We had a lovely evening at Cote. I had asked to be seated away from the door and upstairs if possible and they did. Nothing was too much to ask. Dinner was perfect. Rate 6.
Cosy and festive ambience. Lovely friendly and helpful and professional staff. A varied menu with lots of authentic French dishes. A comprehensive wine list. I had the prawn gratinee to start which is always delicious then I had the sea bass for my main course and that was stunning. I highly recommend a visit!
Beautiful food today at Cote, superb service and a lovely, buzzy atmosphere
Very nice meal last Sunday just had main course and a glass of wine, there again Monday for daily special. Encore! Always really friendly helpful staff and lovelies of Exeter Cathedral.
Pre Christmas family get together, made even more perfect by the Excellent service and gorgeous food we all had at Cotes. Washed down with wine and liquor coffee.
Food & service were both excellent and prices were as you would expect for this area. But we found the restaurant to be very noisy.
Lovely breakfast as always which provides great value for money, excellent service, & beautiful views of Exeter Cathedral. We left feeling revived. We will definitely be back soon.
Enjoyed lovely food with an attentive service. Booked a prepaid deal and it was incredible value for money. Merci Côte
happy with meal but disappointed with the fact that request for window seat was ignored and not addressed on arrival, also a shame they automatically add a 12.5% tip onto bill but otherwise enjoyed the food and good service
Meet & greet disappointing - no-one there and ignored by 2 waiters - only say this as very unusual for Cote. Have been to this branch several times and it gets noisier every time. Almost unbearable for the first hour at a 1st floor table with a lovely view of the cathedral. Think they are a victim of their own success. Service very good once we were seated and food excellent as usual......just need to sort the noise level out!
We're new to Exeter and discovered Cote a few weeks ago. We have been back three times since. I lived in Paris for 10 years in the 1970s (after that in Hong Kong and Manila) and Cote reminds me vividly of a French brasserie. Excellent range of dishes and staff super-responsive staff, including being greeted at the door, and, of course, a memorable view out to the cathedral close. A most enjoyable experience. Thank you to all involved.
We ate from the set menu and both enjoyed our meals. The restaurant was quite busy for a weekday lunchtime but the service was good and we did not have to wait long for the food to be served. As ever good food and friendly service.
As usual excellent service , and delicious food, staff eager to please. dietary requirements met with no fuss. No hurry - we were taking our time talking before ordering.
Food was excellent, great service - the staff were really attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere buzzing. Thank you for making our afternoon a good one.
Great food, good service, nice view. . . . .. .... . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The food was excellent as always. We also found the Mulled Cidre a good compliment to your meal. Fully recommend this place for a nice evening out
The breakfast was up to the usual high standard with little waiting time before the two meals arrived. The restaurant was busy but the staff were coping well. I think it would be good to offer free apple/orange juice to any meal over ca £12 (e.g. my french toast with a side of bacon and a latte did not qualify).
Good flavoursome food, well presented, excellent service, friendly staff and overall great value for money. Window seats provide a lovely view of the cathedral. Will be eating here again next month.
Visiting Côte in Exeter is a six weekly event. This time we were greeted well and shown to our table. The waitress was however rather abrupt, (maybe a new member of staff?) Our order arrived promptly however my friend did not get what she ordered. Not wanting to make a fuss she ate the food brought. We always order the same dessert. On this occasion it was disappointing. We did let the staff know and asked that this be shared with the kitchen. Even so, we had a pleasant lunch in a fantastic environment.
Good food, friendly service. Good value for money. Menu changes every month so one never gets fed up. It's our favourite restaurant in the whole of Exmouth.
As always good and friendly service and great menu. Staff always helpful to me as I’m partly disabled. Easy access in Cathedral Green. Booking is easy
Quality food at an affordable price with great service . Nothing to not like. Staff are always friendly and smiley and the food is always a good standard.
Another lovely meal! This time we enjoyed a lunchtime experience and it was just as good. Lovely cooked food and wine and excellent service. A super birthday lunch for my husband!
Yet another very enjoyable meal at the Cote in Exeter. I particularly enjoyed the November specials meal of Terrine followed by the Whole Sea Bream and my husband had his favourite Chicken Liver Parfait followed by Moules Marinière. As always the staff are charming. We shall be back!
My wife and I ordered Ribeye steaks with French fries. It was a good choice, as the steaks were cooked to our liking and were delicious. We ended with panna cotta puddings which were scrumptious. The only disconcerting element was the high noise level downstairs which was generated by some garrulous customers and was not the fault of the restaurant. A most enjoyable meal overall.
I have always enjoyed going here but last night was a little dissapppoinying. 6 of us went to celebrate my special birthday. I booked in advance but we were squashed into what was really a table for 5. They were very busy and the service was very slow. The foid was good I must say. At the end of our night the waitress asked if we wanted desserts which we didn't then just dumped the bill on the table before we asked for it. They were clearly busy and overworked but it did spoil the usually good service we have had in the past. This usually one of my favourite places.
As always helpful staff, a good atmosphere and good food, promptly served. The place was humming with happy customers. Minor error with bill (undercharged) quickly sorted.
This is a wonderful restaurant in the heart of exeter city centre - overlooking the stunning cathedral green (try and book a window table if you can). Food and service excellent!
Staff were very attentive. Four of us had the November lunch special menu which had plenty of choice and was beautifully cooked. Will definitely go again.
Lovely setting. Varied authentic French menu. Prix fixe menus available too. The staff are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Great food, at great prices. We love it there!!
Good welcome on arrival for our booked table and all items on the menu were offered to us. Our meals were excellent and all restaurant were helpful and efficient.
Brilliant ambiance, wonderful food and a great location! What more can you ask for in a restaurant when entertaining guests? Highly recommended to one and all!
In spite of the fact that the restaurant had had a problem with a fire alarm alert in the morning delaying the kitchen’s ability to keep up with preparing meals, our wait for the table we had ordered was made less annoying by the offer of a ‘drink on the house’. We eat on a regular basis at the Exeter Cote and were not disappointed on this occasion.
Lovely restaurant, really nice staff and great food. Can recommend the salmon which was huge and beautifully cooked and not at all dry. Partner had the duck which looked amazing.
Really special night beautiful food & excellent service will recommend to all my friends. Will be going again soon a really lovely atmosphere as always
Never had a bad meal or experience at Cote 😊 They deliver all of our expectations every time 👍 Pick Cote every time for any meal required in town. Will be returning soon to celebrate my 60th in November
Lovely welcoming place to eat. This is my favourite place to eat in Exeter. Great menus, changing every month. Always something good to try and food is well presented. A blessing for me that they take on board gluten free diets.
Always first class. Friendly staff and great food. Star quality
As always its the perfect place to eat lovely setting, food, wine, and excellent service, the staff are so friendly one of the best in devon.
I regularly use Cote in Haywards Heath, which I find very good, and only occasionally Cote in Exeter which yesterday I found to be only average but still good value.
Generally the food is excellent and the service very good, our latest visit to Cote lived up to our expectations and we had a very enjoyable evening
Food as ever was of an excellent standard and so tasty. Servers were polite and helpful (if a little slow last night). Always enjoy and recommend.
Very enjoyable meal. Queue at the door which I felt could have been handled more professionally, but restaurant was very busy and once we were seated service was first class. We ate from the set lunch menu. Good choice and good value. Food was hot and tasty with good portion size.
We are regular customers at Cotes Restaurant in Exmouth, Devon. We find the food is very good value for money. Also the staff are charming and take great care to insure the whole dining experience is a pleasent one.
always have a faultless experience when dining in the evening, however this is the second time now visiting for lunch that we have been left disappointed. Over a 30 minute wait between starters and mains for over cooked food with no apology is a real shame.
We had a super meal tonight Staff were very attentive friendly and made us feel special Had a table by the window overlooking the Cathedral Always a lovely experience dining at Cote Had the early bird menu which is very good value for money also the house red& white wines are good
We were very happy with our choices from the special menu, and the service was good. I go to this restaurant quite often and have never been disappointed.
We have always enjoyed our meals at Cote and this was no exception with plenty of menus to choose from and all very good value.
Booked for a celebratory graduation lunch. Very good experience as per usual
Delicious food as always, a great choice on the menus and polite, friendly service, but we had a bit of a wait for our food this time .
