Pleasant staff , delicious food, wonderful view from the window towards the Cathedral. Just one minus point, the room becomes VERY noisy , maybe because there no fabric to absorb the chatter. No waiting if you book online. A very good experience.

Fantastic service, lovely food in fabulous location opposite the cathedral. Nothing was too much bother for the staff. For me there atmosphere is better upstairs and also a better view of the cathedral lit up at night. This was my second visit and I’m just as impressed as the first time. Will definitely be back.

As always never fails to impress. We always book at Cotes for special occasions as the service is great. It was a nice surprise to see new choices on the menu and My son really enjoyed the swordfish. The staff were very welcoming as always and even though it was busy they were very attentive.

As usual , the food was excellent!! The service by your staff was exceptional as ever . Couldn’t fault it in any was !! Sorry it won’t help you to improve things . We will be back

We took our visiting friends out for supper and they were extremely impressed! We sat upstairs with an amazing view of the Cathedral and the restaurant was buzzing with happy customers all enjoying the food and atmosphere etc. Faultless in every way and such wonderful value for money.

Had a lovely meal here. I ordered sea bass, my husband ordered steak fillet and my friend ordered the beef bourguignon. My son had the fish goujons from the children’s menu. All of the dishes were delicious and very well presented. I felt the prices were right for each dish. The service was good and the waiter made conversation with us and engaged with our 4 yo. It was busy in the restaurant so the noise level was such that conversations were difficult at times. My only negative comment was I felt the fish goujons were too big and too many for a child’s portion. Even half the amount would have been more than enough. Apart from that, I would highly recommend eating here and the food.

Excellent meal and good service. Restaurant would benefit from some sound deadening. Tends to be very noisy at busy times.

We are regular visitors to Cote Exeter; today we were just slightly disappointed because off the 'Specials' menu... * there were no croutons and just one segment of blood orange with the salad/sea bream. * there was no watercress with the chicken (my wife was given a sprig of parsley when she questioned staff). * one bottle of water was disgusting, having a very distinctive metallic taste. The main elements, fish, chicken, steak, risotto were all fine but we do hope that standards on the peripheral 'sides' are not beginning to slip.

We come here most weekends for our breakfast which sets us up for the day. I brought my daughter and her fiancée today just before they make their way back to their home in London, they really enjoyed their breakfast Thank you Tina & Andy Welland

Food was nice but sparse and quite pricey for what it is. Nice French feel to it and staff friendly and efficient.

From the moment I walked through the door until the moment I left I thought that the service was very good, the staff were polite and friendly. The waiting time for food wasn’t very long at all, and the courses were served in a timely manner as we finished each one. The food that evening was cooked to perfection. There was a vibrant atmosphere, and although it was a busy evening the noise levels were quiet enough that I could comfortably hold a conversation across the table with my partner. I would recommend your restaurant to friends, and I will definitely be returning again.

We had an excellent meal and we definitely made the right choice with the Chateaubriand for two, it was cooked to perfection. Our waiter Ben? was very professional and discreet. Our observations about my queries concerning the website offer of a free seasonal aperitif and the fact we were expecting to be offered the Valentines menu which your site said was available until the 16th. I asked if the assiette gourmande was available but was told you had run out of macarons so it was not available. Poor coordination of your digital and real offerings. You compensated well with the bottle of wine being offered as a compliment.
