This is one of our favourite restaurants in the UK. Its location, elegant first floor room, excellent food and first class service never disappoints. We return time after time.

Had lunch on V Day and had a lovely time. The food was good and our Waiter was attentive, kind and funny.

Although the restaurant is lovely and staff friendly I do feel only having a set 3 course menu available is a little bit of a con! Myself and my partner didn’t want to pay £28.95 each for 3 courses! And to top that off the portions were less than adequate for nearly £10 per course! I have been a few times before and this experience wouldn’t put me off from going again but I would check which menus are available!!

The way the bill is presented is I shame on cote trying to foul their customers by adding an extra12.5%. Gratuity should require the customer to give as they wish and make an action to give. I had to ask for the bill to be reprinted when I saw the amount on the card machine. What kind of ethics is that? I give tips in restaurants, the amount I want based on the quality of the service and the way I want it, cash or card.

Wonderful meal, excellent, friendly service for an early pre-concert dinner. Will be back!

Disappointing as booked upstairs window table for special occasion not available. Waited a long time for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink. We ordered a starter and the eggs were just warm. However the main course was good. We use Cote regularly however our experience has made us consider whether we could take this risk again. A great shame.

As my birthday is on February 14th, we booked several weeks ahead and requested a seat by the window overlooking the gracious Cathedral close. We have done the same for three or four years in a row. As ever, the response was 'we'll see what we can do' but we have never been given a window seat. Our conclusion is that there is some kind of a 'racket'/bribery system operated by staff to provide access to window seats. As a result of these experiences, we will probably give up on Cote from now on.

As always perfect lunch. We visit regularly and service and staff and food simply wonderful!!

Excellent food as always. Service very prompt with charming discrete service. Good selection of wines and loved the blood orange cocktail. It was noisy but that is the way it is - no ones fault. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Thank you.

The weather was inclement so Cote was quieter than usual on a Sunday evening. However, the atmosphere wasn’t lacking & we were served by delightful, interesting staff efficiently & professionally. We had starters, mains, a side & desserts from the February specials menu. And other dishes from the à la carte all thoroughly enjoyed & perfectly cooked. The blood orange martini was delicious. Thanks for a special evening.

Good service and, on the whole, nice food. The risotto let it down by being tasteless and stodgy.

We were having a special family celebration and this was, for my wife and I, our first visit. Other family members had dined with you before and were pleased with their experiences. The food was excellent at reasonable prices. Service was also excellent, served very promptly by very friendly and helpful staff. We shall most certainly dine with you again and recommend you to friends and family.

The food was outstanding as usual. We love Côte Exeter and go regularly. Look forward to our next visit 🤗

A regular meeting place for our lunch each month because the menu is always good and the food quite exceptional with a different menu each month.

Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for your staff. From the time of booking to the time we left, all staff were attentive and friendly. Food was amazing and the atmosphere relaxed and inviting.

Great food as always. Great value in the set menus. Shame a dirty knife was dropped onto my coat by a waiter! He was very apologetic though.

Very good would come again, although busy so struggled to get staffs attention re ordering drinks etc.

Both meals were cooked to perfection. Wine was great . Best Tarte au citron I have eaten....and I have eaten a fair few.

Food excellent as ever. Service very good. We did ask for a table for two by the window but ended up at the back of the restaurant almost on top of the service/ordering till thing which was slightly disappointing. However, was a pleasant evening nonetheless.

Very good as usual - consistent. Very sharp good service despite it being VERY busy.

Food and service was very good. Friendly, helpful, staff, and a great choice of food. Only reducing full star rating, due to the downstairs seating position been quite chilly at times, due to ques of customers holding the door open whilst awaiting their table. A little inconsiderate! This could be avoided by the installation of a double door system. Have eaten upstairs previously, and no problems with draughtiness there.
