Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Cote Exeter. The food was as good as ever and we would particularly like to thank the management for the complimentary glass of Kir they kindly provided "on the house" to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary.

Good food and good service in a nice atmosphere. All our menus choices were delicious and our waiter was very attentive. We thought the three course set menu was very good value.

Food was delicious apart from poulet/frites. Chicken was dry. Very good moules/frites. Only problem is that it is very noisy upstairs and difficult to hear. Absolutely fine once other diners left so fewer people in restaurant. Would recommend.

Lovely meal in a lovely location with excellent staff. We were given a window table which I had requested and had a free bottle of wine via an email voucher which was already known by the waiter so no awkward moment. Food was delicious as always.

We are regular late diners but the staff always make us feel welcome and give us prompt but unhurried attention. The food was good and served quickly which is most important at that time of the evening. The red wine from the Pays d'Oc was excellent.

Unfortunately our evening out was spoilt by one of the main dishes (4 diners) having a piece of broken glass in it. There was an immediate apology and were advised that the item would be removed from the bill. The bill arrived and we then noticed that unfortunately we were overcharged for a glass of wine. Not overly impressed, I think the good will gesture could have been more enhanced for dulling our evening out, not sure if we'll go back. Shame as it was our first visit.

The restaurant was very busy and very noisy. Not very relaxing for a quiet lunch. My steak was ordered medium but arrived rare and I had to ask for another. By the time that arrived my husband had finished his meal. My steak this time was over cooked and so peppery it burnt my mouth! I wondered if this was chef’s revenge? On the good side, I was not charged for my meal.

The upstairs was really noisy with a children’s birthday party this is not how you want to enjoy lunch plastic plates and cake all over the place and the toilets were dirty and had run out of toilet roll having eaten st Côte several times in Exeter Kingston Reading and Covent Garden I was shocked at this standard the food was just ok and my main was cold I couldn’t wait to pay the bill and leave I didn’t even stay for coffee

A mixed experience this visit! Côte is usually excellent across the board , but this time my starter of the charcuterie was spoiled by oily, stale tepid bread which was supposed to be toasted, and there was a small piece of wood in the salad. I did complain but just got an “oh!” From our waitress. Disappointing.

Always good and always busy. The early evening menu is good value for money. Very noisy, difficult for those with hearing aids but no different to any other successful, busy restaurant.

As always, the Exeter Cote Brasserie food was first class - the service too. All your staff should be commended for their excellent service. We eat at Cote's whenever we visit Exeter. Love the atmosphere, the Cote bottled water and your complimentary offers to regular customers. When reserving we always ask for an upstairs window table overlooking the cathedral and appreciate the front desk staff's efforts to accommodate us.

Had to demand a better seating position which was eventually agreed. You are not informed until you arrive that a position by the windows has to be booked in advance. Food of good quality and value. Service was also good Adding gratuity on the wine is unreasonable when the restaurant price is more than three times the price you pay for a similar product at Aldi

Not as good as it normally is. Very busy with just 2 waitress s. Duck over cooked and sauce lacked depth. Waited over 25 minutes to order sweets, but staff too busy. Took another 10 minutes to get the bill. Sad because we use to enjoy Cotes

we went to the cote brasserie in Exeter on a friday night. It was very busy, had to wait to be taken to our table which was upstairs in a crowded room. The background noise from other tables was very loud, we couldn't hear ourselves speak. Even the waiter had a headache from all the noise ! The food however was good, the table service was patchy with so many tables to look after. Not sure we'd go again.

An excellent evening again, lovely service with enough attention without being pestered. Our steak was very good (although we’ve had finer), but both the creme brûlée and cheese board were excellent.

We all thought the meal was excellent and the service was perfect. The loos and back corridor leading there were a little untidy but would definitely go again. The noise level in the restaurant was quite high but in keeping with a popular venue.

We've been visiting Cote ever since it opened in Exeter and before we moved to Devon, in Guildford. Today we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary - it was the obvious choice. There are some restaurants where it's difficult to choose what you want to eat because there isn't anything you really, really want to eat, but at Cote the choice is difficult because you want to eat virtually everything! Thank you to all the lovely, friendly staff and especially for our delicious complimentary bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. We hope to be back soon!
