Côte Restaurant Exeter

We had an excellent experience with hot , fresh and flavourful food. We had four different main courses all of which were perfectly cooked and the lamb rump special was particularly good. thank you for the superb service from the friendly and professional waiting staff team.

Lovely restaurant with helpful and friendly staff. The food is good but I was a bit disappointed that mine was a bit over-salted for my taste. I scored the overall experience 5 instead of 6 because of the food but overall a really nice place to go. I would like to see more vege options.

Excellent food. Both kids and adults- amazing French Onion soup....Wont beat for value for money with both food and wine that's on offer. Staff a joy!

The food was very good as usual, although service at the table was a little slow at the start. We wish we'd come here earlier that day for breakfast instead of a lazy start with room service in a hotel nearby (it was just ....... awful).

Attention to detail and excellent service from the staff with great food and wine. Pleased with all elements of the evening with great company too

Atmosphere was good, food was nice and service was quick. They also catered perfectly to the additional requirements I asked for. Only negative is it's a little pricey but overall experience was great so would recommend.

Disappointed not to get a window seat, but perhaps we should have booked earlier. The food was good as always, although it was not clear from the menu that the special whole sea bass did not come with any potatoes or vegetables. And there was no chocolate pot!

Very enjoyable birthday lunch greatly enhanced by complimentary bubbles on arrival! Service efficient and friendly, good choice of dishes on the set lunch menu, & all the dishes we sampled were delicious.

Excellent meal. As usual service was very good despite being a very busy lunchtime service. Can recommend the set meal menu which is varied every month

The restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful with any questions we had. They never rushed us in ordering drinks and food plus the food timing was so quick that it was amazing!

Good food, but soup could have been improved by being hotter. Seemed quite noisy today, but was busy, as always.Had lovely window view today - great!

We had an excellent meal from the Christmas lunch menu, although it was my birthday! Food and service was good. The only slight negative was that the tables were so tightly packed in, that all your neighbouring tables were practically taking part in your conversation. The staff did a good job of gliding discreetly between tables somehow!! I know it was close to Christmas, but I think I prefer the more serene breakfast menu.

We had excellent service, and the food was served quickly. The sea bream was rather bony, but the gratin potatoes were delicious. The coffee was good.

Great food at reasonable price and good service. We really enjoyed our lunch and the Exeter Cote is in a great location with lovely views of the Cathedral.

A very pleasant lunch which was great value at 2 courses for £12. Service, food and drinks all good. We will be returning soon and have no criticisms.

First class meal and atmosphere, will go again ,I can recommend for lunch and meeting place to meet friends. The best meal I have had yet in Exeter.

Another wonderful, tasty lunch. Used January offer with a complimentary bottle of wine. The red from Carcassonne was very drinkable. Only downside was that we had ask for wine to be removed from the bill, otherwise service was excellent as always.

As always,slick and tasty lunch from the set menu. Staff were attentive,recognised us from previous visits. The new menu was only one day old,but our 3 orders were dealt with knowledgeably. We enjoy the continuity of service that Cote provides.

A wonderful new years eve dinner what does one expect from a great venue. Great food Lovely wine Good staff and a lovely surroundings. Thank you.

Food was over cooked and over priced. Service was already added to the bill, when the level of service was awful. Will not be going back.

Excellent food and customer service. Professional and friendly Always accommodating and our children love going there. I have been many times and never had a bad experience. Good value for money could not be better for a quick or relaxed meal in town. Well done Cote

Lovely New Year's Eve dinner - superbly presented and cooked. Very busy but staff still, in the main, delivered the service you expect. Best bit - the Creme Caramel dessert recipe has returned to the original!!

A wonderful evening eating from the New Year's Eve menu, with recommended wines paired for each course. Great service and high quality food. Happy New Year

Superb experience, as always. We requested a table downstairs which they accommodated. The food was stunningly tasty and delicious, as was the red wine. We felt looked after; the service was brilliant. All in all the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and it was a truly joyful experienced. Can’t wait to go back again.

Myself and My Fiance were very impressed With the excellent service, the food was beautiful,on our arrival,we were given a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to celebrate our engagement,i would certainly recommend Cote and will be returning in future weeks.

Really friendly and very helpful staff, quick service; although I had booked a table for three, I'm not sure whether I was expected when I turned up (about 5 minutes early).

On arrival staff greeted us politely and showed us to our table. The waiting staff were efficient and friendly too. The food was delicious. Overall a great experience and we would recommend.

Excellent location, friendly but efficient staff and good food. It may be part of a chain but Cote Exeter is a cut above many of its rivals. Recommended.

We suspect that the staff were over busy as it was close to Christmas but compared to many previous visits to Cote Exeter the service was very slow and the meal itself was rather mediocre.

The food as always was of good quality rather than quantity. We went for the 3 course lunch menu which is very good value for money. Staff welcoming but not too over attentive.

Lovly setting. We were a tabl e of 3 with a young teenager. Food and wine excellent. Service quick and very friendly, I would recommend.

The food was delicious and the staff were friendly despite being so busy. Would not hesitate to go again. Booking was a good idea though

Great anniversary meal with the wifey .... only complaints were the crème brulee was burnt to a crisp but was replaced with a crème caramel .... and after leaving a tip on the table looked at receipt later to find I'd already been charged 12.5% !! service without being asked !! :( But would definitely go again ! :)

We had an excellent meal Salmon salad in a warm and relaxed environment. Having eaten here many times I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Very good meals served by very pleasant staff. Lovely atmosphere will certainly return . I had lunch with a friend who had never eaten there before, she was very impressed and will certainly return.

Lovely food, service & atmosphere. Can’t wait to go again! A fabulous start to our Christmas! My husband had steak as said it was best he’d had last visit & thankfully was just as good this time.

As always, excellent service and food - thank you! Cote Exeter is in a superb location on Cathedral Green, with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Seldom a problem to get a table if you book in advance.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening - excellent food and service and window seats with a beautiful view of Exeter Cathedral and the Christmas tree on the Green. A real treat!

Always great a pleasure to lunch here. Best location in Exeter, the service and food are always excellent. We are regulars and don't consider alternatives.

Food was pretty good for a chain and fairly priced. Service was trying to be good but total lack of enough people meant that it was a bit of a shambles. This is not a comment about the poor staff who were running around like crazy but this place just did not have enough cover.
