Côte Restaurant Exeter

The food and wine were absolutely delicious, and the service was very attentive but not over the top. Everyone says hello and goodbye to you, even the kitchen staff as you walk past :)

The service is good and the staff friendly, but the restaurant is very noisy with all the chatter - nothing to muffle the sound. It made conversation a bit difficult.

Lovely food,great service. Chose from early dinner menu, great choices although the pudding we chose had run out, we were offered a near alternative, after asking.

An excellent lunch, as usual, with very friendly and efficient staff. This restaurant is opposite the beautiful Exeter Cathedral - what better place to eat?

Well what can I say the Food was excellent as was the service and a table with a view overlooking the cathedral. We have been Cote many times and never been disappointed. It truly is an amazing experience.

Very good food and terrific value. Slight glitch with main course but put right very quickly. Delightful service. Visited twice during our 3 day stay in Exeter.

Seemed more stretched than usual - staff less happy and attentive . Food was fine - waited longer for main course, although less full than usual.

Staff helpful regarding gluten free options for young child and were friendly but service was slow, waiting a while to place orders and food was a while to come out and they seemed stretched.

Good food, fair prices, but watch out for the added "gratuity" which the staff don't get. It's optional so ask for it to be removed BEFORE you pay the bill.

Excellent service and delicious meal in relaxed atmosphere. Couldn’t fault our evening, always good value and quantities just right. A lovely evening enjoyed by our party of six.

A classy place with fab French fare. Thoroughly enjoyed a 1st floor window seat overlooking the cathedral whilst the food and wines were delicious. Will definitely come again.

This must be the best Côte in the country. Wonderful view from the upstairs dining room. The champagne was better than you'd get in any other chain. Superb September special Pinot blanc. The crab bisque and all the rest of the food was amazing. Service as always was attentive, friendly and efficient. Perfect!

Excellent service and good food. We had a window seat with a nice view out which will be even better when the building work from the hotel fire next door is finally over.

This place is just lovely, we always save going here for a special accasion, it was husbands birthday so I asked for a table upstairs looking out over the cathedral and that what we got, they always try to accomadate, when we arrived they greeted my husband with happy birthday and showed us to our table and brought out complementary drinks to celebrate (very nice surprise) we were served by an Italian waiter and couldn't do enough for us, great food and fantastic service 😀

Good front of house and waiter service - food always top quality with waiting times between courses spot on! Fit for purpose on all fronts.

A meal at Côte Exeter never disappoints; our steak frites were perfect and the desserts to end our meal were delicious. We look forward to our next visit!

Excellent food. 3 of us had the mussels as a starter. Good choice and quality wines . Staff friendly and efficient and the location overlooking the Cathedral is lovely. A very enjoyable experience.

Great gin cocktails, tasty food. It's always busy and if you want a good view of the cathedral green then put a request in when you book!

Overall it was a better experience than the day before. Maybe because we were seated on the smaller ground floor area, a bit more intimate and staff took a bit more care.

Ambience, service, food, value for money, all really good, a very enjoyable experience. The Exeter experience was particularly fine given the restaurant’s position overlooking the Cathedral, we had a window table on the third floor. Beautiful view overlooking the Cathedral to the countryside beyond, with food to match! AJ

Very slow service on this visit. We had to ask for attention to order drinks and our food. Starters arrived at different times so others had finished when the final one arrived. Being hot soup it delayed the main course considerable Second time Steak Frites has been tough and inedible. Sea Bream was delicious.

The staff were great and the food was fab. One of my favourite places to eat. Great choice on the menu and it never fails to please me

Although the food was very good, and the staff very pleasant, the service was extremely slow.. it suggested understaffing. Bearing in mind it was a Tuesday lunchtime, thecstaff were rushed off their feet.

Great meal - service a bit slow but absolutely charming - they were surprisingly busy for a Tuesday evening. This was a birthday celebration - just the three of us but there some big groups as well.

Very attentive service, lovely surroundings and excellent food. Our 3 year old grandchild was well looked after and the child’s meal very good. Only minus point is the “discretionary” service charge which is automatically added to the bill and you have to ask if you want it removed or changed.

The restaurant has a real buzz.My partner and I have been to COTE Exeter several times and the service and food never varies it is always excellent

Friendly welcome on arrival, fantastic food and friendly staff throughout. Child friendly and a wonderful time had. I can't wait to return and enjoy another Cote experience.

Lovely location food from set menu was excellent can’t fault the service Overlooks the cathedral decorations good on three floors so lots of room get there before 7.00 and have set menu Wine house was a good price sub £20

Lovely food! Busy when we had our meal! That made things a little disorganised. Been a few times before and service was better. Food is always good.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch with great service! The first floor seating area was lovely and relaxing able to enjoy the view of the castle. We will be returning very soon!

Great breakfast. Good service and best cup of coffee in town! The restaurant was full even though it was only 10.30am. We will return soon!

Food was good quality but portions not large, and I hate it when any restaurant puts 12.5% "optional" tip already preprinted on the bill. They would have got a tip if they had not presumed.

Service was quick although felt less warm than previous visits. food was good as usual. 12.5% service charge automatically added to your bill so be aware before you consider adding a tip

Cotes as usual very good, food to die for, staff very helpful and courteous. The belly pork is our favourite and was spot on again. Best of all it was my partners birthday and the staff made her day.

Amazing as always. Great service. Food was superb and the wine was lovely. Always have good meals in Cote. I had the steak tartare which was lovely, followed by the lamb rump which was cooked beautifully and so tender. The rest of the table loved their meals also. Helped make a great evening.

Great food and service. Exeter Cote's upstairs room is extremely noisy when busy and this is very disruptive when conversing with eating companions. Needs attention.

As ever, good food, friendly, efficient service and a buzzing atmosphere. At £30 a head, this was good value and is an object lesson in how it can and should be done; other restaurants (particularly the national chains that are struggling in the current market) should watch and learn.

One of my favourite cotes. Frequent visitor to Exeter and always take my evening meals here. Took the time to book three more nights in October when i am back. Great food great service thanks again

Sat outside and enjoyed the sun and an excellent Plate Rapide. Good quick and professional service at a good price and lovely setting. would highly reccomend

Lovely food, good ambience, attentive staff. We had another pleasant meal there and plan to return in the near future. Sitting in the window overlooking Cathedral Green - what better?

The food was as usual very good. It just remains a little expensive for what it is, namely an up market Cafe Rouge. I will be back but perhaps they could expand the menu options or lower the prices.
