Côte Restaurant Exeter

Really enjoyable meal, fab location overlooking the Cathedral and staff were attentive and friendly.

Lunchtime today (Friday 15th) and Cote was very busy - a reflection of its obvious popularity in Exeter. Despite being packed the service was good and the food was enjoyed by us and our guests. Cote is a brilliant formula and always consistent. We are back again in a few weeks.

Fabulous food and great friendly service. Even put a candle in my mums dessert for her birthday as a nice touch.

Unfortunately we were seated by a noisy large party when there were other tables available. The roasted d veg on the goats cheese salad were uninspired and the salad leaves were browned at the ends. Not the usual Cote standard. Disappointing!

Food not so good on this occasion, as was not hot, calamari cold, and minted peas cold, Ribeye steak and fries were only just warm enough, and the pork belly was also only just warm. On a very busy Monday lunchtime, the service was impeccable! The young staff were a delight. Steak and frites could have been a bit warmer so as to enable the butter to melt, but it was still lush! And the puds scrummy. And we were served almost immediately with our complimentary Sidecar Cocktails, excellent!

Everything was amazing just a touch loud to hear the conversation between the two of us

Excellent service. Only reason that there aren't 6 stars is because they forgot the croutons on my cassoulet. The waitress was lovely and sorted it out .

Food and service good although I do not like a gratuity added to the bill even if it is discretionary. Cannot understand why the food trade still feels it necessary to tip staff when you should be paying them a fair wage

Our table was next to the till so we had people next to us all the time, a bit claustrophobic, starter was good my main was not good taste of the beef and the sauce it was in was too strong husband’s lamb was boring. Think it was so busy they had to get rid of us for someone else to use the table the bill was given to us before we had actually asked for it. In and out within an hour Very disappointed

You are a victim of your own success. Just a bit too busy for it to be a completely enjoyable experience. That said excellent food given the volume of customers. Service a bit stretched, but still good. Excellent value lunch. I must remember to book at a slightly less busy time, if there is one. As you know you have a very good business proposition, particularly for places like Exeter.

We eat here regularly. Consistently good service, good food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It feels more like coming to a local independent restaurant rather than one being one of chain. All the staff we have.met in the years we have been eating here are really pleasant and professional and treat you with good humour and respect.

I regularly use Cote Exeter and Cote Haywards Heath. Wednesday's lunch in Exeter was one of the best but they have all been good. Excellent service, pleasant surroundings/atmosphere, good quality food/drinks with generous portions served by friendly/helpful staff and good value.

Six of us went for a family get together. Great vegan & vegetarian options so everyone was happy. Lovely food, service and ambience as ever. Well worth a visit as such super value for money. 10/10

Fantastic! Came with two old school friends visiting for the day. Lovely outlook by a window. Beautiful food and most pleasant waitress. We were on very top floor and are all in our late seventies so a lift would have made it complete.

Whenever I’m working in Exeter I tend to visit Côte on one of the evenings and have yet to be disappointed. Friendly and efficient service and food always good.

Everything was lovely, we had another lovely meal. Excellent service and atomsphere. worth every penny.

Service fantastic Food good tasted wonderful But I had the sea bass with mussels which was warm at best my wife had the butternut squash with poached egg tasted great but again not that hot Warmer plates would have helped

We both had an excellent dinner. The French Onion soup was delicious. As was the boeuf bourguignon and steak. Thank you.

First visit to this branch of Cote in a year. Sat on the top floor - if you can't manage a lot of stairs, be warned. We ate from the Prestige Set menu and a glass of wine each. Although it was heaving at 1pm when we arrived, it was almost empty at 3:30. Excellent food and really, really good service from our waitress Anca who was terrific even by Cote's normal standards. Highly recommended

Our restaurant of choice in Exeter (and elsewhere). Never fails. Could do with more wines being available by the glass (or even carafe) but that's an observation rather than criticism.

Amazing service from start to finish. We enjoyed the complementary kir royale to start. The size of portions were perfect and super tasty starters. Wine was delicious. Mains fantastic and couldn't resist a dessert. Thank you Cote for a very Happy Birthday celebrations!
