range of drinks to suit all tastes. Would heartily recommend albeit does tend to get very noisy when busy.
Good food and service but I wish they wouldn't leave the front door open the whole time. Eating in a draught doesn't improve the dining experience!
Good food and friendly prompt service. We did just have a salad each but they were huge. Opening the large side windows made for a lovely cool breeze
Excellent food - the May specials menu has some really good seasonal options. The service was slick, professional, and friendly, which what I always get in a Cote restaurant.
The food and service was good, and good value for money. However the service was quite slow. The atmosphere was excellent. 😊 The whole group enjoyed the lunch. 👍 👍 👍
Food was delicious, service was great. It was a little warm despite being under the air conditioning, and personally I found it very loud - no music, but hard surfaces all round - maybe it's my dodgy hearing. But I'd certainly go again.
Meal disappointing (mushrooom and mozarrela salad). Massive over dose of cheese and only one mushroom. The cheese also looked very unappetising. This course was in my opinion incorrectly named, it should have been mozzarella first because it was largest and then mushroom. Having said that though there was more avocado than mushroom. I have eaten many, many times at various Cotes and this was the first disappointment.
Great service as always. Topped with delicious food, a great place for a relaxed Sunday brunch. Will be sure to return many a time. Thanks!
