We enjoyed this visit very much. Not fine dining, but good honest French style food of the slightly "old fashioned, village restaurant". Unlike the snooty, lackadaisical service we have had in the past, our waitress Emily was brilliant! Really responsive, she noticed everything and was so lovely and friendly. Couldn't recommend her more, she is an asset to Cote Exeter!
Despite them having a party of 60 upstairs the food wasn’t too long arriving and was delicious! Friendly staff and a diverse menu to chose from.
Good atmosphere and great food Really good value for money and amazing service. Thabk youfor having us. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends
It was a busy lunchtime, but service was pretty good. We dined fro mthe three course set menu, which is excellent value for money with good choices. Portion sizes are sensible, so that quality is good and it is possible to enjoy a 3-course lunch without feeling bloated.
Service great as usual always busy but always a great experience and lovely food staff attentive never had a bad meal here would recommend to anyone
Great food, always consistently good and love the set menu - always recommend to my friends as a good place to eat lunch or dinner
The food is always amazing, such good flavours and very well presented. The staff are very friendly. The only downside is that the temperature of the room is always very hot.
We had a family Christmas lunch today. We all had the lunchtime 3 course meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We felt the choices on all three courses really varied and the portions generous. Great value for money. Also the wines were very good. Very good service and friendly and efficient staff ,altogether a very pleasant visit.Nice seating area for the six of us too ,back in the corner.
Always love a meal here - great food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. A minimum of 25 words?? Why? Don't know what else to say now!
Our request for a table in the window was accommodated despite the restaurant being very busy. My starter was very disappointing - overcooked "tiger" prawns (who cuts a prawn in half?!), no sauce and we had to ask for bread - but the main was delicious. Very reasonable though as we had taken advantage of an offer.
Despite the fact that due to heavy rain and traffic problems driving into Exeter we were half an hour late the staff were very understanding. Our late arrival meant we were pressed for time but an excellent main course was served and we were then able to move on to our next appointment. Well done Cote!
Excellent as always. We thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas special menu at a lovely table upstairs with first class food and service. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
although it was a very busy afternoon we found the greeting the service and the food still at the expected high standard. the thing we really like about cote is the fact that you are always made to feel welcome and can guarantee an excellent meal
Very friendly staff and service was quick, definitely recommend. We went on a Sunday, plenty of food choice and reasonably prices. Would be great for special occasions or just after a good day shopping
Absolutly smashing dinner. We had the set lunch which is fantastic value for money. Great atmosphere in there again. Really busy and Christmassy. Top notch service.
Very good service and great value from the special lunch/early evening menu. Really tasty food in an enjoyable atmosphere.
Service and food good. However, the area where we we seated was noisy with two large groups nearby. It would be good if there could be a quiet area set aside for smaller groups/couples especially as there are three levels available in this restaurant.
Very nice restaurant, absolutely delicious food! Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff!
Plenty of good quality food to choos from on the menu and a great atmospher. Was not asked if I wanted to opt out of the volentry gratuity and was charged 12% more than I wanted to pay, not to pleased about that and it has spoilt my visit
The restaurant was extremely busy with pre concert goers - consequently our food took three quarters of an hour to arrive which made us have to rush - however the food was excellent.
Booked for breakfast. Slight confusion over one of our orders but very quickly rectified by staff. Food, service and value for money are all good.
Very good food. Staff were helpful if initially a bit inattentive, but we had a lovely evening and enjoyed the christmas menu. will come back.
Good service, great food, friendly staff. It was a good experience in a nice restaurant and location. I would go back. The place was busy, but efficient
Good food & Ser ice. Very enjoyable.Would go again and recommend to friends.Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and nice set to g overlooking the cathedral.
We had Great food and the service was very good too it was a very nice and very lovely evening for all our party too
Outstanding food, wine was brilliant and the service was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Try and get a table upstairs and by the window for a view of the cathedral
Thank you for a lovely meal, served by friendly attentive staff. A happy atmosphere too ! Smashing window seat , just as I'd asked - might be good to get some blinds though to shade customer's eyes.
Dreadful weather outside but inside the restaurant was warm and the staff welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent a great evening. What more could one want?
Although I enjoyed my steak my sister's salmon was overcooked and her bread and butter pudding was disappointing. We also arrived under the false impression that we had a free bottle of wine. Access to the toilet was difficult. Overall disappointed that it did not meet the standards I've experienced in Chiswick and Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Delicious as always with excellent service. It is great that Cote staff are so knowledgeable about gluten free food and they always provide helpful information about what on the menu is suitable.
Good service despite it being really busy, think many of us were eating prior to going to Carol in the Cathedral. Nice choices on menu.
GREat food as always. Had quite a wait before drinks orderI was taken but otherwise service was friendly and efficient as per usual. Thank you
Excellent food but waiting staff were not particularly attentive, we had to ask to order a dessert and waited a while before we were able to order our first drink. The food was delicious though, and we were not in a hurry!
A great atmosphere in the upstairs dining room. Cheerful service and great food. A huge choice on the main menu, plus the Christmas special as well
Good value for money... tasty food...but service a little slow, though it was just before Christmas and there were several groups dining out. Great atmosphere.
Consistently good food in a buzzy atmosphere at a decent price by cheerful staff. While I'm no fan of chain restaurants, Cote somehow manages to elevate itself above its competitors.
Great food, comfortable and well looked after. Thanks for window table as asked. Cote can be relied upon to be consistently good. we will return frequently.
Very good meal.Service while friendly was not up to usual standard. WTH large groups in for Christmas parties There did not seem to be enough waiters.
As always the food was excellent and the staff were lovely- and we got a great seat as requested next to the window. And a free bottle of wine as a Cote Reward!
Excellent food & service, as always, and really nice ambience. Upstairs restaurant should have more effective blinds (perhaps slatted?) as the intense sunshine(!) in the eyes of guests facing the windows was very uncomfortable and spoiled an otherwise great lunch.
Staff friendly and attentive but not over powering....food always a good standard .... menu always varied with some good specials etc. Will always recommend to others.
Lovely vibe, Good service and tasty food. A lovely experience overall. Would certainly visit again after the festive season and a change of lunch menu.
Excellent meal and service as usual. Our favourite restaurant in Exeter! We’ve been visiting Cote since day one and every visit is an enjoyable experience.
The food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. Consistently good and would definitely recommend. Don't forget to book though as it can get really busy.
The drinks were a little 'pricey' and sadly our daughter who has a significant eating disorder and can only eat very small amounts ..wished too take her full dish away with her and you couldn't facilitate a container. We then had to deal with her anxiety about wasting food and money.
Went for lunch with friends. Service and food were as good as ever. The only problem was the lack of space. Maybe extra tables had been put in for the busy Christmas period but it was cramped.
As always, a delicious meal, with good service. The food was well presented and looked very attractive. The venue is welcoming and has a lovely buzz about it. Our visit came up to expectations
My mum has an allergy to onions and struggled to find something to eat as all dishes are pre prepared in London. She was only offered an omelette or a salad. She opted for the omelette which she did really enjoy.
Great service and good food,a quick pre carol service supper, tasty and good value, place is always buzzing and busy which makes for a good atmosphere!
Lovely food, lovely waiters and a nice environment - will be back! The calamari is great and I had some sourdough to mop up the moules juices!
