Côte Restaurant Exeter

Normally I would rate my overall experience a 6 but on this occasion we had quite a wait for our starter as it was burnt so had to be re cooked . My main course wasn’t very hot and had to be returned to the kitchen how ever the staff were excellent and replaced the meal offering the replacement free of charge . We have eaten here on numerous occasions and never had reason to complain. Believe it was just a bit off a off night for the kitchen and it won’t put us off returning for future visits .

Nice location and good food. Would go back again but arrive earlier. Cote never disappoint and always produce a nice meal with a good selection of wines

As usual we had a delicious lunch. We always go for one of the set menus . It is delicious and good value for money. Salmon rilette and seafood linguine! Can’t go wrong with that 🤗 Excellent staff too 🤗

Always great service, great atmosphere, perfect timings and lovely food. I’ve been back many times and will continue to go back as it’s definitely our favourite restaurant in the city centre

Really busy for a Tuesday lunchtime, but service and food as good as ever. Staff very helpfully try to accommodate all requests and the "specials" and lunch menus are always exciting.

As always an excellent meal, well cooked and presented. It was very busy but staff up to the challenge. Looking forward to the next visit.

fabulous evening, seated upstairs on a busy night when all three floors were packed. Highlight for for me was the praline crepe which was decadent while remaining light. the perfect finish.

Food and service was good but the noise meant that it was impossible to talk to my friend or hear what she was saying. They need to do something about that In the upstairs room.

I normally rate this restaurant more highly but on this occasion I ordered a main dish with green beans which were barely cooked and, in my opinion, inedible. I like undercooked vegetables but not raw!

Good service, good value, nice atmosphere, good position facing the Cathedral green , seating up and down stairs and outside. Menus al la cart, set for various times.

Had the set lunch which was lovely, but my starter was incomplete which did detract a little. always pleased to be able to have Chardonnay by the glass, a real treat!

The restaurant always has a buzz. The staff are professional yet still friendly and always have time to pass the time of day.Service is usually quick. The food is very good and the quality never varies.Good selection of wines.A draught beer and lager would be a great advantage

Great atmosphere. The restaurant was really buzzing. Attentive staff. Didnt have to wait long despite it being so busy. Delicios food. Would definitely go again.

Excellent and delicious food. PLEASANT SERVICE THROUGHOUT. Slight chaos over our arrival and guidance to table. However, ambience was great and the staff very helpful for the rest of the meal.

We enjoyed the very good value lunch menu as always. Overall the food was up to the usual standard & very tasty. A chosen dessert was unavailable & the alternative requested was accommodated. A subsequent complaint about the heat of one of the desserts was willingly resolved. The staff seemed a little more under pressure than usual, however, they were still professional & polite.

Not up to usual standard. The service was slow we ordered a full english and a vegetarian breakfasts. Coffees and juice came quickly. We had to wait 25 minutes for breakfast. Very dissappointing

Thoroughly enjoyed out visit to-day. Excellent variety of dishes to choose from - we enjoyed the Duck Breast, Escalope de veau and Fish Parmentier not forgetting the Chocolate fondant, Crème Caramel and Tartes des pommes.

Another fabulous meal at Côte Exeter. They were busy, but service was immaculate and food delicious. All four of us were very happy. Their crepe is to die for!

We love Côte ! The food and service are always excellent. We tend to go for the two course menu for lunch which is great value for money 🤗

I had invited two guests, neither of whom had been to Cote before. They were impressed and we agreed that the choices of food we made were excellent. The staff were welcoming, without being obsequious. It was a very pleasant lunch in every respect.

I guess with this being our third visit in 10 days, this means we must love it. Lots of other people seem to love it as well given that it was packed on a Tuesday evening. Once again great food, great service and great atmosphere

Excellent service, fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Early bird menu is such great value for money and the food is always tasty, well presented and of a good portion size.

Excellent food but service a bit quick we had our starter and mains in 45 mins Probably our fault as we ordered plats rapids All redeemed with beautiful cheese plate and a glass of calvados

Always good value and charming staff. We visit at least once a month. Service can be a bit slow if they are very busy but worth the wait.

Great service and great food. This is one of our favourite restaraunts in a lovely setting overlooking the stunning cathedral. Highly recommend it. The daytime two or three course deal is such good value

Service was good, allowing time between courses. As always excellent food in sensible portion sizes for us. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the pork belly and I had delicious chicken dish. Find shed with my all time favourite frozen berries with white chocolate sauce.

We had a super time on we'd evening 8 of us really enjoyed it great food, drinks, and lovely service, started soon as we arrived from beginning to end as it was my husband 70th birthday it could not have got any better good old cote thankyou for always looking after us as always.

Accommodated my family when asked to move upstairs to a table by the window. Lovely meal with great service. No rush to leave from table.

Gorgeous location and lovely food. Sat outside on a warm summer's evening, what's not to like?

Food was good but service was slow. Very expensive for the size of portions you get. Would go again but would make sure it was before 7pm to qualify for their early bird menu.

The food was very nice and we found the staff to be very friendly. however we did wait a long time for our food and a side order of green beans did not arrive until we had nearly finished our main course.

Generally enjoyable but the rib-eye steaks were tough and one had to be replaced - but the replacement was not any better. Received a refund for one meal.

Good service, bit noisy downstairs, French toat great; my wife's veggie breakfast arrived without eggs which appeared 5 minutes later. cannot think of anything else

Always lovely to sit upstairs in the window as it's the best view in town. Our lunch was delicious - crusty bread maybe a bit too delicious - good value and staff as friendly and helpful as ever.

Booked for an early-evening dinner before an event in the cathedral. As usual, Cote was busy, food and service were excellent. We will certainly be back.

Very busy but staff friendly and efficient. Food also very good and good value for money . Nice to go somewhere where it’s possible to enjoy 3 courses without being completely over faced.

Second visit and again not disappointed, lovely atmosphere with a beautiful view of the cathedral from the second floor. Excellent service and amazing food, the duck was to die for!!! Looking forward to our next visit

Great service. Average food. I order a medium fillet steak. Still raw in the middle. Then creme brulee for dessert. Too much sugar on top and burnt hard. Couldn't break it. Couldn't eat it. Shame as Cote meals are usually so good.

Excellent well priced menu & service. First floor room had very noisy acoustic. Staff friendly and efficient. No need to say any more thank you

Great seating arrangement. The member of staff who took care of us was very helpful. The food was good. A lovely relaxed lunch with good company!
