Loved the August menu - delicious cocktail followed by delicious food as always! Great staff who always treat us perfectly. Fantastic value. Fantastic French style food. You have our vote!!

Cote Exeter never fails to match up to our expectations for a more than pleasant evening out for good food, good service and good value and its done it again this evening.

Very good service throughout our meal, the food was excellent.

Again, top quality food, wine, service and team of staff. Definitely one of our favourite places to eat out. A "must visit" if you haven't already been!

Beautiful food, pleasant staff. Lovely location. A bit of over lap with appetisers and starters but not overly worried as portions and service was wonderful.

We had the Cote de Boeuf and it was fabulous. We come to Cote often and this was the best meal we have had!

As always when in Exeter we lunch at the Cote which we enjoy in spite of the noise level! This time was no exception.

Very nice meals; arrived quickly and were delicious. We’ve been a couple of times to Cote Exeter and it has always been very good service and value.

My partner was dripped on by an air conditioning unit and it was known to the staff there was no apology just a rude well we can move you if it’s a problem!

Enjoyable meal, but disappointed that neither steak frites or creme caramel were available (both my first choices!). As we ate early on a Friday, clearly something has gone seriously wrong with your stocking policy.

Very friendly staff, lovely food and good service. Only downside is that it is very noisy upstairs as there is nothing to absorb the sounds. Won’t put me off though, will certainly come again.

Considering it was lunchtime and the restaurant quickly filled up, the service was swift and attentive and the food arrived reasonably quickly.

We're regulars here and think it is marvellous. Superb food at very reasonable prices and a lovely location. Allied to good service, what more do you want? We highly recommend it.

There were 10 of us for my wife's birthday celebration; all well satisfied. The whole family are big fans of Cote and often eat at the Cote in Exeter and other towns / cities. Time to open one in Truro! There's a really good French wine list too with plenty of choice.

Lovely food in a lovely setting just near the cathedral in Exeter. We had a 2 very friendly staff who were more than happy to help with our orders which we had to make changes to the menu slightly due to a food allergy. Our 2 children got little packs containing pencils, colouring pages and stickers which they loved and it was an unexpected surprise as we didn't know about it when booking. The whole family enjoyed the meal which was a very reasonable price, we had the set menu. Thanks again.

When we booked the table on 29th July we had asked for a 'window seat' but were allocated one slap bang in the middle of the restaurant. The noise was almost unbearable-we needed to shout at each other including the waiter who took our order. When seated it was 15 minutes before anyone asked if we wanted order a drink. Together with a round of drinks we ordered a bottle of wine which never materialised until we caught the attention of a different waiter some 20 minutes after it was ordered and we were half way through our meal. My fillet steak was a tad 'dry' and not up to usual standard I expected of a steak house in the City of Exeter. When the bill arrived it included a charge for 4 drinks which were confirmed as being 'complimentary' - not only did we NOT have 4 it was 3. I find this a totally unacceptable that the cost was 'buried' in the bill and could have easily been overlooked by myself. I find it outrageous that there was an optional 12.5% loading on the bill for 'service'. The service was sadly lacking and whilst I did leave a tip it would certainly not have been 12.5% of an erroneous bill. Getting the bill changed was chaotic to say the least and I suspect that the 4 tables surrounding ours were privy to the conversation/discussion. Whilst the £19.00 was removed the bill still showed the 12.5% service charge.

Lovely atmosphere, quick service and lovely food and we were not rushed to leave the place.

Enjoyable evening. Good food. Very noisy environment. Good value

Lovely location and restaurant with good menu particularly the set menu which is very good value for money. Service was on the slow side given the tables were not much more than two thirds full. Food was tasteful and lived up to expectations, however the cost of two small beers was comparatively expensive and the automatic 12.5% service charge at bill time is more than presumptuous, although it is supposedly discretional! Do really want to spoil the occasion by challenging this with the person who has served you adequately but does not warrant such assumption? Overall good experience but would suggest various levels of service charge to be introduced, such as adequate, good, excellent or even poor or sub standard.

Usual table and first class service as always. Food excellent.

Great atmosphere in the restaurant, with all staff very friendly, attentive and polite.

As usual good food. Must admit this is the first time I have actually had to get up to ask for our order to be taken after waiting around 20 minutes+. As there we're only two other table seats occupied found this rather strange . Won't however stop us going there.

As usual we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The food and ambiance as expected. It was my friends birthday and we were given complimentary Pommel cocktails. We had the Chateaubriand to share which was divine. Brett was a star.

As usual pleasant visit with friends and good food. There were not too many people when we arrived, although table had been reserved. Had to actually get up and go to ask after 25 minutes for order to be taken. This has not happened before. After that service was good as on previous visits.

We were given a lovely table by the window upon request (it was a birthday celebration), and looked after very well.

Good food, great service. My husband steak was over cooked but it was remedied within 10 minutes and the staff were very apologetic . Had a great meal regardless of the steak being too well done ❤

Lush lush food, compliments to the chef, everything was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was fab, very attentive and polite. Compliments as usual all round. Will always come back and we always recommend you.

We had a lovely evening for our first visit to Cote in Exeter. There was a super view of the cathedral from our table. The atmosphere in the restaurant had a buzz but the service was calm and efficient. The menu was good and the desserts were particularly yummy. We would be very happy to visit again or to recommend it to others.

Three of us for Dinner. One dish (duck) came out overcooked and had to be replaced- but apart from that the food was very good. Service was excellent.
