Côte Godalming

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very nice and the complimentary bottle of wine, courtesy of an offer received by email, definitely hit the spot.

This was my first visit to Cote in Godalming and we sat outside. Cote restaurants are my favourite because of the consistent good food and service and gluten free choices.

Great as always !! Be back soon , our mum was delighted!

Took about 20 minutes for our hot drinks to arrive, and had an issue with the wasps outside. Lovely food

We enjoyed our visit to Cote as we always do.

Breakfast at Cote. A truly civilised way to start the day but the restaurant was really cold. We should have asked for some heating but didn't, instead, arrived home fairly chilled.

The cote de boeuf for 2 was average This let the whole meal down, otherwise it would have been 6 stars for everything

We always enjoy a meal at the Cote, but I find the noise level too high. We go back, because the food and the service is usually good, and we enjoy ourselves.

Excellent early evening supper with children. Activity packs were great distraction but the food was the star. Everyone had what they wanted and enjoyed, from the six year old who only wanted saucisson, toast and ice cream, the seven year old who ate an adult burger plus ice cream to two very satisfied and relaxed adults. Thank you!

Excellent meal again, as always. Slight wait for drinks and one starter delayed by being missed off order.

Pretty good lunch from the set menu. Poached egg was more hard boiled with the mackerel starter but linguine with moules was very good. Ratatouille with goats cheese nice followed by the sea bream But still felt hungry after. Same staff as always a tad disappointing they don’t seem to recognise us as we visit regularly!

Great experience, will definitely be back in the near future

We were disappointed, having been to the Guildford Cote and been very impressed, this fell short of a good experience. Starters were OK in general but mine, (crab mayo), came with two unexciting pieces of rather over toasted ciabatta which were hard. My partner had a chicken salad which was a bit tired and the chicken was hard. A friend had the Tuna Nicoise - sadly this was covered in much too much dressing so it was a bit sloppy although the tuna itself was fine. Our waiter wasn't very welcoming - he could have learnt from the waitress who helped at the end of the meal and who was a lot more willing. Oh and it does make me smile when we are told we have complimentary water for the table! I should hope so.... Overall it was not the best experience and although we have been to the Godalming Cote before we probably won't go again.

My glass of wine was oxidised but was changed without question.

The air con was a bit high, but the service and food were the usual excellent standard we have become used to at Cote. The complimentary aperitif could not be faulted. We will soon be back!

Good service. Great breakfast. . . . . . .

I usually love coming to Cote but this time was a bit underwhelming. We were seated in the busiest part of the restaurant- other areas were still quiet and felt squeezed in although we booked ahead. My steak was over cooked which was replaced quickly but then undercooked ( I was expecting Medium rare) Our waitress was lovely but when we’d finished our mains didn’t see anyone for 10 minutes- eventually got up to pay the bill ourselves. Not the usual Cote experience I would have expected.

The wait between ordering both the first course and the second was very slow. Had to call for someone to bring the dessert course. Thought the optional service charge was steep - 12.5% as opposed to usual 10% - and while optional one would really have to make a point of reducing it or not paying it. The dessert when it came was very good.

A nice summery lunch. Food cooked very well and was very relaxing in the restaurant. Was also cool inside which was great on a baking hot day.

We had a voucher offering a free bottle of wine if at least two people in the party ordered a main course from the a la carte menu. The manager would not let us use this offer because some people in our party had ordered from the set menu even though at least two of us had ordered from the a la carte menu. If we had split the bill into a la carte and set menu then we would have qualified for the offer. I was not impressed with the attitude of the manager who was not even willing to discuss the issue.

As usual, an enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings. Although it was a very warm evening we ate inside because there was a problem outside with wasps. We were warned about this when we arrived. Fortunately we were able to eat in a part of the restaurant that has real windows.

The service was outstanding. Very friendly and attentive staff which really lifted the evening. The food was plentiful, well cooked and presented. We had a lovely night and will definitely be back.

The food was perfectly cooked and we had excellent service from start to end. Only negative was the air conditioning was set far too high. I was glad I had a jacket to put on.

Great set lunch today whitebait followed by the haddock fishcake finished off with cheese. Just what was needed! Attentive staff too. Thank you.
