Good food and service in lovely space overlooking Exeter Cathedral.

Lovely food but service was odd! Think we were forgotten about at the end.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was very chilled- perfect for an early Friday evening and the waiting staff were attentive and charming without being intrusive.

Cote's usual high standard of food and service but we, in common with all friends who go to the Exeter restaurant would really like some sound absorbing boards on the 1st floor as well as on the ground floor.

A return visit, our first being last week. On both occasions top marks for all aspects. The staff really make your evening. Excellent service, pleasant attitude and nothing too much trouble. Thank You. We will be back and recommending to anyone who will listen.

Very busy so very noisy and waited awhile for our food.. Didn’t enjoy my main course, chicken slightly tough. Dessert (mine) arrived cold - crepe with bananas. Staff were friendly but won’t return as we didn’t think the food warranted the price.

Exceptional food & service on this visit. A problem with one of the main courses was dealt with so well we barely noticed we’d made a complaint. An immensely enjoyable evening that made my Mum’s birthday celebration very special.

Very noisy atmosphere but full of life on a Friday evening with plenty of celebrations going on. Food was of usual high standard and seating was prompt and by the window.

Not up to usual standard. Food had to be returned as it was cold in the middle. They replaced both meals and only charged us for one. Did their best to rectify matters.

I had the 'special' chicken - lovely and juicy with lots of garlic - just like being back in France. The house red wine was a perfect accompaniment. Great service and a view of the Cathedral. Love it there!

A tasty treat on a soggy day! We had steak & tomato salad with a robust red wine and it was delicious! Amazing value for money. Friendly professional service. Go and try it soon

Delicious food as always. The June Negroni cocktail is a "must"... it really packs a flavoursome punch. Go and eat there if you haven't yet been.

Service was great and food was lovely as always. A bit disappointed that the chicken liver parfait was not served with the spiced apple chutney as they’d run out. Was given gherkins instead, don’t like them so didn’t eat them. Had rib-eye steak for main which was amazing.

Went in to eat approx 7pm and was told there were no free tables until 9. Went outside and looked on line and booked for 7.15. Went back in 15 mins later. Great food and great service once in. Shame it was spoilt by the initial greeting

Enjoyable, but a little noisy for us (elderly) visitors. Very accommodating when our daughter arrived after a long drive from Shropshire and joined us.

Appalling noise levels! You need more soft furnishings and partitions to absorb the decibels. We couldn't hear each other

Service was really good, we were able to try the wine before we ordered it as it was a wine we hadn’t tried before. Timings for food being served were exceptionally good, food was hot and cooked to perfection , will defiantly be going again

A warm welcome, a lovely atmosphere and a table by the window as requested. We ordered steak frites but unfortunately when served our steak was stone cold. When we told our waiter the whole matter was handled very quickly and professionally with a sincere apology and our meal was replaced piping hot within a matter of minutes. Quite delicious and a speedy resolution made. When the bill came an adjustment had been made to reflect what had happened. Well done Cote!!

Delicious, juicy, tender steak frites with a couple of glasses of good French red wine. It is unbeatable value and a high level of service and efficiency, thank you.

Sunday supper at Cote is a lovely way to finish off the weekend. I had the May lamb special and is was amazing. All four of us loved our meal and the May cocktail was delicious. Another exceptional experience, thank you.

Very slow service, 3 and a half mains out of 5 came out, waitied 20 mins and got someone’s attention (not the other way round) waited another 15 mins for the rest of the food, minus side dishes. Very poor indeed . Our meal was on the house, but simple care and communication might have prevented this

Great staff. Fab meal. Value for money. Can’t wait to go back.
