Côte Restaurant Exeter

Fantastic evening. What a stunning place with the view over Cathedral Yard. The food was really good, everything cooked perfectly. We spent £50 a head for a special occasion but had 4 courses plus wine and coffee, which was very good value, but you could eat a lot cheaper than this if you are on a budget. The stand-out was the service though. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. I haven't had such a good time for months.

We had a lovely evening meal, food and staff were amazing. We will be back again very soon.

Our waitress was outstanding. Food very good - as always. Service was perfectly timed, with just the right intervals between courses. We have become regular visitors to Côte in Exeter and highly recommend it.

Nice corner table for one person, my steak was was cooked as rear as possible, desert fonduit was warm while eating as the ice-cream melted on the side. Service efficient and smooth.

Mains were excellent, starter a little bland. Wine was good although expensive. Staff were excellent. It was very efficient and felt safe. The room was a bit chilly but that felt better re good ventilation.

Great service and food as always, staff always go out there way to serve you. Food was excellent.

Would have been made better if we were told what was missing from the menu before we were given time to decide on something that wasn’t available. Food was amazing. The restaurant itself was very loud on the 1st and 2nd floor.

I'm afraid I did not feel safe with the social distancing - it seemed that the table layout was no different than before lockdown and sitting adjacent with people either side of me made me feel nervous. We therefore just had a sandwich and left straight afterwards but have (prelockdown) been able to enjoy full meals at Cote. This time though was not great and I don't think I would go again.

Our first visit since you re-opened and pleased to find the standards as high as ever and the Covid-protection measures well-handled.

It was lovely nice relaxed atmosphere, our waiter was great.

I have been a frequent visitor to Cote over the years. Today was our 47 th wedding anniversary and had booked to have a special meal. The service as always is impeccable, however the Steak frites was full of gristle and difficult to eat. But the situation was quickly remedied- a great credit to your staff. Thank you for putting things right.

First time back since it opened it was lovely to see the team and as always made us fell very welcomed as if we have'nt been away. Food although limited was very good. Clad to have you back.

Really great lunch out, thank you. Lovely location with glorious view over the Cathedral Green. Very welcoming reception and friendly, diligent staff. Good choice of items on the menu, very tasty dishes, arrived promptly and piping hot.

The service was slow. The waiter was not very present or available and the restaurant was not even full. On top of that, 12.5% were added to our bill for the service which is incredible. As I as a customer should decide if I want to add a tip or not and how much. When I mention this to another waiter, he explained that all the tips were shared and addd at the end of the month of their wages. That was not my question and there fore not the answer I expected.

I booked a table for our wedding party the night before the big day. The staff made us very welcome with a glass of fizz on arrival. One of our party had special dietary requirements and they took the trouble to check ingredients on dishes for them. As always the food was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thank you.

Great service. First post lockdown meal and was made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in. We booked a table by the window which we go and nothing was too much trouble. Will be back again as food is always good!

Lovely evening! Would've had a 5 star for food but my fillet was well done. Gave 5* for everything else as the service was excellent and the steak was taken off the bill without asking. Thank you, this was our first meal out since lockdown, definitely coming back!

Wonderful food, flavourful, and able to provide equally as wonderful gluten free food. Tables socially distanced well. Staff were ever so polite, helpful and very welcoming! Remains a favourite of ours so will definitely be returning

Really good considerate service,for example , our waiter apologised for any interruption when wanting to know if we required anything else, instead of coming in and talking right over us. THAT IS SO IMPORTANT in a restaurant, as it can be very annoying to the diners he's serving. The food simply could not be faulted, all three (different) dishes arriving and being professionally served together. Finally, congratulations on the background music, easy listening and at a carefully chosen volume. An excellent lunchtime venue, as its a good "all-rounder"!

We always love coming here, service is always perfect and polite. No crazy waiting times and food is always lovely.

Service was very good. Nice building, decor and atmosphrere. Food was nice but nothing special. Bearnaise sauce on the steak needs a new recipe; it was flavourless. Wine was good.

As always, wonderful food and friendly but not overbearing service. Cote has always, in my opinion, been first rate in their front of house/waiting staff delivery. We had Alex as our waiter today and he exemplifies that pattern - professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Cote Exeter is always busy...it's easy to see why!

We had a lovely night for my wife birthday service and food was fantastic. This is no a complat but we were very surprised to see that Cote as a company are not replacing the paper menus after each customer? In these times.

Staff were very welcoming and professional despite having to deal with the additional Covid-19 requirements. The food was excellent each course arrived promptly and the staff remained attentive throughout the meal.

Here today for my daughter's 20th birthday, the serve and food was perfection as always. Well done.

Always enjoy a visit to Cote in Exeter with it's views over the most iconic sight in the West Country - the west front of Exeter Cathedral. We had to kill an hour before being joined by our grandson; what better way then to spend this time at Cote? Consistently good food, wine and service; we are so pleased that they are back and up and running!

Fantastic food & fantastic service so glad Cotes has reopened, we hope to be back again soon. Sam looked after us all evening.
