It’s great to have you back at Esher and seeing our usual waitress smiling face and welcome was fantastic. Great service and food. Only request is hopefully in the near future you can offer your all in one breakfast ie choice of fruit juice, hot drink and food ( full English, French breakfast etc)
Loved eating in cote again. Sad to see the breakfast menu is not being served yet, so only had brunch... Can’t wait for the breakfast to be back... hopefully soon...
It was lovely to be back in Cote Esher. All the staff were friendly and attentive and the service was excellent. The food was very tasty. We all noticed that surfaces, chairs etc were being wiped down which is good and appreciated the visors being worn. It was one of my daughter’s birthdays and she had a lovely time. Thank you for helping make it a special occasion. We will be back.
Very good and great service - as always the creme caramel is the best ever tasted!!
Lovely to be back Missed you. Great food and service as usual
I feel sorry for the staff. The ridiculous visors are practically helmets. Customers can’t hear the staff clearly and worse still the staff can’t hear the customers. Whose idiotic idea was this? It literally alienates people. The food and service were fine but missed the lunch menu and specials supposedly dropped “because Covid...” I won’t be in a hurry to return whilst you dress up your staff like aliens and therefore treat your customers like plague victims.
Great that you are open again for eat-in meals. The service, as always, was friendly, enthusiastic and professional. The food was delicious as ever. The only frustration is your insistence on stating that there is a 12.5% service charge added to the bill whereas it is actually 15% because you add it to the VAT inclusive price.
Lovely to be back and be welcomed by the familiar faces of the lovely staff. We felt very safe because of the Covid precautions taken. Welcome back Cote. You were missed
Great you are open again. Bring back the breakfast please!!
Wonderful service and excellent food. The restaurant layout shows awareness of the virus challenge and tables and chairs were being (unobtrusively) sanitised as each customer left. Great to be back.
Lovely to have Cote Esher back in business with familiar and welcoming faces. Understand why the reduced menu but consistent as always.
Very good service, good quality of food, friendly and respectful staff. No reduction in the food bill, is this likely in the future?
So pleased you are open. Nice meal and staff. A few teething problems eg masks caused an ordering mix up but rectified quickly and politely. Cote is a regular haunt of hours and we hope you will add the brunch menu for more days soon.
We are regulars at Cote Esher and were so pleased to be back. Particularly pleased to see so many of the original staff.
It was so lovely to return to Cote in Esher. Everyone was so welcoming and professional. The food was delicious too! Thank you and we look forward to visiting again soon
Delighted you are open again. Great food and good service
Decent food and very attentive staff whom were especially accommodating in light of my friend’s various allergies. Good ambience. A very pleasant evening, thank you!
Why should I spend my money to listen to a screaming child? Not acceptable. Not the fault of the restaurateur but if you have a young child that you cannot control it is best if you stay at home. Would you like me to scream at you when you are spending hard earned money on a nice meal?
Very good courteous warm welcome good service & great food good value for money.
The set menu is excellent value, frequently altered to include enticing new dishes, all of which are beautifully presented. The serving staff are always attentive and the overall ambience of the restaurant is welcoming and comfortable.Definitely one of our favourites.
Esher Cote a great place to eat, the restaurant is lively, the staff happy and helpful and the food is excellent. A good choice of wine at prices for every occasion.
Wonderful early Mother’s Day lunch with my daughter. As always food was excellent and reasonably priced. So lovely to be able to enjoy the experience outdoors in sunshine
2nd time we have been for breakfast and what a beautiful breakfast we had x
Delicious food with lovely staff. I always enjoy going here and am never disappointed
The food was mostly delicious except for over cooked burgers which were blackened and dry, but overall experience let down by the service. Table wasn’t cleared repeatedly from the unused wine glasses to the starter plates remaining on the table when our mains were served. Orders weren’t taken without prompting and our first waiter walked off halfway through taking the drinks order leaving half the table out. The second waiter we had was clearly having a bad day or in the wrong job as he was snooty, snappy & plain rude! We requested he adjust the 12.5% tip for a lesser amount and he proceeded to snap at us for not telling him sooner. Management would do well to replicate the high standards in the kitchen to front of house for this place to be a success. There were only a few tables on a busy bank holiday weekend.... I understand why!
Always so good! Fast, attentive service, delicious bread, good sized portions. We have been coming to A Cote for ten years and still a winner with us.
Here in Esher we enjoyed a super friendly service, where the staff made us feel really important, and gave us the option of moving our table to the one near the window. We didn’t have to wait long until we received our meal, and the ambience was really homely and comforting. Food is good! Recommend Experience Thanks
Always a warm welcome and a great place to eat with quality food. Early evening menu is good value with a good choice. Love the complimentary water.
Great Food and Service as always! Our favorite restaurant in town. It's nice to always get a table, clean, comfortable, and super wait staff. Very satisfied locals.
Visited for my birthday - as I adore the fillet steak. It was such a treat! Teamed with frites and a tomato salad - perfection! They went out of their way to sing me happy birthday - which my friend deemed "mandatory". Would recommend.
Very enjoyable. Good food. Good service. A busy night but we didn’t get forgotten between courses. Will definitely book again and recommend to friends. Many thanks.
Lindsay our server was fantastic really made the evening, fun to talk to and excellent service. The food for me was a bit salty, I had the risotto and I could crunch the Malden sea salt flakes in each bite which I would have preferred not to but otherwise the food is good.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you to our MD who was most helpful. I have an injured foot but he made sure I was comfortable.
Lovely meal at Côte Esher. Great service by lovely staff who were so welcoming and looked after us beautifully. Food was really good and menu had lots of favourites.
There was a dead fly in one of our meals. The restaurant comped that meal and a £3 soft drink but this was unsatisfactory. A shame as we have often been before but this puts us off going again.
The staff are amazing. Shame to be over charged on the bill for a desert we didn't order and was brought out as a birthday surprise. The set menu great value the egg walnut bacon salad was piled up way too much. The steak was perfect the chips were slightly under fried and my side of beans were so over cooked they looked opague reminded me of school dinners
I LOVE Cote. Everything is right about it and that’s why I chose to have a birthday meal there. However something interesting happened over desert. I rather fancied the cheese platter which I have had a few times before, so duly ordered it. However when it arrived this was the conversation that ensued with the lovely waitress; Us - nice selection of cheeses, aren’t there usually some crackers or biscuits to accompany it? Waitress - No, it’s just cheese Us - that’s a bit weird, loads of cheese on its own and nothing to eat it with? Waitress - That’s how the french have it Us - but seriously, nothing to eat cheese with? I’ve had this desert in other Cote’s and I’m sure it comes with some kind of cracker? Waitress - No, definitely just Cheese, I’ll check with the manager. Us - this is crazy, JUST cheese on its own and no accompaniment?? Waitress - yeah lots of people have said the same thing Us - and???? So you see, we are a little perplexed. Perhaps someone from head office could let me know if we were being crazy or if that is the norm nowaday?
We love cote, especially Esher One waitress in particular who has been there a while now is great and her level of service is fantastic (wish I knew her name!)
We booked for breakfast online. We had the set breakfast, there was a good choice available, nice ambiance and the staff lovely. Definitely worth a visit!
A perfect evening with friends. Wonderful relaxed meal, delicious food and wine and attentive staff. Despite starting our meal late we were not rushed. Great value
Excellent food very well presented and the early menu is very good value. The staff were charming and polite, The only faintly negative point was that the restaurant was, not surprisingly, very full and the staff were struggling to cope. Service was when it arrived very good but a little bit slow for this reason the staff were hard pressed and were clearly doing their best to cope. I will certainly return on a regular basis.
The best table available and it was much appreciated. However I had with goats cheese salad and have to say there's a lot more salad, particularly soggy leaves than there was goats cheese. My husband had the steak tartare and Breton stew which was very nice and I had the creme brulee which again was delicious.
Excellent food, great service (not overly fussy!) very reasonably priced. Lighting spot on. The set up of the tables is really good you dont have the feeling youre doning with the people next to you. Definitely will be coming again.
We are regulars at Esher Cote and we love going there due to the friendly welcome, superb service and always excellent food. Although we occasionally go to other Cote restaurants this is the one we always return to. As it was my mother's 83rd birthday we were also delighted that the team took the trouble to give us a free aperatif. We don't think there's a better value dining experience and the fact that the menu is regularly updated means there's always plenty of great food to explore. A special mention for our waiter on the night - superb service, always knowing when to ask if everything was ok and when to give us space - a real skill many diners don't appreciate enough. Thank you!
We would have given 6 stars but due to a misunderstanding the main courses were delayed due to one of our guests from the Ukraine eating her starter course slowly (she was not having a main) and your staff rightly delayed serving the main Your manageress did her best to rectify this and she handled the situation well
Lovely dinner and excellent service. Hampered only by the slow arrival of the desserts.
Really lovely experience - the salmon starter was a winner Food wonderful and staff very helpful and attentive Can’t wait to return some time soon .
First time visiting and we had high hopes, we don't eat out often but it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were offered drinks and aperitifs when we sat down, so went for basic bread and saucisson. When the (3rd different) waitress served it she also took our main order, which subsequently arrived when we were only 5 minutes into the aperitif. We were obviously annoyed but she insisted on squashing it onto our table, but we'd rather have that then it sitting under a hot lamp for 20 mins. It was just bad planning but should be basic protocol for a restaurant - don't call a main before the table had started its entree. We were in and out in an hour, it felt rushed without us wanting it to be. We were given two free drinks but it didn't detract from such a basic error. Ironically, the pudding then took 15 mins, for a pre made mousse from the fridge.... Won't be rushing back.
It is Bistro dining of a high standard. There are many eating places in Esher but Cote is the best! I have never been disappointed.
The Valentines Day menu had a good choice and the food was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
