Côte Godalming

I went with a group of seven and we were shown to a quiet area which gave some privacy (just as well as one member of the group can be, and was, voluble, so he might otherwise have disturbed other diners). The service was attentive, there were no prolonged gaps between courses, the food was as good as ever and the cost was very reasonable.

Excellent prestige lunch menu for September. Moules followed by a generous sized haddock wrapped in bacon. Service great too. Will be back again soon. Thank you

I have a favourite main course which was not on the menu that evening. Despite this the maitre d went out of his way to accommodate me and asked the chef to prepare the dish. It was superb as always. I am a very satisfied customer. Many thanks Pauline

Overall good experience but I don't believe that a 12.5% "service charge" should automatically be added to the bill, this should be left to the customers discretion!

Overall a nice meal. My goats cheese starter was not hot enough and I would have asked for it to be hotter but no one checked if it was okay and it was awkward trying to get someone's attention so I ate it. The prawn starter was lovely that my husband had. I asked for the duck leg but with the cherry sauce. I was told this would be fine but got served the wrong sauce. I queried it and they bought a small side of what was supposed to be cherry sauce. It wasn't! It was the veal jus with a few cherries thrown in. This was disappointing. It was a shame as the duck, cabbage etc was very nice and desert was good too. I love the cherry sauce and was quite let down on this occasion.

Fantastic staff, excellent knowledge regarding dietary needs. Very professional and we had a fabulous time. Food was great and I had a good choice from the gluten free menu and felt safe regarding their knowledge regarding dairy intolerance too.

Most enjoyable meal with friends. We had the monthly specials which were cooked well, tasty and presented well. Good polite service.

As usual we had a super breakfast in Godalming. 4 of us-breakfast, very good value. Pure orange juice can be up to 3.50 but we had this, coffee and a cooked breakfast for less than £10. Brilliant.

Lovely pre-theatre meal. Butternut squash soup, lamb parmentier and crème caramel - yummy!

My server was Mathew for the evening. He was very attentive and polite. He explained my choices of complimentary wine very clearly. I ordered roasted pork belly . It turned out dry and hard. I told him and he alerted the manager immediately, I had a replacement.

Great meal really enjoyed the experience. As always enjoyed our evening out. This was our 49th wedding anniversary and the staff made it so special for us. Many thanks.

Since we last came to this restaurant the quality of the food has improved 150%. We love the August set menus and have eaten these at four other Cote Brasseries. This time the Godalming Cote kitchen served up excellent food: we had the lovely sea trout as a main course for example. It was served hot and the vegetables were fresh. The service was excellent, particularly by the assistant manager George who clearly has experience of the Cote brand and has worked in other South East England branches. Cote's motto is 'excel and make the service even better' - that was definitely true at this restaurant. We had to move since the front of the restaurant was full of noisy children at lunchtime with noisy mothers. George had no problem in finding us a quieter spot at the back of the restaurant. He did so with little fuss. So we could actually have a lovely lunch conversation.

I went to Cote last month with my Mum when I got back from holiday and we enjoyed it, so when we saw a voucher in the local paper we decided to go back. Great experience again. Friendly welcoming staff and lovely food. I like the filet of beef 'bleu'!
