Steak frites on menu served pink came to table over cooked and very chewy for both of us , however they were replaced

We were not happy with our experience today at Cote. My friend and I came for a Xmas celebration and we were quite disappointed with the service. The service was slow and when we came to order our deserts I ordered the chocolate torte. I asked if it came with icecream and they said it did. My friend ordered the creme brûlée after asking if it came hot which the waiter said it did. Our deserts arrived but no icecream for me and a cold creme brûlée for my friend. My friend kindly asked if it could be warmed up which it couldn’t be so she was happy to continue eating her pudding however the manager was called over even though we never asked or complained and greeted us with quite an abrupt and defensive attitude saying ‘what’s the problem?’ We said that there was no problem and we didn’t ask to speak to a manger but we just explained that we wanted a hot creme brûlée which the young guy had said it was. The manager proceeded to say... ‘he would not have said it was warm as he has worked here for a year and a half’ To us we felt that was very rude and accusing of us of lieing which was not the case. We are very understanding nice people who were not complaining yet we were approached by a managed and greeted with an unpleasant attitude which actually ruined our experience.

Fairly good but not as good as usual. We had to wait a very long time for our main course today and had to ask how much longer we would need to wait as there was a 35 minute delay after finishing our starter to receiving our main course.

Lovely meal, not rushed and a lovely waitress, will definately be back.

Unfortunately poached eggs served with the breakfast were stone cold as were the replacements. Finally a fried egg was served correctly but not before the whole breakfast experience was disjointed. The situation was resolved amicably.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent wine, what more could you want?!

The food is always fabulous, the staff really friendly, especially as I go regularly with my elderly parents and they often recognise us, and are so caring towards my parents.. Never had a bad meal at Côte! (Oh, and the noise level is better these days too!)

Lovely place to go for lunch or dinner in central Farnham. Staff are very friendly, worth a visit.

We are regular eaters at Cote restaurants because a) the French connection is accurate and genuine, b) the food is good quality, c) the food is good value for money and finally d) the staff are efficient, friendly and polite. However sometimes things are not quite as they should be. We have the following criticisms from our recent experience. 1. Our seats were not ideal as we were close by the bar and opposite the entrance and hence exposed to the cold outside temperature with the comings and goings of guests. A few suggestions a) a closure mechanism on the door? b) a polite notice to encourage people to close the door after using it? c) narrow or change the entrance, where the curtains are, for a more efficient but safe draught excluder? 2. We were given this table as the restaurant was busy, which is great for everyone, because we prefer chairs to benches or banquets and we had reserved several days in advance with this stipulation. Clearly we were given a table which was available rather than specifically reserved. 3. On this occasion we only required a quick Sunday lunch after shopping. We booked for 14.30 and didn’t leave until nearly 16.30, hardly quick. We were waiting for someone to take our order before, eventually, one of the managers spotted our dilemma and came to take our order. The food was slow to arrive, particularly our mains, which were from the plait rapides, and my wife’s poulet grillee was burnt and the dish was dry. The sauce had a skin on it. Clearly it was left waiting at the pass somewhere. We put this down to a bad day at the office and hope it is the exception rather than the rule going forward!!

Staff were friendly. I mentioned in my booking that it was an anniversary meal for my fiancée and I and I asked what could be done. I expected a phone call or email to see what can be done. But as we got to the table, they offered us two free glasses of complimentary bubbly which was very generous of them. Thank you!!!

Service was courteous and efficient, always with a smile.The waiting staff are so well trained. Great value for money.We had the lamb rump and it was amazing!The creme caramel is to die for. Another great meal at The Cote.Thank you.

Great food and staff even though some of our party were 30 mins late. Quiet enough given the date. Parking a pain on a Friday but not their fault.

Great service & I loved my meal. Husband enjoyed his starter but thought his main was mediocre. A little crowded and noisy (which I suppose is the mark of a successful, popular place) but we were allowed to move to a slightly quieter spot once another table became available :-)

Enjoyed a very pleasant meal after our matinee visit to the theatre. The theatre menu is wonderful value with excellent choice even for those of us who do not eat meat

Tables very close together, where we sat, with very noisy American egotist at next table. Whitebait a little under-cooked. Chicken main very good. Choc pot not up to usual standard (grainier, sweeter)

Arrived at 6.00pm and told two members of staff that we had tickets for a show starting at 7.30pm and was told no problem. Ordered food promptly but meals were very slow in arriving so could only have a main course and therefore not able to benefit for the two course prices. Not able to order desserts or coffees. A disappointing start to our special evening out!

Wine was really good Food was cold and average - camberet wasn’t as thought but calamari was delicious.

Slow service, inattentive, cold food, hair in food. Normally very good here, tonight was a disaster.

Excellent service and greeting from Russell. He’s a perfect representative of Côte and is kind, generous and fun every time I’ve visited the Farnham restaurant. Love it when he’s there!
