Côte Godalming

A very decent Cote restaurant in a beautiful setting. The building itself is picturesque and the table layout is well thought out as the tables are not too close together so you can relax. Outside seating looks good although we ate indoors. Tasty food the seafood linguine was my favourite, friendly and attentive staff, we had the wine on the specials list which was also good and reasonable in price. Thanks will be back.

Staff are charming and helpful. Great food and great value for money. Service is first class. Silly mandatory requirement for 25 minimum words for this report!

Service quite slow despite not being overly busy. Food was still delicious and theye have good deals. The free glass of Kir Royal was very nice. And atmosphere is great too.

First time visit to Cote Godalming and loved it. We sat outside at a quiet table. The food was brilliant and service was exceptional especially from our waitress Abi

Godalming Cote is always a good place to visit. It has good food and friendly staff. The prices are reasonable and a it's nice environment in which to eat.

Always a nice experience. The steak frittes is the best. The crumble dessert is also fab whether apple or peach. The set lunch is great value.

The food was excellent and the service fine but you might like to sample a glass of your Merlot which was purchased by both my guest and myself and it was a little "sharp"? Thanks for the complementary Kir Royale which was much appreciated.

Lovely dinner out with my friend, the early evening deal makes it very affordable. Delicious food and lovely staff, great variety on the menu too.

Our first visit to this Cote - nice setting / ambiance - nice staff and service - the edge to the meal was taken off by an indiffferent omelette main course - pity -

Great evening sitting outside in a pleasant environment, great to get that option if the weather allows.. Service was prompt and pleasant to all the surrounding diners.

Excellent service, great dinner with my wife and baby daughter. They found a comfortable table for where my daughter could be situated with her pram. Food was delicious, for a good price.

Food very good, service great but oh so noisy! Whatever happened to keeping your voice down so that other diners can enjoy their meal without being bombarded with other people's conversations?

As always First class service and first class cuisine for a reasonable price, we will be back many times without any doubt. Thank you very much

Food service etc all good but couldn't have a proper conversation as guests at adjacent large table were so noisy. Never been a problem before but certainly was tonight.

Lovely to sit outside and eat. We felt as if we were abroad. The food was delicious although my steak could have been a little hotter. We had a great evening and would definitely go back. Very good value and tasty food.

The main components of the food (duck and chicken respectively) were lovely, but the greens were far from fresh and the pastry dessert was far from crisp

Unfortunately it was very poor. The service was dreadfully slow from start to finish. Over 2 hours to get a main course which was not up to Cote standards and a lukewarm coffee! We had ordered dessert but after 20 mins wait cancelled it. The manager dealt with the situation well but too late. So although the evening was heavily discounted we would rather have had a pleasant experience as we do in Cote Guildford.

Food was delicious but service was devastatingly slow. The waitress was very apologetic and took the dessert costs off the bill. Shame she had to do that though.

Friendly staff, excellent service and tasty food in a nicely decorated restaurant. Very good value on the early evening menu, so all in all a lovely evening out.

Lovely day. Sitting outside, and the food was very good indeed. The service, as usual, was excellent and we had a very unhurried lunch. Definitely recommended.

It was nice but not as nice as previous visits, didn't get side order beans until finished dinner so no point- didn't charge us though for them. Some of flavours a bit confused, had lemon brûlée but still used vanilla, should be one or other, didn't taste quite right

Terrific meal for our family of 4 and great service too! The bread, starters and all our main courses of a great standard of food. The house Rose wine was lovely too!

My husband and l were really keen to try out the Cote restaurant in Godalming for our anniversary. As the Cote restaurant was where we went on our first date. The food was really nice and it was served quite quickly. The staff were friendly and the cost was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it, l would like to go there again for either breakfast or lunch.

Usually love Cote - but we ordered a double steak tartar as a main, they delivered on 2 plates - not quite what we expected

Last Friday my husband, daughter and I had a very enjoyable lunch at Cote Brasserie in Godalming. The food, service and surroundings were excellent. I should like to thank and praise the staff. My husband's walking stick was unfortunately taken in error by another diner. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They surprised us by purchasing a new stick from a local shop to enable my husband to walk safely back to the car park. Service above and beyond the call of duty! Our grateful thanks - your kindness was much appreciated.

Excellent service but overall not a good experience. We were seated in the large room at the back and it was noisy due to several parties.

Very wide choice of very good quality food. Service very friendly and helpful. A little noisy and there was a problem with the cooker in the kitchen that caused a delay in serving the main course. Not excessive and compensation offered without prompting. Would certainly go back again.

Lovely meal great service. Not a fan of added on service charges but they happily removed it. Recommend this restaurant for any occasion or just a meal out

Very nice evening. Enjoyed the free Kir Royals. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It's just a shame they do not provide free bread on the table, as per real French restaurants. However no other complaints about food or drink.

The service was great. Had formule breakfast which was delicious and great value for money. Would definitely recommend for a filling, tasty breakfast that is great value for money.

On arrival we were made to feel most welcome and guided to our table out in the open sunshine.The food was excellent in all areas value for money.Would recommend a visit as soon as possible.

Nice warm atmosphere and friendly staff. In fact when we arrived my partner asked if it was possible to have a seat that was more comfortable to sit on (due to his poor health) and without question sought to find if it was possible to help by looking and offering availability of seating available. We were very impressed before we had even looked at the menu. Nice to be given the choice of water free of charge which makes for an added bonus. The food was superb and a good range of choices. We will be returning.

Excellent service and food to host my son and daughter in law on their flying visit from the USA. It was very pleasant sitting outside on the terrace.

This was okay and the food predictable , though the Stek looked bit pale, and served in a reasonable time. Not as well tuned yet as Guildford. Good value.

Good Sunday lunch with our friends and they also thought it was a good meal. Some confusion over menu's as the mid-week special lunch menu + Specials + Sunday specials on double sided printed sheets got us a bit peeved. We love Cote and use your venues whenever possible however this Godalming branch seemed a little tired last Sunday.

Great meal at Cote Godalming. Good service and excellent food. I had the salmon fishcakes - excellent. My husband had a fish pie which he enjoyed. Good wine too.

Whilst I would like the Godalming cote to succeed I have complained about the poor food preparation and food standard since its opening in October 2016. Today was no better. The 'freshly made' crepe (on the Specials menu for desert) was stone cold and out of a packet. The 'fresh' strawberries were not fresh and the chantilly cream was from a spray can. When I returned this dish (and that of my friend) and challenged the 'freshness' the waiter had to admit that the crepe was not freshly made, but pre-packed. We received free coffees.

We have been before and had a good experience but today was poor. Coffee luke warm - no cutlery for one of the people on the table, we had to get it from another table. Not asked if we wanted any sauces etc. - no butter came for toast - toast wasn't toast -just warmed bread. Just a lot of silly little things that should have been sorted. There wasn't an experienced person who was on the ball making sure everything ran smoothly. The breakfasts were probably 6/10 - it was a shame as we were there for a Birthday breakfast.

Quality of food and choice of dishes excellent. Service efficient, welcome curteous and friendly. Wine choice wide with helpful descriptions. A good range of by-the-glass wines so not limited. food is apetizing and ingredients fresh. Vegetables thoughtfully prepared. Desserts classic but very tasty. Monthly "specials" provided some pleasant additional choices to the standard menu.
