An excellent restaurant, the food was superb, as was the service. We will definitely be coming again and can thoroughly recommend not only restaurant but also the setting next to the Cathedral Green.
Very good service and meal was lovely. Would go back again. Atmosphere is Lovely, especially this time of year when everyone is in the Christmas mood.
Service wasn't as great as normal when I went to brunch in December 17. We had to keep reminding them to bring things to our table that we ordered. Food was lovely though
Food here is good, although the onion soup had microwave written all over it! Sadly the service was terrible. Shown to our seat by someone who didn't speak or explain anything, 20 min before our drinks order was taken and 45 min between starter and main . Had to ask for the bill while we were still eating. When it came it was slammed down on the table. A poor experience
My halibut was ok but the sauce was too salty. My tarte tatin was tough and chewy. Not a grat meal. There was an intermittent cold draft.
A Very pleasant meal and lovely views over the Cathedral. Had chicken liver parfait and halibut and endive salad and boeuf bourginon - all delicious!
Rushed. Restaurant untidy no lapsed in loo. Table not ready.. food was ok but know where near as good as Bath or Bristol Cotê. Wi-fi shocking
We have been to Cote Exeter on numerous occasions and always enjoy dining there. Good food and wine along with very friendly and efficient dervice.
Much better service than last time a great meal thank you
Excellent as always slight hickup wirh the mains, other than that a great meal.set menu good choice and value for money.Staff very attentive made the evening.
First visit to Exeter. We thought the staff, food and atmosphere were great. Excellent value for money. We will definitely go again and would recommend them to anyone.
Always bang on the money for a great service, polite staff and a varied menu. The restaurant is always clean and well presented with a great atmosphere
Fantastic service and brilliant value for money .We had a table for 5 and all us enjoyed the meal. Full marks to the waitress who was superb.
Restaurant was very busy so glad we booked. Efficient service by friendly staff. The lunch was very tasty good size portions well presented and hot. Overall a very pleasant lunch.
The waitress was attentive and friendly but the manager appeared disinterested. Glass of red wine brought to our table which when poured by the Sommelier had clearly been spilt down the side of the glass and was dripping from the bottom. We had to ask for a fresh glass. Food was very good and the basic menu reasonably priced. Dinner menu was expensive. Although you have an option to decline, I hate being asked about the service charge and always refuse as the money never goes to the staff. Our waitress was rushed off her feet as the other staff did not look overly busy but did not go out of there way to help or friendly, seemed when they had to serve us, it felt as if it was an inconvenience.
The restaurant was unusually busy. The staff coped extremely well and the food and service were both entirely acceptable. However, the overall dining experience was spoiled by the noise level in the extremely full dining room. Conversation was all but impossible.
Another excellent late lunchtime meal from the very good value menu. £13.50 for 3 courses. The moules normandes are delicious as a starter! As always the staff were friendly, efficient & a delight to speak to. Merci beaucoup et Joyeux Noël! ⛄
The service was prompt and polite. Good, well priced food. An outstanding location with a great view of Exeter Cathedral and attendant activity; especially from the upstairs section. Basement Loos a bit of a trek from upstairs though
Food and staff were v.good as usual but tables were crammed in the 1st floor eating area so it was very crowded with little space between them and we were seated at a table in a cold draft with no way of moving. Shame!
Booked for an early lunch. Food Lovely as ever. Lamb dish a little fragrant for my liking but very nice all the same. Great service.
Excellent service as always. Great food and lovely atmosphere as always. Very good value for money especially if having the two or three course special.
Love Cote good food lovely atmosphere but disappointed to find that although I can get a gift voucher it's only valid for 6 months feel this is wrong if I give someone a voucher that money has already been paid so Cote should honour this .Was going to get voucher for my son who loves Cote but didn't due to short time period disappointed
Prompt, pleasant service and tasty food. This restaurant does an early evening menu with two courses for £11.50 or three courses for £13.50. We were attending the cathedral at 7.30 so the early evening menu was excellent value.
I had pre booked the table for Friday lunch time, half of the food on the set menu starters were unavailable and read out incorrectly so when our food finally arrived it was wrong. There was no offer to have my guests food taken and brought out once they rectified their mistake so we were forced to eat our meals at seperate times, we then had to wait nearly an hour for our mains. The chicken was greasy and wasn’t hot and the salmon fish cakes were burnt. Overall really disappointing experience. When voicing our concerns with the quality we were told it was the managers fault for not explaining the menu enough- but no apology or even any acknowledgement from the manager. As way of an apology they took off 2 soft drinks from the menu and tried to charge us for the ‘optional’ service charge. Would not reccomend at busy periods.
We had a very good meal and the staff were most helpful as our French guests were delayed causing confusion, which the staff dealt with sympathetically and professionally
Always a lovely setting and the food is exquisite. Had issues with bit the starters and mains. Staff offered some compensation to rectify which helped.
Lovely ambience, delicious food and a fantastic view. Went on a Friday evening and were given a window seat so we had an amazing view of the cathedral and xmas markets.
Food is always excellent! & the staff are very nice ! If you sit downstairs the door opening all the time makes it a little chilly & upstairs it's always noisy!
We made a query to the manager, as the menu today was not the menu we booked for. We were sat under a ventilation outlet which was very cold and we all put our coats back on, not ideal at all. The manager did B serve our actions and agreed to adjust the temperature. We unfortunately were not impressed today. N Foster
We often eat at Coté Exeter. The service is very good and the food is always excellent 👍 Sometimes it can be a bit noisy but it’s ok 🙂
Usual good service and excellent food. Location of this restaurant is second to none. Staff very polite. Good to see that another floor has been renovated in the restaurant.
An excellent lunch overlooking Exeter cathedral. Delicious food, attentive staff and excellent value for money. We had a great time and will definitely return there.
Excellent as usual. Second trip in a week. It’s becoming abitnof a habit now Many thanks yet again
book mon to fri not good value on weekends. its a bit much when a service charge is added without your consent I would rather make that choice myself.
An excellent meal with excellent service and attention from staff. Food was beautifully cooked and presented. A really enjoyable dining experience and would definitely revisit.
The food was excellent but unfortunately the service was poor. We finished the meal with coffee which was luke warm - normally I would have asked for it to be replaced but the service was poor and it was difficult to get anyone's attention. Sadly this visit fell short of what I would have expected and have previously experienced.
Excellent service friendly and speedy. Food was of a very high standard and we had a great family lunch. We will definitely visit again in the near future.
An amazing meal. Staff very attentive and friendly. A lovely evening. It did become very noisy due to a large group who came in...christmas high spirits. Other than that it was a very enjoyable evening. Thank you
Was a lovely meal considering it was so busy but the food was excellent as usual really enjoyed the Kir royals for our party also visited Cote Dorchester last Saturday an again was excellent love your restaurants thank you
This is an annual treat before Xmas Shopping. We look forward to it all year. This year though was not up to the normal standards. The plates were cold and the food was only luke warm. Upon arrival they weren’t expecting us despite having booked a table for 6 nearly 2 weeks before. Then to top it off they apply a 12.5 gratuity without asking - this is rude. Going to have to find somewhere new for next year!
Always consistently excellent food with a monthly fixed lunch menu which is very good value for money and always excellent friendly service - our favourite lunch spot in Exeter.
Food and service excellent as usual but the restaurant was very full, busy and understandably noisy. I will avoid December in future! Still my favourite place!
Great welcome on an extremely busy day for the restaurant in the lead-up to Christmas. Our booked table was ready immediately. Service and food was excellent. My wife and I were impressed also by the fact the plates were still warm after we'd finished our meals.
Family birthday meal at our favourite restaurant. Lovely table with views of the Cathedral and great meal and service.
Surprise dinner out. Delicious meal & great service on a busy evening.
Did a pre-order as requested due to time constraints & 8 guests. Service was slow. The meals were delicious and the usual quality maintained. The 5 desserts took over 35 minutes from order to being served.
Dish served without described sauce so had to be returned and then replaced. Otherwise, despite being busy, service was good and the rest of the meal enjoyable.
The staff at Côte were very friendly and attentive, the service was great. Good choice of food on the menu and it was well presented and tasty.
Staff were good, we arrived a little early and were given a lovely table in the window overlooking the Christmas market. I had the Breton seafood stew which I’ve had before and was delicious.
Lovely food and service friendly staff ambiance slightly squashed tables could do with more room but did not stop us enjoying the meal and night
