We are regular visitors to Cote and on this visit as before, our meal was excellent. Added to this the very pleasant ambiance, and friendly and efficient staff - a winning combination!
Excellent atmosphere, great tasting food, beautifully presented. Excellent service - loved the offer of a free bottle of wine with Cote rewards. Great location overlooking cathedral green
Very helpful service: One of our party had a heart condition which meant a table on the ground floor. Also reduced bill when both wife and I complained the french beans were very substandard!
Very good attentive service, but we were left alone and we were able to enjoy a leisurely dinner with friends and we didn't feel rushed
Friendly, professional and attentive service. Superb food. Fun lively atmosphere upstairs and a quieter more intimate atmosphere downstairs. 10 out of 10! We visit Exeter Cote regularly and will go again soon.
We have been supporters of Cote Brasserie in Exeter since it opened and regularly dine there. We are always impressed with the range of choices of food and the value. Also the staff are very attentive and friendly. Last night we celebrated a small family birthday dinner and were delighted with the complimentary glasses of Kir Royale.
Excellent meal, beautifully cooked tasty fish, lovely wine and good service. Always good value and pleasant staff. We will definitely be back again. Thank you.
I had the crepes with mushrooms and spinach - it was ok - but not worth £10.50! Needed something to give it more 'oomph' - maybe nutmeg or a stronger cheese? The 2-course lunch looked much better value but I was in a hurry and not convinced it would all arrive on time. Lovely setting, view of the cathedral - thanks for arranging that. Thanks for asking and I hope this is helpful.
Booked table on line with no problems staff were very welcoming when we arrived and throughout our meal all the staff were quick, kind and very helpful.
Excellent great food wonderful staff very nice air about the restaurant would tell any body to go and a great wine list it was my birthday and the staff treated me like royalty
Ordered 3 starters of calamari but only received one. Was rectified quickly and was very tasty. Main courses were lovely too. Great value for early menu.
All was fine with food drink etc , but I don't like the Americanism of adding the service charge to the bill .If the service is good a tip will be left but not forced upon you
Had the early evening set menu and it was a delicious meal at a great price with excellent service! Will definitely be returning! Thank you!
We really enjoyed our meal from the set menu, as always, and thought it great value for money. It was my birthday so thank you for the delicious complimentary Kir Royales.
Very good and family friendly. Excellent food - the cote du boeuf was especially good. The view over the cathedral is lovely if you can get a window seat.
I have been eating at cote for years and never had a bad meal. I am gluten free and there is such a good choice on the menu that I can almost forget I have restrictions!
Food and service faultless, as always. This is out "go to" restaurant in Exeter - it's a guaranteed great meal at a very reasonable cost.
As ever pleasant ambience and welcome from staff.I felt the food could have been a bit hotter.Ought to have a low or nil alcohol beer on the menu
Good food. Great service. The manager, particularly, was most attentive and his prompt actions, when there was a minor problem with the breakfast, were much appreciated.
Excellent food, staff and the view is so lovely. Will definitely return. Thanks to Lucy and all the pleasant staff for making our evening special.
Great food and service as always. It was my friend's first visit and she was very impressed with the set menu choice and prices and the quality of the food.
We were there during a busy Saturday lunchtime but the service was very erratic. The whole place looks tired and in need of a facelift.
We had a lovely meal at Côte Brasserie with a table by the window overlooking the cathedral. good atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely make a return visit.
WIDE MENU CHOICE OF QUALITY MATCHED WITH GOOD TABLE SERVICE AND DECORATIVE ENVIRONMENT. NEED TO HAVE EARLY SITTING OTHERWISE BECOMES CROWDED AND NOISY WHICH CAN REDUCE THE OVERAL ENJOYMENT
Superb setting with lovely views of Exeter Cathedral. Lots of choice on the menu. Excellent food with very friendly, professional service. The food was delicious and traditionally French. Very good value for money.
friendly welcome. great food. consistent. good wine. will go again. registering was well worth doing. always worth booking ahead if you can, the online booking that I made on my phone worked perfectly.
The food was of a really good standard and the staff were really friendly as usual. We recommend this restaurant to all of our friends.
Have eaten here before but in the evening. Lunch time service did not feel as friendly and personal. There were crumbs etcetera on the banquette which is a failing in many restaurants not just here.
Lovely setting right beside the cathedral, with a nice ambience, very friendly service and above all, the food was absolutely excellent. I would thoroughly recommend.
Friendly staff, quick service and lovely view from 1st floor. Music far too loud, we did ask for it to be lowered but not sure that happened as difference was negligible. Sound was turned down later when manageress arrived. Our table right beside service point despite restaurant not being full and we should have asked to be moved as staff needed to access glasses and candles etc. Have always highly recommended Cote so was a little disappointed but would ask for a table downstairs next time. Food was good.
I enjoyed a very tasty meal at a very reasonable price. The service was faultless and the ambience of the restaurant was excellent with its wonderful views of Exeter Cathedral and the Cathedral Green. I will be going again very soon.
Excellent as always at Cote Exeter. The 2nd bottle of red on the wine list is very good and a very decent price. I'll be back again soon!
Excellent breakfast on a lovely Sunday morning - breakfast complete and French toast for my husband served by happy, efficient and attentive staff - what more could you want on a Sunday morning?
Today at Cote in Exeter was a bit of a slow start having booked the table for 9.15am but arriving a 9 ish (Saturday) and ordered an English breakfast and a Vegetatarian we had to wait until about 9.35 before the apologetic waiter explained they had been delays in the kitchen quickly after that we were served with the 2x breakfast's which were to the usual High 'Cote' standard which we enjoyed very much and will of course go back again not only for breakfast but also an evening meal in the upper salon overlooking the Exeter Cathedral Green. PS Lovely staff by the way
Altogether excellent. No further words needed and it is quite unreasonable to demand 25 words minimum -it will deter people from replying qqqqqqqqqqqq rr qt grrrrr
This was our second visit here in less than 2 weeks so the set menu was the same. The mussels were very good as was the chicken I had but my wife was disappointed with the sea bream. It had different beans from the one I had previously and there were several bones in the fillet. Service was good.
Table where I requested (despite making the reservation that morning), pleasant staff (as always), excellent food (ate from the specials), just the right wait between courses (restaurant was busy), lovely location (overlooking the cathedral green) - what more can I say? - See you again soon :)
Excellent 3 course set lunch for two. Asparagus x 2, cod Goujons and steak frites, chocolate pot x 2. Very reasonable price and great, attentive service. I would have awarded a '6' except the asparagus portion was a little mean and each spear was split down the middle. Why? Neither of us were very impressed with the new Spring Set Menu. There were several items we would never order, which I suppose pushed us towards the steak frites, and the £2 supplement.
Very personal service, made to feel very welcome when we arrived at the restaurant, staff attentive but not too over the top. Food very tasty and there is an excellent choice for a gluten free. Thank you for a lovely birthday experience :)
From the moment that you walk in the ambience and the welcome from the staff makes you feel at ease. The well-trained staff are happy to help you to make a selection from the wide choice available, both for food and wine. The service is as quick as the number of diners allows and the food is invariably to a high standard. It is a most pleasant way to round off an evening in Exeter.
Very good lunch, but we had to move from the window because it was too hot in the sun. The blinds don't fall down far enough to offer shade there.
As always great service and very good gluten free choices. The food was superb, well presented, very tasty and the recommended wine was just right for our food.
Excellent service - attentive but not intrusive, great food- best calamari i've ever had. Lovely buzz and vibe in the restaurant, would hightly recommend and will certainly be returning the next time I'm in Exeter. Wish there was on e in Northern Ireland!
Never disappoints! This is a brasserie who really know about good fresh local produce and menus that change just enough to keep you coming back again and again!
Lovely meal with very good service. We were not rushed which we appreciated very much. Comfortable table with great view of the Exeter cathedral. Food was reasonably priced and well presented.
Lovely food and great service. Went for breakfast, we ordered the veggie player with bacon(they were very accommodating) the egg royal, all of it was delishious! Will definitely visit again.
This is my favourite restaurant in Exeter. The portion sizes are just right, it means I can have the luxury of three courses. Friendly staff.
As usual we had a lovely meal and experience at Cote. The friends who went with us, had never been there before but were very impressed and are keen to go back.
It was a fantastic meal and the staff were charming. We had a great time - a lively busy place but all was very slick.
Lovely setting overlooking Cathedral Green, great tasting food and pleasant atmosphere. Easy to book online. A bit pricey for families but good for a special occasion, or on lunch offers - just wish vegetables didn't cost extra!!
