Côte Godalming

Excellent food and service as always. Only criticism my first choice of mains was not available as they had run out probably due to popularity.

enjoyable evening with our friend and the service was very good and up to the usual high standards which we expected. the set menu had a really nice choice

The staff were great. The pear starter was basic and I felt I'd chosen badly. The fish cakes were ok. My group of 4 always go to a Cote for lunch when we meet up which is about 4 times a year. Two live near Henley, I'm in Bramley and the other friend lives in Sussex near Pulborough. We have visited so far, Horsham, Farnham, Windsor, Marlow, Guildford and now Godalming but we all felt that Godalming had the least amount of atmosphere. I know you've only just opened so I'm hoping that that is the reason but I really would like it to be successful as that is the nearest and most convenient one to me. It hasn't put us off though as we are already planning to visit the one in Henley (if there is one) or maybe one nearer to Sussex.

Simple and easy to use. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had s fantastic evening at Cote in Godalming...sooo relaxing and excellent service. Recommended for sure.

Nice place, nice staff, great manager, not to expensive and it is big enough that you can get your favorite table most times. I hope they keep the formula.

Always does as you expect so reliable and I frequently eat here and meet friends.

Excellent evening out. Great service and a lovely meal as have had on previous occasions and are already looking forward to our next trip to Cote.

Disappointing service from the start, warm apéritif. Main course was very teary and well cooked, but the free wine given when signed up to the newsletter was quite unpleasant. Disappointing dinning experience overall.

Given a really romantic table - lovely setting, great service with a charming French waiter, delicious and well-presented food. Perfect date night 5 minutes drive from the kids and babysitter!

Almost perfect celebratory evening out with girlfriends! Welcome and service by staff, fab, including our complimentary Kir Royales as was my birthday. ‘Our’ corner table suited us perfectly as out of the way and very comfy. Early evening menu offering usual varied, good-value choices-we always can find something to suit us. When it came, all food great, particularly thoroughly enjoyed Breton chicken salad. All managed to squeeze in puds, that were perfect. Felt no pressure to leave so enjoyed a brilliantly relaxing evening and only thing to stop a perfect score was the bill initially included a charge for the Kir Royales-removed speedily. Can’t wait to return!

Environment is excellent, service is also. However, sometimes the mushrooms and tomatoes could be hotter in the full English breakfast. Otherwise the experience is excellent.

Not great. Both had Tuna nicoise which was starter size but main meal price, not an anchovy in sight. Service quite surly and a bit rushed.

The food was really delicious and the service was prompt and polite. This was the second time I have been to this restaurant and i would definitely go back.

The joy of Cote is the simple fact that you can get a reasonably​ high standard of food and service that comes in a consistent package wherever you might happen to be. Always good, always good service.

Excellent service and very good food. Perfect for post Theatre eating as we were served promptly. Both courses were delicious and sensibly priced. Good choices on the set menus too.

Food excellent, would certainly recommend. However, felt rushed by waitress. She also asked if we wanted change from cash for bill - even tho a 12.5% service charge included in bill. Not good!

We eat here regularly and as usual the food was really good and the service excellent. We will be back again this time for lunch and/or breakfast.

We had a really lovely time at Cote, the food was delicious. Its an amazing building as well as it used to be the old docotors surgery.

Godalming Cote provides good food and excellent service. The early diner menu is especially good value and the dishes on this menu regularly change so you never feel you have a limited choice.

Great setting and very friendly staff, had steak tar-tare to start - brilliant, and a sirloin for main (wife wanted rare and got medium), I wanted blue and got medium, but the flavors were great.

Very nice food only one complaint though is that roasted duck main dish was under cooked apart from that can't fault the food and service

The food for all our main meals was well below the standard you would expect from Cote. We sent back one main course and should have sent them all back. Not good. We won't be going again anytime soon.

Good food .Attentive and helpful waiters and pleasant atmosphere although at one time the background music was a bit loud fo one of the party.

Welcoming and friendly, the staff were attentive but not overcrowding. The restaurant was warm and comfortable on a cold,wet, day, and we all four enjoyed the food we'd chosen. Thank you Cote.

The waiter was rather over zealous and hence a little intrusive and annoying, so it was not such a relaxing, enjoyable time. The food was good.

Brilliant meal. Evening well spent, staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend to anybody to book up for a meal at Cote Brasserie in Godalming.

Lovely cheerful reception on arrival. Shown a choice of tables and soon afterwards ordered drinks. We both had the leek and potato. Rich, creamy and delicious. My husband then ordered the Breton Grilled chicken and I, the Risotto. Both meals were delicious. This was rounded off with apple crumble and I had Creme caramel. My favourite, as it is the most creamy I have tasted. Just a couple of points. Please could the chef cook the French beans a bit longer. Al dente is fine. Almost raw, isn’t. Coffee and mint tea took a little longer than perhaps we would have liked, but all in all another really enjoyable visit.

Amazing food cooked to perfection best meal out in ages, red wine was cold could have done with being warmer but nice wine Please keep duck confit on the menu amazing 😉 Staff could of known a little bit more about the dishes as a few questions they didn’t know but they went and found out, found they really cared about our experience.. top marks xxx

We went for a late lunch at 3.45pm when the restaurant was very quiet - lovely and peaceful. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was excellent, freshly cooked and piping hot. The only thing that could have been improved was the weather , pouring with rain but nice and cosy inside!

Booked a table to take visiting relatives to lunch. Excellent food, as usual. service a bit slow but that is usual too. This time we didn't mind as we had lots to talk about. Would still come again with no hesitation.

Both service and food were very good and made for an enjoyable family brunch. Would certainly recommend to others and would go to Cote in Godalming again.

Always first class reception and good service, with good meal options from specials of the month, a la carte and weekend specials with a varied wine list to match.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Try the sea bass and creme caramel on this months menu! Our table was in a quiet area and seating was comfortable and spacious.

My meal was taken from the end-of-the-month menu and consisted of the soup aux poisson to start followed by the breast of duck. Totally delicious!! Hopefully, next month's menu will be equally good. My only drink was a campari and soda. This was the same as for my previous visit but they had trouble finding the soda and realising, thanks to my coaching, that I preferred it with the usual slice of orange. All in all, a very pleasant evening.

Great lunch with friends in a quiet corner of the restaurant and very well looked after. The food we ordered was just as described and we especially enjoyed the frozen berries for desert.

The food was excellent. The service was fast and very good, also all the staff were very friendly. The decor in the restaurant was very tasteful.

Arnaud was an excellent host. Good food and pleasant surroundings. If I had a complaint it was very noisy downstairs mainly because of numerous children

Would highly recommend Cote. We had speedy and polite service. Food is delicious and the restaurant itself is lovely to. Much nicer than the Guildford branch.
