Service good as always. Attentive staff, great view of the cathedral, lovely food ( great dessert!! ) will definitely recommend to friends and will be back next time in Exeter! 😊

Excellent well presented and executed meals. Staff were friendly helpful and with ready smiles. A really enjoyable lunch. We will go again and recommend to friends.

A really nice branch overlooking the cathedral, first floor probably the best of the three levels. Really smart , good service, good food. Well worth a visit.

Slow service. Waited for ten minutes before anyone came over to us to take our order and that was only because we asked them to. They forgot our second round of drinks and we had to ask for the bill twice. Very disappointing considering it’s such a lovely place normally.

Great food and service. We were upstairs , tables were close together, it was quite echoey that it was difficult to hear each other speak.

Very good food and most of the staff happy to be there apart from the ‘wine waiter’ who served us first. He seemed a bit aloof but warmed up after the first hour. Tip is included in the bill. Views out to the cathedral brilliant so ask for a window seat if you can.

The meal was very good but the table next to us was so noisy shouting really loud we were glad when their meal came but they were still shouting i did complain to the waitress who agreed withme i hoped she would ask them to tone it down a bit but she didn't want to. Didn't expect them to be quiet but certainly not as loud as they were. Kinda spoilt the evening

Good wine & food selection, well priced and excellent food and service. Brilliant location overlooking the Cathedral from the second floor tables by the windows, recommend highly!!!!!!

Everything about Cote Exeter is always a nice experience, the food and service did not disappoint, as always, and we cannot wait for our next visit.

A reasonably priced meal . Good service and good quality food .Still felt and tasted pre-prepared and heated up rather than cooked fresh to order which is I suppose not so unusual now . Just brought my opinion down a notch or two .

We had a lovely evening. Table with a view of the. Cathedral. Very friendly staff. The food was very good- starter and main both first class.

They were running late with our table, although they gave us some complimentary drinks and snacks while we were waiting. The food was delicious and very good service.

We were given a lovely seat overlooking the Cathedral. Service was perfectly paced. The haddock was delicious. The dark chocolate pot was indulgent as usual.

Lovely food, stunning view from table.waitress attentive but very good at upselling which could irritate. Don't agree with 'discretionary service charge' of 12.5% being added to Bill. Would rather tip waitress myself.

Very nice place for a family meal. Nice view on Cathedral Green from the first floor. Friendly staff. Not our first visit and most likely not our last. Cheers

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. There service was very good and the quality of the food and the presentation were excellent. I have recommended to friends and will be returning.

Food was very good, the duck lovely and pink and a very tasty fish soup. Good wine selection. and attentive staff made for a great evening.

Great staff, good food. Swift and polite service. Never had a bad meal here. Worth visiting and cost is sensible. Starters, mains, puddings and great selection of wines.

As on previous visits, we received first class service and excellent food, we are never disappointed and will be back again when next in Exeter.

Good welcoming atmosphere on a cold rainy night with good food and drink and efficient and charming service made for a pleasurable experience. Excellent venue.

There was no greeting on arrival. Staff were quite unorganised. The food was slow but quite good. The waitress did do her best to recover the situation.

This was my 1st visit and I will definitely be returning. The food was lovely and the staff were very helpful. It was my daughters birthday and she was very impressed too. Hopefully we shall return soon.

Food was great. Location great. Treatment by staff... a little off-hand. I would have liked my server to have engaged with me rather than feeling like I am being spoken to... very blunt.

Great - food was excellent as was the atmosphere. Sat upstairs and ate with my wife and daughter - had a really nice time. Would recommend.

The meal was excellent but it was very busy and because of that, very very noisy such that we could not hold a proper conversation as hearing each other was difficult. Also we were put on a table by the coffee machine and every time a staff member emptied old coffee grounds they 'whacked' the holder on the side of the bin and the sudden noise of that went straight through my head. SO, very good food, enjoyable meal, but not very comfortable atmosphere for us. (NB we went at 6.30 pm - we were told that if we had booked earlier or later, it would have been better).

Lovely meal. Well presented. Service was quick and a very informed & helpful member of staff on food and intolerances. I will definitely be returning.

Service somewhat slow at a busy lunchtime - food good, price reasonable. Will almost certainly visit again. Gratuity added at 12.5 per cent- quite enough.

The food and service was excellent as usual but we did find it difficult to have a conversation as there was a large noisy party sat near us.

Our first visit was recommended by friends also went with other friends that had not been before. Have to say the food and service was great .

Great meal great price no need to leave tip as service charge. The 3 courses just over £13 and all delicious. Really enjoyed and buzzy atmosphere.

A great lunch to celebrate our Diamond Wedding. Not only were our friends good company but the excellent food and wines overlooking the magnificent cathedral helped make our day

Food is always good here but the service today was so slow. Despite asking where the desert was no apology when it finally did arrive bWhen I asked for the bill it arrived but no one came to take our money, so we took it to the till and waited for he change. Far too busy with poor service. More staff needed!!

Service could not be faulted but food quality not great four steaks ordered cooked perfectly but two only half edible due to excessive sinew and grissle

My husband and I dined early at 5.30pm, so before it got busy later on and when taken to our table we were given a table for four, whereupon, I asked for a table for two by the window & was promptly told it was already booked, I had booked also, not quite sure how the system works at Cote but get feeling they don’t like you to not like the table you are given! Otherwise food was very good and staff quite amiable.

Lovely food and great service but a bit cheeky with the automatic 12% service charge. No way of opting out of it without sending the bill back which would be embarrassing so we just paid it.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were taken to our table and then ignored by all the passing waiting staff for upwards of 10 minutes (during which time diners who had arrived after us were offered drinks and had their orders taken). When I finally cornered a waitress, she said that one of her colleagues would attend to out table. A few moments later, she came back herself, apologised for the wait and took our order. From that moment on the service was up to Cote's usual high standard and the food was excellent.

Always enjoy visiting Cote in Exeter, and this evening was no exception. Great food that’s excellent value. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. And the service excellent.

Fantastic restaurant. Natalia and Niall looked after me very well. Food was delicious. The charcuterie board to start was plentiful and the duck was exceptionally tender, gratin potatoes and cherry sauce too. Would definitely return.

Excellent meal and value for money. The staff at this restaurant never fail to go the extra mile on service. It is a firm favourite with us.

We eat at Cote every week. A key reason for that is that (unlike many other restaurants) the volume of the (junk) music is relatively low. Keep it that way (or better still, turn the music off altogether: surveys show that most people do not want it).

Really nice food. My children love coming here. Condescending waitress spoiled the experience. I asked for the bill and she plonked it in the middle of the table rather than giving it to me and argued that she had done nothing wrong (even though I wanted to treat my family and I felt the bill should have been handed to me as the person who had requested it). Combined with the condescending and dismissive service she had offered throughout the meal, I decided not to leave the optional gratuity - something which I very rarely do.

The food was great as was the staff and the atmosphere. All contributed to a great time in Exeter. Will definitely come again and recommend to others.

Really enjoyed it. Our first time there but certainly won’t be our last. Although very busy we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Staff were lovely.

We had a lovely meal, food was delicious and reasonable as we had the fixed price menu. The service was mostly good but the waitress forgot my water on 2 occasions.

Excellent service, good food at a very reasonable price . Always find Cotes standards very consistent both with service and quality of the food served

Sophisticated but relaxed and easy atmosphere. Good service and food exactly as expected - basic French café food. Will return on next trip to Exeter.
