Côte Restaurant Exeter

The service as ever was good and the food was good, just a little disappointed that several favourite items were off the menu. Catering for gluten free excellent.

As always at Côte Exeter the view of the cathedral from the upstairs room was stunning. The staff and food came up to expectation and we shall soon be bCk

Breakfast was not as good as normal. There was very little Maple syrup on my husband's French toast and my fruit with breakfast complet tasted a bit off which is most unusual! Still we will be back!

As always we were happy with the service and all my guests very much enjoyed their breakfast so far we have never been disappointed with the service. food or cost !!

Rather noisy as a large family table nearby, better once we moved. Food was good and staff were efficient and pleasant. Shame we couldn’t get a window table.

excellent meal and service, we had bubbles on the house for our anniversary, and lovely view of the cathedral, recommend for sure, we will be back. Need more vegetarian options but our meals were excellent

The food and service were excellent as always. I just don't appreciate the 12.5% tip being added to my bill. I would happily leave a tip but at my discretion. I know I had the right to remove the tip which I did but I felt akward having to explain I wanted it removed.

Very quick service, retaining a considered and personal approach. Our waiters were attentive and helpful, whilst also allowing us to enjoy our evening in a private manner

My favourite restaurant in Exeter, the best location overlooking the Cathedral, excellent food, great service, great value set menu, what more can you ask for?

Food and service excellent as usual.Very busy but the staff managed to serve speedily and with a smile. A little problem with the noise level but not surprising as all tables were taken.

The staff were very helpful and attentive, the food and drinks were excellent. The view out onto Cathedral square from our upstairs table was amazing.

Excellent service, all desires met. Food was perfect as usual. However on my two most recent visits (this one included) I have been served warm-cold chips and had to request fresh.

Excellent service, couldn't fault it. Food was excellent as were the staff. Always enjoy our visits to the restaurant. I requested a seat by the window upstairs for our wedding anniversary meal. I was so pleased that this was delivered because the restaurant was already busy and I know that these requests aren't always possible at peak times. Excellent, thank you.

Great staff and venue. The food and service are a given but the way you are served is great. It’s my favourite restaurant in the UK.

Good service, decent food and drink. There are always nice specials and it's a consistent experience across the country. We'll be going back fairly soon.

Cote has brilliant service, lovely food and a great atmosphere. Also beautiful views of the Cathedral if you are seated upstairs. Also the complimentary G&T was amazing!!

We had a lovely relaxing experience at Cote Exeter. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious. Top marks for position of restaurant in Cathedral Green.

We had a lovely lunch at Cote last week. The Chicken salad was delicious, as was my friends Hake. The dessert of frozen berries was lovely. Our only slight query was that I responded to an e-mail from Cote advertising a free new cocktail if a main course was ordered. SO we did order a main meal, but it wasnt from the menu with the cocktail, so we had to pay,,which was okay, except I suppose we had expected a free drink !!! Otherwise, it was a very nice lunch. We find Cote consistently good.

The food was very good. The only thing that let down our evening was the awful noise. Like a majority of modern places the acoustics are terrible, which makes the the general conversation of the guests become a cacophony.

Overall, a fantastic meal- great food, excellent value, in a fantastic location and with an unforced French feel. One of the best restaurants in Exeter. To be honest, I have to report that the tarte au citron had soggy pastry, but we just chose another dessert. Plus, last time, it was perfect.

Excellent food and service, despite being virtually fully booked throughout our visit. However we did find the noise levels upstairs overwhelming at times, and we would request a table downstairs in future as it seemed to be much quieter.

Last week I visited Cote twice and The service was excellent the food was just as expected and both of our visits were with friends Both pairs were very happy with both food and service .But you had run out of creme brulee Thamks Hugh Davey

Great stop opposite the cathedral. There’s a upstairs and downstairs giving great views. Food delicious as always at Cotes. We had burgers and roast chicken.

Very friendly and polite staff and excellent choices and quality of food was wonderful. I would definitely recommend cote to friends and family a great experience

The food itself was fine - but two of the hot meals were served on cold plates so by the time the food reached us it was barely warm. We had to ask twice for one of the sides because that had not been brought. We asked for the 'optional' service charge not to be added to the bill as we did not feel it deserved the full 12.5%. However, one of the waiting staff we had (a pleasant young lady with brown hair) served us very well and very pleasantly (the taller lady with blond hair was a little brusque when we asked about the missing side) and thus we did leave a cash tip equivalent to 10%.

Wonderful food and lovely staff. One of my favourite places to go in Exeter. A lovely location too as it looks out over the Cathedral.

Poor selection of starters available from the pre 7pm menu - only 2 of 5 starters were still in stock. Poor service - no substitutions for example

As always, a good variety on the menu and very pleasant serving staff. The restaurant, for once!, wasn't too busy, so service was quite quick. Efficient to book online in advance.

We were sat at a table by the window so had a lovely view of the cathedral. Nice atmosphere and lovely food. The drinks were expensive.

My party enjoyed the food very much. The portion sizes were good and the food was very tasty. Service was a little slow, we waited about 15 minutes even to get a drink order taken,, but they were very busy in there. We were sat upstairs also found it pretty noisy, and difficult to have a conversation and be heard by each other. I am not sure if it was the acoustics in there as nobody seemed especially raucous! We found it a little annoying that they added a gratuity of 12.5% to the bill. It stated it was optional, and we fully intended to leave a tip, but it left us with an unpleasant feeling about it.

The team and food was great - it was my grandmothers 90th birthday and the lovely touch of happy birthday written on the desert plate made her evening - thank you

I was very disappointed and Upset. We w ere day for 1/2 hr before I had to call the waiter over to ask them to clear, had to ask for our mains, when that came out my steak was rare and not cooked to how I had asked, and then halfway through the meal my friend was eating her food to find smash china in it which had chipped her tooth. I’ve always gone here and loved it every time it was my birthday and it was unfortunately spoilt.

A great family meal at Cote Exeter this evening. Considering the restaurant was packed, the service was excellent - friendly and helpful - and the food of a high standard.

Excellent meal. Good service. Very enjoyable evening. Easy to book. Good value. We shall definitely return in the very near future with friends and family.

As usual, the meal was very good, although the portions of the main course were a little on the small side. We will visit again soon.

Always an amazing experience! Food was lovely with a new menu and staff very friendly. We are always given a friendly welcome and love coming here.

As always very enjoyable meal, very good service despite it being very busy. Had Cod Goujons for the first time and they were large and well cooked. Also has Kir Royal on a promotion. Going back this coming Sunday for a birthday celebration.

It was a very hot day so we sat inside the restaurant near the window. |However, it was extremely noisy due to fact the coffee machine with cups and saucers is located in the centre. The whoosing of steam, hot water and clattering of crockery made it almost impossible to hear. However set lunch extremely good value and delicious

The service was not that good , we had to go and ask for water and also to place our order , will think twice about going again sadly

Food and drink absolutely divine. Excellent friendly and professional service. Steak Frites and the Tarte au Citron are highly recommended. Thoroughly enjoyable with a great view of the cathedral

Fantastic food and a brilliant lively atmosphere, overall a great night out with the girls! The fillet steak was was really well cooked and the service was attentive and friendly.

We asked if we could sit upstairs by the window as it a lovely view looking at Exeter cathedral which was lovely. Service was excellent and food was lovely.

Enjoyed a brilliant lunch, great service and excellent food. Good atmosphere in very good surroundings, would recommend, and will definitely return. Compliments to the chef and the Italian waiter.
