Wonderful night had by all!!Food & staff fantastic!!! It was a special celebration & we couldn't have bettered it anywhere. Cannot thank you all enough !!!
Had a lovely evening for our 27th wedding anniversary. Beautifully cooked steak and fab service. Loved that there is a gluten free menu. Must do it again.
Always an excellent experience . Great food, lovely surroundings, very professional staff Happy to keep coming back. Great for all ages and lovely location on Cathedral Green
Cote is a fantastic group of restaurants and this is a particularly fine example. Wonderful french brasserie style cooking, fairly priced and well served and presented. It really is excellent.
Please don't go to Côte for lunch! Need to be able to get a table myself. Without doubt the best staff, food, atmosphere and location in Exeter.
Fantastic restaurant, and really well catered for gluten free. Lovely atmosphere, quick service and Devine food! Will come again for sure! Fabulous French food! Thank you
Excellent food as always! Did get asked about 4 times by different staff if we wanted any more drinks, which is fine, but a little annoying. But would highly recommended for brunch!
Everyone was friendly and professional and service was amazingly fast. The starter Gem Lettuce.Bacon,Egg& Walnut was delicious followed by Cod Gougons&Fries which were piping hot.
Although we are regulars we took some fist timers with us last night. The food was excellent as usual and the atmostphere was great. The charcuterie board was most impressive and they thought the brûlée and creme caramel were exceptional.
Very enjoyable. Great food and a good 'buzz' about the place. Window table upstairs meant we had a great view across Cathedral Green to the cathedral.
When in Exeter we practically always lunch at the Cote. We find it reasonably priced and enjoy the food although it is rather noisy. Our only criticism on our last visit was that the choice of "Specials" was not to our taste and, because it was a "Birthday treat" offer, we were obliged to choose from the "a la carte" menu. We would have preferred the choices on the "set menu" on this occasion!
Ordered a starter of the charcuterie board served without bread to eat with it, disappointing had to order it. Otherwise good food and pleasant atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, good food and service and lovely view over to Cathedral. Only criticism is that the blinds do not pull down- venetian blinds would cure this.
Always a joy to be here. The only problem perhaps is the level of noise, which makes it hard to converse properly. But service is a joy and the food was delicious
Excellent meal and polite and good service. Will eat there again good atmosphere and excellent position. Wish there was one in Torquay or Brixham. Will certainly visit again
Usually like Cote but recent experience not too good. Portions fairly mean and service very slow: in the end I cleared our own dirty plates. Also, in spite of asking to be moved to a vacant table, I had to take being frequently brushed by passing traffic, usually waiting staff. Think I'll give it a pass for a while.
as ALWAYS brilliant..thats why we go SO often!!!!!I also fed up with answering this questionnaire every time I go to the Cote.never used to be like this???
Fantastic food, amazing value for money. Restaurant was a bit noises and the tables were too closely packed together but overall enjoyed our meal there and would highly recommend
We are regular customers at Cote Exeter. The staff are unfailingly polite, helpful & efficient. The menu for specials & a la carte is extensive & excellent value. Even the fussiest eater should be able to find at least one dish that attracts! Anticipating our next visit!
Excellent food and service as usual. We can always rely on Cote whichever city we are in, Exeter, Cheltenham Cardiff and Cobham are our most recent ones. We have never been disappointed.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Very good value for money. Good varied menu with dishes to suit all tastes. The staff are effective and attentive without being overbearing.
We have Never had a bad meal and been about 10 times- staff are polite and helpful. Highly recommend lovely view of the cathedral too
Staff great, as usual. We nearly always take the 3 course set lunch, which was ok, but let down this time by very dry, over cooked haddock fillet. If they are going to offer fresh fish it must be properly cooked. We rarely send food back as it spoils the occasion, especially when there are 4 of us.
Excellent service delicious food.high standard as always. Fushcskes SBD fish Parmentier tidsy with a bottle of Sauvignin from Pays dOc. We will visit again. Thank you
whom it my concern, My daughter and myself enjoyed the visit to your Brasserie in Exeter. The gift of wine was enjoyable. Excellant food and the service was great, the young man advised my daughter what to select on the Menue as she cannot tolerate Dairy products. I first ate at your restaurant at Bluewater in Kent and I hope to go there again at the end of May. Why haven't you a Brasserie in Plymouth where I live? Many thanks again. Mrs Dorothy Wood
Great reception, lovely service and the food was excellent. View of the Cathedral- beautiful. Only thing letting this exceptional restaurant down is the noise, its so loud in there you almost have to shout at each other.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff and were shown to a lovey window table for two overlooking Exeter Cathedral, our meal was absolutely delicious.
Good menu choice and tatsy well-priced food in a buzzing environment. So buzzing it was quite difficult to chat but not much that can be done about that.
friendly staff, they make the whole meal with my family enjoyable, just a very pleasant 2 hours for dinner. 3rd time to Cote exeter, cannot fault it. well done Cote Exeter.
This Cote in Exeter is in a great setting. We had May's three course set menu and all the courses were delicious. Efficient friendly service.
Excellent food and service, excellent value.why do you insist on a minimum number of words. Maximising the number of words does make the review any better!
Very good service. Friendly staff. Food generally good but could do with more seasoning on the duck course We took advantage of our reward which made the meal even better value than usual.
Great, friendly staff. Lovely ambiance. Delicious menu at a good price. Regular customers and always happy to visit. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great value, quality meal.
Over experience enjoyable as always. Seemed more noisy than usual, so not that easy to have a conversation as normal voice levels. Food, wine and service reliably good.
Excellent setting, menu and staff. Food arrived promptly, reasonable portions and tasted delicious. Very polite, friendly and professional staff.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cote in Exeter for 6 of us to celebrate our granddaughters 11th birthday. The food was excellent and the service first class. The extra 'fuss' made for our 'birthday girl' was the 'icing on the cake'. Thank you all.
Excellent service and a brilliant selection of great gluten free food. Happy to change things around dietary requirements. Will keep coming back again and again
We had a booking for 12:30 on Sunday, and were surprised that the upstairs area was so quiet. The meal of steak with salad and chips which we each had was fine. The bill came with an optional gratuity of 12.5% included which is a bit cheeky. We could have refused the option, but had found nothing wrong, so paid it and grumbled to ourselves. It had also been applied to the price of the wine which equated to £2.50 just to have our wine poured once.
I have visited Cote Exeter many times. It's design upstairs with many mirrors, no curtains or tablecloths leads to it being one of the noisiest restaurant I have used with the sound reflecting off the hard surfaces . The level of sound is quite deafening making it almost impossible to hear the person sat opposite you on a small table. There is no background music, just guests trying to make each other heard over the rising noise levels. Food is fine, staff excellent, level of noise impossible. It'll be a while till I forget again how unpleasant the noise levels are before I return.
I have had many really good meals here in the past and rated it really highly. This time it was different. The restaurant was very quiet (not a problem and it was a Sunday) but, in spite of this the service was very, very slow to the point that I had to ask if there was a problem; I was told not and the food eventually arrived. My meal seemed to have a faint burnt edge to the flavour (maybe there had been a problem after all?). I decided to call it a day at this point which is a shame as I would normally have stayed for desserts, coffee and after dinner drinks. I'll give it another go in the future, on the basis of many previous good meals, and hope this was a one-off (maybe a staffing problem behind the scenes?). Fingers crossed.
We asked for a seat upstairs by the window when we booked and am pleased to say we were seated exactly where we requested. The food was excellent as usual and likewise the service, the staff are very friendly and efficient. Happy to recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful position overlooking the Cathedral, food excellent, specifically the seasonal menu and service excellent. Great place for our anniversary. Scallops were wonderful, same with the sea bass and lamb. Shame there were no profiteroles....
Staff were very welcoming, lovely food with plenty to choose from. We were given plenty of time to choose what we wanted, didn't feel rushed and great service, can't wait to go again.
The service was very quick but perhaps a bit too fast. I had just put my cutlery down and my plate was removed from the table
A fantastic experience! Staff were friendly and showed us to a lovely window table overlooking the Cathedral green. Immediately two complimentary Kirs were brought to us. We both thought the meal absolutely delicious and shall return.
We went here for a quick brunch, it was lovely and reasonably priced. In my opinion their Brioche French toast is the best I've ever had!
Welcoming, a nice busy atmosphere, lovely lovely food (especially the French onion soup!) and good service. We really enjoyed our night, top marks for Cote!
Have been here numerous time and I have say never fails to impress. Food great, fabulous location, staff friendly, polite and efficenct . Sure I will be visiting again soon.
Your booking system needs refining; you asked me for a report 24hrs before we had even been to the restaurant and on arrival our name did not seem to be on the evening's list. This apart, we had an excellent meal and were well looked after by the staff.
Very good if rather noisy! However that's an indication of the popularity of this restaurant. Staff all very helpful and very reasonably priced menu. Will continue to eat here.
