Côte Godalming

Great food although there was a mix up on our order. Staff apologised and rectified the situation. Error was handled professionally. Will go back as good menu suggestions

Just great as usual. Always the same great service, I just wish that the mains would change a bit more often but still good food.

We ate outside on a slightly chilly day, part of the time on our own. The service was rather slow and one of the three dishes was a bit over-cooked.

Great location and ambience. Consistently good food, combined with excellent genuine service. Pleased with having such a restaurant in our town, serving thankfully not more pizza and pasta. We have plenty of that!

Lovely food, nice atmosphere, took advantage of cheaper early evening menu. We always forget you need to order vegetables separately here - until the plate arrives!

Very good value lunch. Food was quick to arrive but not too quick. Mains were tasty and we'll cooked. I am a regular and have never been let down.

A very good experience. Good service, good food and nice environment especially at the front of the restaurant where we particularly like the lighting and atmosphere. Looking forward to going again!

This restaurant is converted from a Doctors surgery and is in a lovely old detached building. The interior is very spacious and quite cosy. It is the nicest Côte I have been to. I am always happy with the menu. The only thing I don't like is that the service charge is automatically added to the bill.

Food tasted delicious. Would have scored higher if the food temperature was hot. Asked for more sauce, so different gravy was brought to the sauce originally on the dish. It was lukewarm. My chicken dish came with six beans. I'm not the biggest eater but six beans is poor!

Lovely breakfast and great value when you opt for the formula breakfast. Staff very friendly. Definitely need to book including for breakfast though - but worth it!

The food was very good and the service was excellent. It was altogether a very enjoyable visit to this beautifully refurbished building and well-run restaurant.

It's always good at Cote and today was no exception, my sea bass was perfectly cooked. And the free bottle of wine didn't come amiss!

Nice service, good value two course special lunch menu, nice décor. I'm a bit Cote fan. Guildford is more buzzy than Godalming branch. Will return.

Standard of food and service is consistently good. I am a regular customer and am never disappointed. I do not expect Michelin standard here but a tasty menu and a varied one. Cote delivers both.

The food we ordered was delicious and the service was good. We were impressed with the choice on the gluten free menu. When it came to pay, however, that was a little slow and our special offer had not been deducted from the bill (but rectified straight away with an apology).

It took ages for our orders to be taken and then quite a while for the food to arrive. There didn't seem to be enough staff and we were left for ages without drinks. When the food arrived it was lovely and they have a great gluten free menu. So 50/50

The resturant was quiet with an inviting ambiance and gently lit for an early evening meal. We were shown a nice table by a front facing window and given complimentary table water. I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc La Place that was offered as complimentary wine as part of the Cote loyalty scheme. Although there was some confusion as to if this was “on the computer” this was quickly resolved. I had a starter of smoked salmon which was beautifully fresh and nicely served with toast and then choose an autumnal Beef Bourguignon which was served with garlic mashed potatoe and was deeply delicious. My partner had the Charcuterie board which was fresh and just the right size, followed by Breton Fish Stew that I was prompted imformed was to become a new favourite. A friendly Brassiere with delicious food - highly recommend and will be returning (and returning!)

Disappointed with food. We had the same dish in Côte Cambridge two weeks ago which was great. Unfortunately the Godalming restaurant dish was no where near the same standard.

As usual, we had an enjoyable meal at Cote, Godalming. The food is always delicious. We had quite a spread of dishes between the four of us and all were beautifully cooked and presented and full of flavour. The ambiance was good - quite busy, but not too noisy. Our only niggle was that although the staff are generally very attentive we had to ask for the bill and then go to the desk to pay as no one came to take our money! As it was quite late in the evening by this time a little more attention to detail here would have been welcome.

Excellent food. The staff were all very friendly. The only criticism is we would have preferred a more leisurely service to enjoy the good food.

A wonderful evening, great staff, delicious food. Highly recommended. We had the grilled chicken and the calamari starter, both were amazing. My favourite place in Godalming

Lovely building, food excellent, staff friendly look forward to going again soon, no one rushing you, very laid back atmosphere. House wine good lots of choices.

Once again Cote's quality of food and service was excellent. Love the conversion from a Doctor's Surgery, a really impressive restaurant. Our favourite in Godalming.

Another good meal at Cote Godalming........always go for the set menu before 7pm......never disappointed! Staff always friendly and efficient. Tables well separated from others. Good!

Enjoyed our lunch. Only downside is a fundamental discomfort with the (amost assumed) 12.5% service added to the bill. I appreciate that it is shown as voluntary but would be better "suggested". I almost invariably add service but would not normally go to 12.5% unless the service was outstandingly good.

Nice meal, good service, pleasant atmosphere and not noisy. Enjoyed the complimentary glass of Kir for my birthday. All good value. Thank you to all concerned.

the whole place if excellent.. the ambience, the welcome, the service.. plenty of French atmosphere and style as well as in the excellent food... every time we go there it is excellent and the two-course price is very competitive.

Excellent evening. Very good service, wonderful menu. Only 'gripe' was, as the resturant filled up the noise became unbearable. Maybe wallpaper of sorts to absorb some noise? Otherwise first class.

Good food well cooked and presented. Good table service. Noisy environment which detracts from the ambience and a selection of (just French) wines. Yes it's a "French" style restaurant but a wider wine selection should be offered. OK but for the price not fantastic.

Lovely setting. and atmosphere. Staff were attentive until we wanted the bill. Disappointingly, the grilled chicken in my chicken and walnut salad was very dry.

From the greeting on arrival to the layout of the old doctors medical practice to the service whilst eating, and the superb food, couldn't be better.

Food was delicious, venue is very clean and modern and the staff were very friendly. An enjoyable evening catching up with friends over food and drinks.

Cote is my favourite chain but the Godalming branch not at the top of my list. Staff not as friendly as other branches, service sometimes slow and the bill was wrong - offer not taken off. Food good but not great. As always though, good value for money.

We enjoyed our meal very much. We think it’s a very good idea that kitchen staff come out of the kitchen, carrying the heavy tray.

Excellent service. Good selection for lunch menu's . Slight misunderstanding get with side dishes was rectified easily. Essential for staff to understand if a customer says "no cheese"it's because person is allergic so needs to know if ANY CHEESE is included in the recipe.

Service cannot be faulted very attentive polite and accommodating. However watch out for the formulae breakfast deal it does not quite work how it should!! Although optional look out for the 12.5% service charge can pump up the bill and hard to not pay it due to good service!

Another very nice meal at Cote Godalming. Good service and a really reasonably priced three course lunch in this charming old building. Plenty of parking nearby.

We had the seasonal specials and each dish was lovely. Good service as ever. It was quite noisy though.

Lovely atmosphere. Welcoming staff as always, but today we had a few mistakes - all resolved. Hence the rating. Food was lovely so still came away happy.

Usually very Happy with service but this last time we were seated round a corner on arrival and it felt like out of sight out of mind as we had to go and ask eventually if we could order the food.

Good service and food. Friendly staff on arrival, we were able to choose where to sit. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was beautifully presented and hot. Delicious!

Good meal but found the set menu very limited for my diet at the moment and the risotto was a little bland. Otherwise service was good and usual standard of Cote

Lovely restaurant with lots of quirky little areas. Service staff were excellent and not in your face every 2 minutes. The food was delicious. We had the roasted pork belly which was superb. As was the creme caramel! What more is there to say! Highly recommended!

We all enjoyed our meals on Thursday although my daughter and husband thought the calamari had rather too much coating of breadcrumbs. It wasn't like that on a previous visit. As usual the staff were very friendly and helpful. A very nice place to visit.
