Côte Guildford

we ordered the Sea Bass and were very disappointed as the first one was not cooked properly, the staff were very good and replaced the meal immediately but it still took the shine off especially as it was a birthday treat for my friend.

Excellent breakfast, as I would expect from Cote, who are consistently good.

It was very busy the staff were so friendly and amazingly efficient. Delicious food and promptly served and moved us to a less noisy table with a smile.

As usual great service, good menu, lovely atmosphere. It's busy, a bit noisy but very comfortable. Would highly recommend. The menu is varied and food is constantly good.

Staff were friendly and attentive.... food excellent as always. Warm atmosphere in the restaurant. Loos clean! We look forward to visiting Cote Guildford when we are next in the area.

It started off very well. The young waiter very informative and saying everything would be quick. Well the starter was. After that we waited quite a long time for our main course - a long time for the pudding even though we informed the other waiter we had a train to catch. We had to chase. so service not very good at all.

We had a very good evening at cote, dining on the special menu before going to the theatre. The staff were very efficient and the meal arrived promptly.

We had a fabulous time. The food was amazing, the wine delicious, and the service was impeccable- friendly, prompt, and personal. It's our favourite for a reason.

Not really fair to judge Cote Guildford on the day we went because they had a problem with the gas so were unable to offer the full set menu. Nevertheless we enjoyed what we had and my only quibble would be the noise level when the restaurant filled up. We were unable to hear each other speak.

The usual warm, attentive and personal service. Unusually little time given between first course and main but only a slight grumble on what was a most pleasant lunch.

Helpful and attentive staff. Flavoursome and nicely presented food. A perfect evening out to mark our colleague's retirement. I would highly recommend it to friends.

Food was very nice but 2 of the waiters were a bit rude. One telling a guest to pick it up and put in on the plate regarding a fork he had dropped and the other not listening to another guest about the meals when they were brought out regarding gluten issues, insisting he knew best. We always have great visits when we go to cotes so it was hard paying the £20 gratitude when we felt the service wasn’t up to the normal standard

The meal was excellent and the staff attentive, as always. Dining at the Côte is always a pleasant experience. We will certainly come again. Deirdre Major

Cote Guildford is a firm favourite. The lunchtime menu is particularly good value and the service cannot be faulted. A safe bet, and very good value.

Really lovely food once again, service impecable and very, very good value for money on the set lunch menu. :-) The staff have that correct mixture of politeness and charm.

Great staff, great food and really relaxed atmosphere. If you like French cuisine, French devotion to good food and attention to detail you cannot do better. The service does not feel like a chain offering. It feels more like a Michelin star restaurant without the hype. 10/10

Great, food, friendly service. The Breton fish soup is to die for. The restaurant has great ambience, lively early on a Saturday evening. Ideally placed, 3 mins walk from the Yvonne Arnaud theatre, for a pre-theatre meal.

I usually eat at Cote in Farnham but eating in Guildford Cote was just as tasty, with the usual good service. Never disappointed by a visit!

We had a very enjoyable brunch this morning. We all chose various combinations of eggs and coffee which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and efficient!

A busy atmospheric little place good service and varied and good menu. Only thing with it is the noise but then that applies to all our local cote restaurants but does not deter too much from the experience.

God service, good food. Excellent choice included in the fixed price breakfast menu. Nice location opposite castle gates in central Guildford. We enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast.

The service was brilliant and the food delicious, what more could you ask for! We will definitely be back hopefully in the next few weeks.

This is my third time at Côte in Guildford since December 17. Once again an excellent overall experience. The three course day time set menu is great value, with no compromise on the usual high quality of the food at a really good price. Extremely good service from friendly staff. I will of course be back again soon.

After a somewhat underwhelming experience at Cote Brasserie in Oxford, it was nice to see things are on top form in the Guildford restaurant. I had lunch with my youngest goddaughter and her friend (during a break from shopping) and found all three courses very well cooked and delicious. The service was courteous and prompt without being intrusive. Not the cheapest in the world but all things considered, pretty good value.

Excellent and friendly service. Food was very enjoyable. We had a small issue with food temperature which was sorted without a fuss and did not make us feel at all awkward. Would highly recommend.

Came for our Xmas party and as always we all had a wonderful time. We had a tight time schedule and all the food was out on time and delicious as always.

Great food and attentive service as always. We go to the Guildford restaurant a couple of times a month and we’re never disappointed. For a chain restaurant the food is always good quality. It’s always busy and you need to book if you go at the weekend.

As always food very good, however service was not as efficient as I have come to expect in Cote, appeared to be rather short staffed.

Excellent service even though the restaurant was very busy. Food appeared in good time and was the usual high standard. Always reliable no matter which Cote I dine in.

As ever a wonderful evening at Cote. I spilled my drink (waiter nowhere near us at the time) and they gave me a free refill. Service is always delightful and they never harass you and we often sit through three other sets of customers at the adjacent tables and are never made to feel that we are taking up their table.

Great food - the crab mayo starter delicious. Service prompt & attentive. It didn't get full marks as the table position was a bit cramped, otherwise great!

Food was great but service good only at the start. Felt a bit 'forgotten' after the main course... 12.5% tip automatically added to the bill for just two people is far too much.

Fabulous meal and great service. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Lovely starters and great steak expertly cooked to perfection. Finished with creme brulee. Good wine too.
