Côte Esher

Always enjoy eating at this restaurant, consistently authentic French inspired food and good service. I like the weekend and other special menus for a bit more choice.

We have been going to Cote, Esher for many years. We have come to know some members of the staff quite well and we had always enjoyed our visits. However, on Sat 17.03.2018, we were very disappointed both with the service and the food. We were met by a young, un-smiling, inexperienced waitress [possibly Eastern European] who then showed the same demeanor throughout our stay - it was as if she was blankly following the script but had no personal interest or emotion to put into it. Keeping customers at arms-length doesn't work for restaurant service! It was snowing outside and although disappointed by the cool atmosphere, we were looking forward to the warming Breton Fish Stew that we had enjoyed many times in the past. This time however, it was watery with fewer ingredients but more potato and more bread - not at all the Fish Stew we had come to know. We like the Cote brand but they appear to be cutting corners both on quality of staff and quality of food. In our view, these are the two most important qualities of a good restaurant and the experience was an overall serious disappointment. Not sure if we will go again.

If the poached eggs were runnier and they had green tea I would have given a higher rating. Despite that the service and the rest of food was good.

Cote Esher is always a great evening- terrific food and very nice people. We go there a lot and it never disappoints; service and ambiance are always spot on.

Good service although a busy lunchtime, very nice food. We enjoyed it, mother and daughter lunch, set menu, both had chicken followed by nice dessert. Would return.

I took visited with my mother on Mothering Sunday. The food was wonderful , lots of choice Ve on the menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant was good, despite being busy service was good . The waitress was welcoming, efficient and friendly. We had a lovely time.

As always the food was great with a lovely complimentary pudding as it was my birthday. The staff were also lovely and sung Happy Birthday to me

Great as always! Delicious food and attentive and friendly staff. Slightly slower coming out with the main courses than we might have liked because it was really busy, but our server was very apologetic.

Breakfast was great and service friendly and fast. We would have just wished the portions were a bit bigger in comparison to other options at the same price ( we had eggs Benedictine and French toast option)

Nice food served at a good pace - just right, to enjoy the meal without feeling you were being rushed or hanging around too long AND served with a very friendly & polite service...

Our favorite restaurant for a friendly informal meal lived up to our expectations last night. Friendly service, excellent food, time flew. We will be back again before too long.

Cote really has found the magic recipe, their menu is cleaver, affordable and always consistent . The staff are always so welcoming at the Esher branch and all in all it’s a pleasure to eat there. Well done to the Côte chain

Overall very good value and good quality still my favourite in Esher even though my Steak was awful last time - had I complained before the end of the meal they would have replaced it! Polite staff and very informative

Enjoyable evening, nice atmosphere & good service. Food very good, but potatoes were bit too salty. impressed that they were still offering the special price two course menus even though it was Mothers day & extremely busy.

Nice friendly staff, starters arrived quickly, but long delay until main course arrive, staff did apologise before we needed to complaint but restaurant although busy was not full, so not sure what problem was. Food very good.

We had another great meal, with 3 generations of us. We were celebrating a birthday, and had a lovely meal, always good choices, lovely desserts, and friendly service.

Our table was ready for us when we arrived, service was lovely and friendly. Food was excellent and well presented. Very tasty too!! Restaurant was beautifully light with a nice atmosphere 😊

Cote is always good value and the Esher branch easily the best in the area. They retain their staff and are always pleased to see you .

Great food, great service - what’s not to like! Never disappointed at Cote Esher - a better experience than The Ivy Cobham which was disappointing!!

Good food, friendly service, efficient. The only negative was that they crowded all guests into one area, while other sections of the restaurant were quiet. This was a mistake by front of house staff. Otherwise no complaints, a pleasant evening.

La Cote is an excellent chaine of restaurants, wherever you go they are all extremely professional, lovely setting with excellent service and delicious food and I have been to many in and around London, Esher is no exception. The seasonal Menu was again very attractive and what we chose delicious. Even though they are always very busy the service was perfect and we enjoyed our lunch very comfortably within the time we had.

Excellent as always. A couple of ordering mistakes by the waitress (who I think was new), but these were remedied with charm and no fuss.

Another lovely and relaxing evening, the manager and waitress were both so welcoming, food fantastic as always. Can’t wait to go again! A wonderful atmosphere

We have always been happy with our frequent visits to Cote Esher and yesterday was the same, very good food, friendly and professional staff, and pleasant surroundings

Had steak frites which was lovely. Meal not rushed. Given generous sized table. Will go again hopefully. Went to see Bolshoi Ballet at Esher Everyman so all in all a good day.

Went for a birthday luncy today and we loved it. The food was delicious and service was excellent - you have a great chef - thank you.

A very good family get-together! The food generally was delicious and my husband’s sea bass was particularly good. Our waiter, Ivan, was friendly, helpful and efficient. The timing of service if the meal was just right, neither too rushed nor too delayed. I have no adverse comments.

Service was good as usual. Although it was snowing outside the food was faultless. I hope the company appreciates the staff working on a day that most places are short staff of. Loses.

The lunchtime menu is superb and great value for money the staff are extremely good, very informative and attentive but not too much!! Excellent choice for working lunch prompt service or if not in a hurry you can take your time. All in all an excellent restaurant.

It is Always a pleasure to dine at Esher and the staff are brilliant. I can reccomend the vegetarian breakfast but swap for a meat sausage.

Great atmosphere and great staff, 5/5 for both. Good menu choice but sadly food was quite poor. Eggs Benedict was cold! Have eaten dinner at cote before and thoroughly enjoyed but breakfast was disappointing.

Lovely food, wonderful service and great atmosphere! We were a big party, including a young child, but service was still seamless. I would definitely recommend and will be taking my family back again.

A great visit for breakfast with friends. As always a warm welcome from the staff. Nothing was too much trouble the breakfast was up to its usual high standard. A small gripe- could the tables be slightly larger please?

Our lunch at Cote was delicious and served by excellent staff in a happy atmosphere. Cote never lets you down and is always a good experience.

This was an excellent choice for a working lunch. Good food, well cooked and served hot by a smiling, efficient and helpful waitress. The restaurant presented as well kept, clean and tidy.

The restaurant was very busy due to Valentines day. So we were placed at a table directly in the draft opposite the door - ice cold! It was also extremely noisy in there, due to wooden floors and no soft furnishings. Food was okay. Service good.

Service a wee bit slower than usual - but attentive and efficient. Food was usual good standard, but one of the party didn’t like her venison, so one star is dropped.

As usual excellent breakfast at Cote Esher, Formule deal represents good value including a full English breakfast with also juice, toast and a coffee too
