Really nice meal, sad green beans got forgotten. Cheerful and helpful service. Clean and attractive setting. Loved the muscles, chicken chasseur and crème caramel. Will definitely return
Excellent service and food - rather noisy, but that's because it is so popular! Staff are very attentive and friendly. Wine selection is superb in quality and price.
This was a really good dining experience: attentive staff, great food, good value, fabulous location; this really could not have been better. we will certainly be back
Have been here three times and this time was the best although the others were excellent. I could be wrong but it appeared that the table d hote menu was bigger and better choices. The staff were excellent. Food and drink was excellent. Will definitely be going again
Really excellent service. Went with boyfriend for his birthday and the staff were so welcoming and attentive. Food was excellent and amazing value - would always recommend
Tasty lunch and excellent value for money with the fixed price lunch menu. Buzzy, vibrant atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will return.
Really lovely venue. Good food, efficient and polite staff. Can find no fault. Looks small from outside but has plenty of room upstairs with lovely views of Exeter cathedral.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal -the fish mains dishes were great and just that little bit different, the desserts were a must and the service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, good-humoured, knowledgeable and professional, plus a lovely dash of local Sicilian colour! I expect to be back with a different group next week.
I love Côte and would highly recommended it. The food is fantastic!
The food was excellent, very tasty dishes and lots of choice. The service was very good as well, the staff were very attentive and friendly.
We went to celebrate my daughters birthday. The service was wonderful and all food was delicious. We had the special offer menu and there was a great choice of all three courses. Will be returning soon.
Côte never fails to serve up consistently great food with great service and an impressively varied wine list. The lunch/early dinner option is staggeringly good value.
Delicious crab starter, duck and chicken mains, followed by a lemon tart. Accompanied by a lovely chenin blanc. Lovely venue, great location and service. Recommended.
Lovely venue for a post-work drink. Friendly service as always.
A very disappointing evening in Cote this time. Really love it usually but service really bad. Had to wait 20 minutes just to order drink. Then two choices off early bird menu were not available! Choice offered wasn't at all what we would normally choose. The fish is usually delicious. Also had a deal which we mentioned twice in advance of arriving and again on arrival and still the bill was wrong when it finally came. Had to ask again for it to be adjusted. Tip automatically added which normally happy to give but service was so bad! Shame! As usually excellent.
Really lovely food in great setting ! Chicken liver parfait was perfect starter - service was excellent too.! Would definitely go there again - highly recommended
As always, good service and great food. Very busy at lunchtime, but staff kept on top of it. I just keep on going back because it's reliably good, and the creme caramel is wonderful.
As good as always. Excellent service, great food and lively atmosphere. Thoroughly recommended. Whether it’s for a coffee catch up or for lunch or for dinner this restaurant always meets expectations
The sea bass was over cooked but they very willingly cooked another. Second time perfection. My wife and I are regular diners here and this is only the second time the food has been less than very very good.
The food was good, the service was good, although quiet it was after normal lunch hour, ambience still good. Will be returning in the near future.
We booked for 1.15 pm for the Mothers' Day brunch (which was available until 2.00 pm). When we arrived at 1.15 pm we had to wait a while to be seated and then they did not give us the brunch menu. We asked for this and it took a while to arrive. Apart from that everything was good. The service improved and was efficient and friendly and we really enjoyed the food and drink.
We are regulars and were not disappointed with the breakfasts or the service. We forgot to order one of the dishes to have spinach without garlic and it was replaced without fuss. The seats downstairs in the window were well placed to see the cathedral
The food was enjoyable but the experience was a little strange for a few reasons: My husband asked for white toast for his breakfast as you get a choice between white and brown and the waitress then came back to ask if he really had to have white because the chefs were being ‘chefy’ and didn’t want to serve white bread. There was also a short black hair in our daughters fruit salad. I also heard a waitress tell two other patrons ‘oh god, I hope I don’t look like a mother - I’m definitely not old enough to be a mother! It was Mother’s day. I found that rather insulting to say the least. Strange experience.
Bit noisy upstairs in restaurant and my chicken was overdone and dry. Flavours good though. Chocolate pot dessert was delicious and we also had a free glass of bubbly.
We have been enthusiasts of Cote since it first opened and the team are always friendly, polite and professional. The food is very much to our liking and we find the prices very fair. Please do not alter anything!
Had a lovely lunch at Cote. The food was beautiful with a good choice of menu and excellent value. Staff very pleasant and helpful and the restaurant is in a lovely location overlooking Exeter cathedral.
Food was good, tasty and quick to arrive. In particular, they ensured that dessert order still allowed us to leave for a concert in time. I knocked over a glass and they quickly came and cleared the broken glass away.
Lovely lunch, excellent service and value for money. We can always rely on Cote, wherever we are, to provide a consistent quality and we have never been disappointed.
Pleasant meal, good value, friendly staff, nice location (despite the rebuilding next door!)... Cote offers a great set menu choice - wish there was one in Plymouth...
One of our party ordered the steak frite, the meat was tough and half of it was uneaten. This was brought to the waitresses attention who stated that it was the fault of the supplier. Took a long time to take dessert orders.
Great breakfast. Delicious food and nice atmosphere. We had to struggle to get the bill but I would really recommend Cote for a special breakfast
Service was ok and food was good. Unfortunately there seemed to be a probelm with our starters as they took over 30 mins to arrive.
We love cote and have said so on TA. However last night things were not quite as slick and as perfect as usual. Food as ever was excellent but service was a bit perfunctory and not up to standard
Lovely atmosphere, great food and nice service. I have never been to Cote, but always planned to go. I decided to have a pleasant meal prior theatre and I wasn't disappointed. I will go again!
Wonderful food and excellent service but noise level in upstairs restaurant spoiled experience. We decided not to stay for dessert due to excessive noise. The location is perfect , overlooking Cathedral.
Excellent service. It was very busy for a Monday lunchtime. We sat upstairs. It was a bit noisy and a bit hot! We really enjoyed the starters.
Glad we had a free breakfast offer. The food was fine but the service was poor - one poor waitress trying to cope with a busy service whilst her colleagues were having a “meeting” . Not up to the normal high standard we have come to expect
The actual restaurant has a lovely ambience, the food is wonderful and the staff and service are fabulous. It is also excellent value for money. I have never had a bad experience there. Highly recommend.
Excellent, as always at Cote Exeter. Three of us met up and had a lovely lunch. Cannot fault the staff , menu or the food.
Very pleasant surroundings, good service and great food. The resturant is in close proximity to parking within Exeter and is easy to find. Recomended place to go
Lovely meal and service was very good, however we requested a table by the window and this wasn’t given.
A very nice Mothers Day meal at Exeter branch. Veg risotto very good, as was meat platter for sharing starter. The staff were polite, helpful and entusiastic.
Outstanding the other half’s favourite place to dine treated her to a mother’s day meal no complaints whatsoever keep up the good work we will be back time and time again
Great, always. Always seated upstairs when we ask. Never an issue for them
Great as per usual. We really like this Côte after visiting many this one is still our favourite. Never fails. Luckily is the closest to us too.
Cote generally good but tonight almost no fish available and green beans were substituted for the peas. They blamed it on Mothering Sunday but one would have thought they would have been prepared for it. The two fish eaters in our group of four were not impressed
it was very busy, as to be expected on mothering Sunday however the speed of service was still very good.
Lovely staff and food, just shame it was so busy as we had to ask for drinks, bread (to go with cheese board as only the cheese arrived!) and bill as waited so long on three separate occasions. However, the staff were really helpful and polite and were all working like Trojan’s and so they must have been exhausted.
Excellent food as usual. Two fish dishes not available. Service was slow and our order went wrong but it was Mothers Day and they were working flat out. Full marks for trying and no one gets it right all the time.
Pretty good for chain stuff. Was Mother's Day so lots of noisy kids about, but that goes with the territory. Could do more to dampen the general noise anyway though as it's all reverberating hard surfaces with little partitioning. Staff attentive without being intrusive, separate menus for things like gluten-free and vegetarian (not sure about vegan) with a fair selection and not too boring.
