Côte Restaurant Exeter

Great food, friendly atmosphere. 5 of us all enjoyed our visit. My main was duck which was cooked exactly as I like it. Thank you!!

Excellent meal and service. Fantastic value for money if buying from the set menu. Would definitely visit again. Nice family get together for 6 people.

Good value three course lunch on first floor of newly refurbished restaurant. Good busy atmosphere with excellent service by knowledgable staff. Reasonably priced wine by the glass.

Excellent as always, although very busy service was fast and efficient and the food was great . A super well trained team at the Exeter branch.

Had to queue to get through door with people enquiring if there were free tables, even though I'd booked! Once inside given table next to window as requested. Attentive staff, lovely food and reasonably priced set lunchtime menu.

Excellent quality. Plenty of choice. Lovely staff! We have been enjoying Cote and all it has to offer since it opened in Exeter. A real favourite.😀

The whole experience was excellent. The food was really good, we were not rushed and the waiters were very helpful and friendly. Well done - we will be back soon.

Good service and excellent food as always at Exeter Côte. Lovely view over the Cathedral yard, particularly at this time of year with the Christmas market.

What a great meal at a reasonable price in a nice atmosphere and with excellent service. My only negative for the whole experience was the inclusion of a 12.5% service charge (clearly labelled as optional). If you do this, then I believe that the person handing you the bill should mention that this is included and can be altered, rather than expecting you to read the whole bill and find it. I know that restaurant waiters are not well paid in general, but a lot of us on moderate incomes are not that well off either and I believe that 10% is more appropriate and it should be mentioned. If it had been 10% and mentioned verbally, I might not have reduced it. Overall, however, it remained a very positive experience and we plan to come again.

We visited on a very busy day but still ended up with a lovely table by the window. Staff were attentive and helpful without hurrying us at all. Food excellent as ever: overall a really nice lunch.

Lovely evening again with Côte. We had the sharing Côte de boeuf which was nice. However this time was quite tough even though cooked medium rare. We did mention this to the waiting staff when she asked how I meal was and they gave us a discount on our meal, which we didn’t want/expect. However was a nice gesture all the same. Knowing how good it always is at Côte we were a little surprised but still thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Thank you again Côte brasserie

Food and service is always good and price is excellent value. Easy to book and great position opposite the cathedral ,we always book cotes when visiting exeter

Great atmosphere, superb customer service and exquisite food. Top marks. I highly recommend this restaurant to finer dining lovers. Make a visit when you are in Exeter.

We had a lovely meal & enjoyed my birthday drinks, thank you. The only thing that made it less than perfect was some loud drilling noise at points during the meal? We were very pleased with where we were seated though, window seat upstairs was perfect.

Most of the food was nice, but the duck was dry and overcooked. Some of the staff were rather aloof and were not particularly keen to help with an easy special request.

Excellent food and service special care and concern for my allergy and jaw problems, advised and modified the meal for me thank you so much!

Fabulous food and excellent service in ideal surroundings. We were all four very impressed with our meals. The Creme caramels were extremely good and the French onion soup the best I've ever tasted - including in France! We hope to all come again before Christmas.

Excellent meal with friends choice was very good something for all tastes. Atmosphere was good, a little noisy at times but would definitely return. Creme Caramel for dessert was fantastic.

This is one of my favourite west country restaurants & one of the best Cotes I have been in in the UK. The service, ambience, quality of the food and the excellence of the wines are 1st class. We always book this restaurant when we visits Exeter.

As usual food was very good, staff attentive and well looked after. The only issue I have is that you put service charges on the bill, and prefer to look after the staff who have waited on me direct.

We like Cote Brasserie - it is a great French formula. We have been to many of their restaurants across the country and can confirm that they are consistently good. Exeter was manic on Friday evening with the Christmas market in full swing opposite the Brasserie; Cote was pretty busy too and the only downside was that they didn't have the Bouef Bourguignon - boo,hiss! So I had to choose something else but, as ever, the food was really good, service impeccable and I really like their wine list - very comprehensive and French to the core as you would expect. We are visiting Cote in Exeter twice more before Christmas - staff Xmas bash included. Also Dorchester for lunch next week on our way to Poole.

The atmosphere was beautiful. The staff were very attentive, and the food was delicious. We were celebrating two friends 40tg birthday’s, which they helped to make special. Thank you! We will be back very soon.

Fantastic staff and good food, but had run out of a few items off of the menu despite being the middle of Saturday prime evening dining time.

Well located by the cathedral green but hampered at present by scaffolding and the set up for the Christmas market. If you want a view ask to be upstairs. Food to normal good Cote standard. I've experienced better service at all the other Cotes I've visited.

Great location, great atmosphere, great service and great food. Visited for a birthday celebration and was perfect. We will return no doubt in the future.

Thought we might sit upstairs as pre-booked- otherwise, all good. Food, as always, exceptional and service very good despite being busy. Everyone cheerful and helpful - a lovely lunch.

Nice table for two upstairs overlooking the Cathedral but the tables are a little close together. Service was good. The food we chose was delicious. Unfortunately my main course was cool when it arrived but as soon as I brought it to the waiter's attention it was whisked away and a hot replacement (completely new dish) brought to table together with two new dishes of vegetables. The wine we chose was also very good. Overall a very pleasant experience.

First time visit to 'Cote' whilst visiting Exeter for the Christmas market. Very attentive service throughout the meal which was very good and the choice was interesting.

12.5% service charge for shit service, didn't even ask if I wantes the OPTIONAL service charge, guess this establishment cares more about money than customer service...

Good food, lively atmosphere, lovely staff. Second time this month we have eaten at Cote, it has become our 'go to' place to eat and socialise in Exeter without breaking the Bank. Looking foward to our next visit.

Just had a lovely evening at Cote in Exeter. The Breton fish stew was delicious. The staff were very attentive right from the beginning but not intrusive.

Fantastic food in a lovely setting. Have visited on numerous occasions in Exter & Manchester and it never fails to impress. Well worth the visit.

The perfect table overlooking the Cathedral's West Front; an enjoyable 2-course lunch; first class service; a buzzing yet not intrusive atmosphere; and excellent value for money overall. What could be better.

Lovely experience, super food and great service. We took a couple of friends and it was their first experience but definitely not their last they have assured me.

A lovely meal served quickly at peak time (1pm). Excellent value. Could include bread with the soup (the French would be scandalized at overall lack of bread anyway) - but a minor quibble and it was nice that water was complimentary, which is rarely the case overseas!

Côte is always very good value for money; the food delivered to the table is first class as are the staff who look after you. But Staff in Exeter are even better! That's why we good to Côte whenever we can. David

Fab views, great service and excellent specials. Good wine list, well organised to make an informed well matched choice. A great Sunday lunch as ever. Looking forward to our next Sunday shop & lunch day.

Brilliant restaurant lovey food as per usual always busy was a little slower then normal this time but wouldn’t stop us from coming again we are regulars

A very pleasant lunchtime only marred by my main course was not what I ordered but this was quickly rectified. Very efficient staff as always.
