We went to celebrate a family birthday and were not disappointed. Lovely food and extremely polite and attentive staff especially Domenico Mancini. Thank you. We always find the quality consistent.
Nice but one main was cold when they arrived. All sorted with little fuss and more than the cost of the main taken off the bill without asking Nice staff
Very busy, long waits, around 40 mins before our order was taken. Food ok but nothing special, my friends chicken was very dry. Desserts nice.
Good food. Busy night on a Friday. Service is good even when busy. Everyone seemed friendly. Reasonable prices which gave the food good value for money.
Great service and food. Friendly staff. Wine was top quality too. It was our wedding anniversary and no complaints so thanks guys, we had a great evening.
Very good lunch, the service was slightly slow but they were very busy. Food was excellent and it was good value for money. I asked for a window seat when I booked and they managed to find us one, so very happy.
We are regular customers here and always enjoy the French spin coupled with the iconic view of the west front of Exeter cathedral. One bonus tonight was the Treviac Corbieres by the glass rather than having to buy a full bottle. Cote is probably the best of the chains by a mile (or even a kilometre in their case). Whenever I ask my wife about where to go - Cote is usually first choice.
The food and service as usual was excellent but we feel let down by the Kir. We have kir in France and at home but the one served by Cote is insipid and no taste of blackcurrant. Just coloured the wine pink>
Good food with a good choice of menu and wine, great value for money, friendly staff who are willing to converse with you. Always an enjoyable experience.
Very nice lunch.Very busy so service a little slow but still very enjoyable. We shall be returning. Nice to have different monthly menus for the set lunch.Great value
Another lovely evening spent with friends at Cote Exeter. The food was delicious and the wine even better! The service was good and the waiter was friendly.
My favourite restaurant. Always meets expectations, friendly staff and wonderful food. One of my lunch friends requires gluten free food and this is the only restaurant I know that offers an extensive range of menu choices.
we had our usual fabulous experience in both thecote Exeter and Cirencester!! all in the same weeks we keep coming back...why is my Husband Davi Pitt not a member of Rewards anymore??please answer
Not quite up to the usual standard I have come to expect regarding service. Food excellent, as usual. Serving staff very good, but the food took much longer than usual to come from the kitchen. Applied to both starters and mains. Restaurant was busy, but by no means full (6.15pm on Saturday, 17th February). Can the kitchen really cope with the opening of he extra floor? Ken Mills
Service was great as usual. Only reason why I didn’t give it a 6 was that whilst the steak was good it was not fantastic like my previous visit two weeks ago
Enjoyed a leisurely lunch with friends . Service was attentive and not intrusive. Food excellent and really good value. Looking forward to returning soon!
Not as efficient as normal. Red wine was as usual very acceptable. While wine on the sweet side. Overall experience was not as good as it normally has been.
Excellent as always. Very nice to be seated on the newly opened 2nd floor with an excellent view of the Cathedral. Delicious 3-course lunch for two people including drinking and the 12.5% service charge only £41. Lookinf forward to my next visit already.
We were at Cote for lunch with two friends. The quality of the food was the usual high standard and the set menu excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and very good.
We ate at Cote on Sunday last, excellent choice, beautifully cooked and presented food, extremely helpful and pleasant staff. We also ate there on Monday and Tuesday evenings - enough said!!
Great food, great service as always. It is our go to restaurant. Really good atmosphere every time we have visited this cotes restaurant. Worth a visit.
Excellent service in a very pleasantly pleasant environment The staff were excellent but overall the quality of the food I found disappointing I had the moules they were small and rather old looking Overall a pleasant place to lunch but food could be improved
Always have a brilliant meal here the staff are attentive and prompt and always polite!
A wonderful atmosphere, amazing food, lovely waitresses. We will definitely be eating here again. Lovely evening for our sons 19th birthday thank you so much.
Thoroughly lovely lunch with old friends, attentive, kind staff. The only issue we had was one cold cup of coffee, but this was quickly rectified.
Staff friendly and helpful. Noisy at busy times. Just a few green leaves with my steak expecting a little more for value compared with other restaurants, no steak knife, at least 2 plate drops by staff on the evening we went. But having said this will go again !
Lunch was delicious. My.mother and I had the two course special which was very good value for money. My son loved his calamari and extra frites which I find surprising for an 8 year old and we felt the service was prompt and polite. It was in the heart of lunchtime and I felt neither rushed or a long wait. Will certainly come again
An excellant three course dinner. Plenty of food and drink to choose from. Free drink as a birthday meal. Lovely surroundings and attentive staff. Service was prompt.
It started off well but the service deteriorated. Adjacent tables, who had arrived after us, were served before us. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared after our main course while the table next to us ( who received and finished their main course after us) had their plates cleared, received and finished their sweet!!! The food was up to its usual high stand
We felt a little like we were part of a conveyor belt! Very noisy and not enough attention to customers. Meal was good. Thank you.
Food was fine. Waitress took wrong order, so we had a very lovely big wait while it was rectified. We were given complimentary drinks by way of apology.
We went for the early evening menu. The place was busy, staff were great, food good for the price you pay. No complaints as a meal before the cinema.
Friendly staff and good food made this a very enjoyable lunch. Everything lived up to our expectations. The crème caramel was the best I’ve ever tasted.
The food was as always superb, but the service was very slow. It took over 20 minutes for someone to take our order & drinks, then our starter arrived before our drinks which wasn’t ideal. However I can’t fault the food, it was delicious.
My steak tasted good but my husband's chicken was awful. It lacked flavour and had a weird steamed texture and the marks of the chargrill seemed purely cosmetic. It gave the impression of having been microwaved. My steak looked equally phony but actually tasted fine and the overall exprience was generally good otherwise. The waiter was a bit offhand though, if pleasant enough.
we had the Valentines set meal, with wine pairings. The smoked salmon starter was lovely, I enjoyed the crème brule too. The duck in the main course was cooked well the potatoes tasted nice but it was as if they had been left out on the side for a while as they weren't that hot, the dish could have done with a vegetable accompaniment too. We were disappointed with the service and felt that the staff had been overstretched, we arrived and were seated and the waitress came and asked "what puddings we wanted", a good start! I had to ask for our Kir Royale drinks to be served as the waitress forgot to bring them. The service was very slow, not just for us but for others around us too. The main course took ages to be served and we had to ask for the dessert menu too. It was a real shame as we'd travelled up from North Devon especially for the evening and it was somewhat disappointing.
Very nice meal, good service. However people queuing to get in to the restaurant and leaving the door open throughout the night spoilt an otherwise good evening.
Excellent experience will come again, service was very good and attentive
Great ambience .Food and service is so so very good.
Food excellent as usual but the service was a little slow. Good menu choices and some seasonal variations. Very good wine choices but some recommendations would have been good.
Can't get enough of this place! Again the food was incredible and welcoming staff! A 3rd floor has been opened and still lovely atmosphere to be in
The food was good but I was kept waiting for quite a long time on arrival and also the restaurant was extremely hot to the point that it killed my appetite!
Excellent service, lovely food and ambience. We will be visiting again! Thank you. I have to add a minimum of 25 words for the review apparently.. so yes, great, we will be back!
It was busy, and we had to wait for our table. But overall happy as always
Food good but a bit chaotic at the entrance when about 10 people who hadn't booked were trying to find out if there were any spaces ( which there weren't). 3 groups of us who had booked took about 10 minutes to get in. After that it got better and we really enjoyed our meal which was good value.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. Excellent service. The food again today was superb. Love Cotê !
Very pleasant meal, good service. Nice range of dishes and drinks on the menu. Excellent ambience overlooking Cathedral Square. Very busy for a Thursday evening, so obviously doing something right!
Good food and service despite being very busy. Could have been a bit quicker with the bill. The menu could do with a few more varied dessert choices
Excellent restaurant and friendly staff. Most enjoyable breakfast in a beautiful setting. I would recommend this as a great place to meet with friends. The manager of Côtes in Exeter was very welcoming. I will definitely be visiting again!
A very pleasant evening - great food, attentive staff, and a lovely view of the Cathedral in the moonlight. The early evening menu is very good value for money, too.
