Never ever have I had a bad meal here! It’s my favourite in Exeter, always beautiful food and the service is fab! I always look forward to going back

Good service, even though they were very busy as there was an event on in the Exeter cathedral. Very good food, hot and tasty at reasonable prices.

Great atmosphere. Wholesome, tasty food. Friendly & efficient service. Cote always delivers. Consistently good. Great choice for a Christmas lunch. Exeter location on Cathedral Green really adds to the experience.

Food lovely and waiting team lovely but was very busy as Christmas lunches etc and took a long time to clear our table so dessert was a bit rushed.

Excellent food.The staff was absolutely charming and helpful.I always meet my friends at Cotes and we are never rushed. I have also been to Cotes in Chichester and Black Heath in London.Always good.

Very nice as always. The only downside was they had run out of gratin potatoes, so all the meals that should have come with them had to be served with mash or chips. Just not the same!

Had the early evening menu, just (!) and it was excellent value. The restaurant was very busy but the service was still very good-I'll be back!!

Great lunchtime menu. Great tasting food. Great service. Great price (set menu). Table on the 2nd floor was peaceful (great view of the cathedral and Xmas Market), although it looked very busy on the lower floors. Cannot recommend enough.

I had booked the table for 7 people well in advance for 8pm and asked for a table upstairs. I got a phone call from the restaurant at 7-45 pm to say they could only see us at 8-45 pm. This was very late to eat, anyway when we got there at 8.45 pm the table wasn’t ready and we had to stand around waiting. Then we were given a table by the door downstairs which was cold. We were given some complementary wine because of the inconvenience. I had made the booking and yet the waiter discussed everything with one of the males in the group, rather than me. The food was unfortunately mediocre, I had sea bass with new potatoes which were over cooked. It would be good if Cote had a specified waiting area with seating because it doesn’t feel welcoming to have to stand and wait in the doorway.

Food was good as usual but service was a bit below our expectations today. The restaurant had been having problems with gas supply and we were asked to delay 30 minutes after our original booking time. That was ok and we were given complementary drinks so no complaints there. However the restaurant was not over busy by the time we got in so there was no excuse for delays in taking orders.

Excellent service - friend is 'gluten free' staff couldn't have been more helpful. Great table looking at the cathedral, food was absolutely lovely, will definitely be back.

Requested a table upstairs with a view of the cathedral and xmas markets - I was so pleased when they were able to honour my request. The restaurant was busy but the food was still served swiftly

We had a lovely meal at Cote Exeter on Saturday evening the restaurant was very busy with large groups but our table of 6 was very well attended and the meals were really well Presented and delicious all came out at the same time and were piping hot Out only slight criticism was that there was a very cold draught upstairs at the end of the evening But otherwise a fabulous experience Thank you

Love to eat here! Always great service and wonderful food and drinks. The early bird is fantastic value for money and never disappoints. Great with groups or just two the atmosphere is friendly and cosy.

We had a lovely time, the service was very good, attentive but unobtrusive. Staff were polite and helpful when we requested. We left feeling very content, ready to face the hustle and bustle of Christmas.

Excellent meal with exceptional flavour - thank you. Service was swift and courteous. Great to have the cassoulet again - but I have to wait until winter each year !

Excellent food and service would highly recommend, the staff are always friendly and very welcoming, the French breakfast is the best and the boudin noir is the best I ever tasted full of flavour.

Food good but due to time of year, very crowded and noisy Cote gives consistently good service and I would not hesitate to go there again

The service was slower than normal but they automatically took the wine off the bill which was much appreciated. Lovely food and atmosphere. Great choice in the early menu.

Four of us had a wonderful time at lunch today with delicious food and wine. The atmosphere was great...plenty of good conversation going around the tables but not noisy. The wait staff were excellent: taking our orders and delivering the food quickly to table. The food tasted superb especially the onion soup and the amazing creme caramel...please thank the chefs who prepared these delicious dishes. A great overall restaurant experience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the mussels and veg were beautifully cooked and the meat was fine. We ate at 5pm. It looked like it would be Very busy after 7pm.

A lovely meal and last meeting of our little Italian group before Christmas and friendly attentive service by an Italian from Naples! We all went away very happy with the experience.

Wonderful food cooked to perfection. Sometimes the restaurant can be a bit too noisy, however it is a very popular place due to good food served here.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I had requested a table upstairs and there wasn't one available however they served us drinks downstairs and then moved us upstairs - the experience upstairs is a hundred times more special with the light and the view and the atmosphere compared to an ordinary cafe downstairs.... The food was delicious. We all opted for the more expensive xmas set price menu and were all pleased with our choices. the way the staff managed to move us upstairs meant we had a most enjoyable special occasion. thank you and well done!

Noisy downstairs but they would not move us. Some food on menu not available even though early evening. Food okay. Restaurant a little tired and dated - felt like having a meal in a Costa cafe rather than French restaurant. Unlikely to go back!

Treat after Christmas shopping, as always an excellent meal, the french onion soup was excellent, as was the celeriac soup. All served very efficiently by friendly staff. Look forward to another visit.

We have been to Exeter Cote several times. As always our latest visit did not disappoint. Lovely food. Good service and atmosphere. Good value for money.

Excellent service from smashing male waiter upstairs in Cote Exeter. Great food, good price a really lovely lunch experience . Will definitely return. Happy atmosphere and we were not rushed at all.

After enjoying many 5* breakfasts at Cote Exeter we were disappointed this time. My wife's food was barely warm, my bacon was as hard as a rock and my egg was unrecognisable as scrambled. The manager handled the situation professionally and to our satisfaction (we had nothing to pay) but it does leave us nervous as to whether we will be hungry after breakfast at Cote next time.

As a regular customer of Cote Exeter, the food is first class and the staff courteous and friendly. I will be dining at Cote many times before Christmas and I am sure they will be very enjoyable.

The food was lovely but it was quite busy and we got forgotten at times and had to wait to try and attract the waiters attention

Excellent meal , well presented friendly staff . House red wine was amazing . great location in the city overlooking the cathedral. Couldn’t ask for anything else

We had to wait quite a long time to be seated even though we had booked. In our party of three, we ordered calamari x 3 and two fillet steaks and one pork belly. The steaks were great and the calamari was also good. The pork belly however was terrible. One big lump of fat containing one or two mouthfuls of meat that could be eaten. Service overall was very good but I would never order the pork again.

Our overall experience was superb! Excellent service , delicious food ,wonderful atmosphere and very conducive to thoroughly enjoying your evening. The position of the restaurant overlooking the Cathedral all adds to what was a very enjoyable time with work colleagues.

We always love the food and atmosphere at Côte. The staff are really friendly and smiley. Our visit today was just the same as always 😋👍

My friend and I had lunch with you in Exeter,on Wednesday last, my venison cottage pie was very dry and not your usual high standard, however we thoroughly enjoyed our other courses and the usual friendly service

Prior to my most recent visit to Cote Exeter, I visited and reviewed Cote at both Exeter and Fulham. On each occasion booking procedure, welcome, service and food all consistently excellent.
