The special 3-course menu was excellent. The welcome was very friendly but the waiter could have smiled once or twice! Very efficient though and will certainly be back.

Lovely food and service. Special starter was delicious - like a prawn cocktail but with creme fraiche dressing. Gorgeous!

We go to the Cotes in Guildford quite often because the service is always good. Last weekend we received a phone call letting us know there was a problem with the gas so we could not have cooked breakfast. We still decided to go because we were meeting family there. The bill was as much as we would have had cooked breakfast but we we're no where near as impressed. The pastries were undercooked and we were surprised that we weren't offered at least a complementary drink for the inconvenience.

Excellent service and food. Staff very friendly. Only thing was we booked a table at 9.30am and place had loads of empty tables. We asked if we could have a round table with 4 chairs to give us a bit more room, but we were told no, as there were bookings for groups of 4 coming in. Quite understood this and it was no problem, but then a number of groups of 2 came in after us and were allowed to sit on table for 4. Just annoying!

Sadly, for the first time, I have to say that our visit to the Guildford Cote was disappointing. I had booked a table for 7.45 and said that it was for a 15 year olds birthday. On arriving, at the same time as another table of 4 who were in front of us, we were offered a table right in the middle where everyone stands waiting for their table and has waiters and customers brushing passed all the time. The first table had refused it for that reason and we then did as it would not have made a comfortable and relaxed evening. We then waited 20 mins (standing) for a table to become available. We were offered complementary drinks (though, as I was driving, I didn’t have one) but that didn’t really make up for the fact that we had to wait that long. It’s clear that they had overbooked and hadn’t, at that time, read the fact that it was a birthday meal and that a table right at the entrance of the restaurant wasn’t appropriate. It was a special occasion. Once seated, we then waited for quite some time to be offered a drink or bread and olives while we waited for our order to be taken as the staff were clearly too busy. The food was it’s usual good standard but it had taken a while to de stress after a chaotic start to a birthday meal.

Good experience especially with 4 glasses of kir to start with due to one of us going a la carte

every thing was fine except for two dogs sitting on customers chairs being fed at the table are the chairs going to be disinfected after i dont think so i am a dog lover but i dont think it is right for dogs to be fed at the table not very hygienic is this the restaurants policy and is there a sign saying so

Breakfast up to usual standard of excellence and coffee for two offered when no single coffee pots available as ordered, good customer relations.

Good atmosphere and great service. Wine was good. The complimentary special cocktail was undrinkable. I chose the haddock goujons and they were absolutely tasteless. Tartare sauce and accompanying peas were ok but I definitely wouldn't order this dish again as I really didn't enjoy the main part.

We visit Cote at Guildford usually once or twice per month. We keep coming back because the food, service and overall experience is excellent. On the odd occasion something is not quite right ( not on this visit), it’s quickly resolved. Well done to all concerned and we would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. I do advise booking as they are usually quite busy.

A guaranteed nice time. There was a guy with glasses and a beard who was great. Plus our waiter was spot on too. Always a lovely time.

Food was fine but table for two was cramped against an outside wall. However, the service was good and it was an enjoyable evening.

As always, the food and service was excellent. I'd like to pay 10% service charge, not 12.5%. It was very noisy due to a full restaurant - but also we were right next to the coffee machines! This didn't seem a problem at first but once the restaurant filled up, it became difficult to hear around our table! I'll book a different table next time. Those problems won't put me off Cote in the future though.

Have visited a few times and it’s always a pleasant place to meet friends for lunch.

Had the seabass which was delicious accompanied by the house white wine.

Great flavour food, with fast service. One of our go-to restaurants as it is so consistent. The time we selected meant a switch over of staff so the faces changed a bit

Excellent ...as usual! The front of house staff are always so welcoming and its lovely to see so many of the servers have been working at Cote for a long time. We love the different menus, which is great for people like us who eat regularly at Cote.
