Côte Godalming

Lovely food, generous portions, good menu, but the service was a little slow and they got one of our orders wrong. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Possibly the worst service I have had, and really surprising for a Cote. Normally they are great. Took a long time to order. Meals came wrong, some had finished eating before others had their food. Late food was cold. We had to remind them of items that did not arrive. Hot drinks never arrived. Only saving grace is the manager did not charge us.

Greeted with a Smile. Welcoming Friendly Staff, Good Service and Tasty Food. Nice atmosphere felt relaxed and at no point rushed. Look forward to our next visit. ( Wish there was more choice for vegetarians on the special menu).

Friendly welcome and lovely service by all staff there, good honest food. Everyone was smiling and wanted to help us have a nice evening out, which we did!

Fantastic service, lovely location and good food reasonably priced. Loved the specials for June as well as the additional in season asparagus. The team at Godalming get better and better. Can't wait until they come to Haslemere.

Whilst the food is lovely and the service great the child’s portions of goujons and chips are extremely small. My child had what I would say was 1.5 put on his plate. Not enough for the cost. A real shame

It was very busy but the staff worked so hard and remained professional polite and helpful . Our main waitress was delightful. Thankyou very much.

Lovely breakfast with good friendly and efficient service. It was very busy, as it was fathers day. The food was very good, we didn't have to wait long and the waitress was efficient and friendly.

Great food value and service as always from the best cote around. Second visit in a week and didn't disappoint! We will be back soon

Excellent service, yummy food, my only criticism was my chicken walnut and avocado salad had no avocado in it . However it was a nice ambiance and good evening

Overall the service are helpful and eager to please, but last night the service was a bit slow and not quite as efficient. Food as usual was excellent as was the wide range of choice.

We enjoyed our food . The problem was the acoustics of the building .There were only 4 of us but it was difficult to hear each other .

I’m afraid I wasn’t overly impressed with the meal my husband and I had. The gratin in the main course tasted like it has been hanging around and nothing was very hot. The dessert also tasted like it had been left around. I had much better at Godalming Cote. The service was ok. But we did feel a bit like we were on a conveyer belt.

Friendly and helpful staff. First water was warm but, when asked, they brought ice to chill it and second water later was lovely and cold. Starters were good - garlic prawns and June tomato special, duck was good but steak was tastless and overcooked even though I asked for medium to rare, but towards more rare so that the blood ran. It was overcooked but it was too much hassle to change it so I ate it, but will not order steak again. ice cream tasted bland. Wine was good. Service good although when I asked waitor who brought my main for mainnaise it never arrived. Could do better.

Great food and very friendly service. A little noisy in the section that we sat in (despite being a Tuesday evening) but probably the acoustics of an older building. Still highly recommended. A reliable chain that still feels less than standard.

Excellent speedy service on a quiet lunchtime today. Tasty Boeuf bourguignon with creamy mash which matched the cold weather outside followed by a warm chocolate fondant. Would go back

Very busy restaurant with tasty food. Service was fine for the time of day and the level of customers who were dining. Would certainly go back.

Waiter did not seem familiar with the offer. He politely disappeared and found out whilst we waited at our table. On returning he said it didn’t apply to one menu.

Great lunch from the June set menu. Tasty fresh asparagus followed by the sea bream. Perfect! Thank you for yet another visit all served with a smile!

Great service and food. I had the smoked mackerel starter, haddock main and crème caramel. All were excellent and all for £13.50.

I am visually impaired and the staff were very helpful - placing me in a naturally well lit window seat . My lunch was delicious . The fish pie was piping hot and full of flavour with a good variety of seafood. My visit was on a weekday late lunchtime when the restaurant was not too busy . This is a good lunchtime venue in Godalming with an open courtyard in front of the restaurant well set back from the road.

Service was pretty slow, especially when it came to getting the bill and paying. Food was brought out at different times, not all together. The portions were very small for the eggs royale, certainly not worth nearly £9!! Tasty though and lovely decor.

Great quality food from the a la carte menu. Prawn Gratinee & calamari starters followed by sirloin steaks, goats cheese salad & breton stew. Excellent service with a smile too.

Starters were delicious. My burger was lacking seasoning and a bit tasteless and the green beans with my parents meals were very over cooked and stringy. So nothing special.

Cite in Godalming is excellent and the food is good and definately good value for money

The food was well presented, well cooked and was delicious. This was well complemented by courteous and excellent service of the staff. All in all a wonderful evening.

Great service. Lovely guys and lady’s serving. Food was quick and hot but we still had time to have a good chin wag, we did not feel rushed at all!!

Great food, efficient & friendly service, lovely location. Great birthday treat with husband and 6 year old son. Would highly recommend and looking for to the next visit. X

Once again a delicious meal, there is a large choice but we still have our favourites, liver parfait and cod goujons for me and onion soup and fillet steak for my husband. The staff are attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend .

very good welcome and table choice at 6.30 pm. Selection on menu wide-ranging to suit individual tastes. Wines were reliable French choice. Excellent value even get.

The meal was good but our evening was spoilt by the illness of a customer requiring ambulance etc however the restaurant staff dealt with it all with minimum fuss. The premises have a great ambiance

Excellent and imaginative food with attentive pleasant service. Recommend you highly as having a good atmosphere with decor that is appropriate to a very pretty dining room. There is ample parking nearby by and I like the division of the restaurant into smaller spaces.

Overall enjoyable, but freshly toasted sourdough bread with the charcuterie platter would have been more enjoyable than the cold toast I was served. Our waiter was rather over keen on up-selling, trying to persuade us o have olives when we had already ordered pissalidière with our drinks,

Food was good. Interesting menu. Service was very efficent. There was a good ambience. I would go again especially as we really enjoyed the bottle of complimentary wine.

Again I can only say how good the service & food is, not good excellent. Tried and really liked the French Breakfast, different. The staff always give the highest level of service coupled with a smile, nothing is too much trouble again with a smile.

Excellent staff service, friendly and efficient. Our food was piping hot, served promptly and tasted good. The pork belly is particularly recommended - it was beautifully cooked.

Good evening, fantastic wine - good atmosphere and waiter - al a carte menu; have had the set menu previously and it has also been good. I have rated waiting time as good - we don't like service to be too quick - it was well timed.

Food and service very good ,as always very busy for Saturday night which meant that it was extremely noisy and difficult to have conversation without shouting.

Very good service but atmosphere lacking - service attentive - moules very small and not that appetising but lovely desserts - not sure would be in hurry to go back

An enjoyable steak in a relaxing restaurant. The service was efficient and attentive without being intrusive. All in all a very enjoyable meal. We would eat here again.

Once again exceeded all expectations. Staff in particular are so polite and friendly and very professional, they are one of the reasons we use the restaurant, that coupled with super food.

We enjoyed our breakfast with friends. Staff were very attentive.Unfortunately the bacon I had as a side dish came over cooked and hard. We were not charged for it, so thank you. Myself and another coeliac enjoyed the experience of having a cooked breakfast, albeit without sausages.

We had a very enjoyable family meal. I would recommend.
