We are always made so welcomed and enjoy the food

Once again, a thoroughly enjoyable experience that my party of 6 really enjoyed - all agreed that Cote Esher is the best restaurant in the chain, and they visit a lot of them.

Staff were very attentive and we didn't have to wait too long for our meals

Front of house quick, polite and helpful as were waiting staff. Food and wine very enjoyable. Disappointed however to be told that it was not possible to order items across menus. Noise levels a bit too high, had to shout to make conversation.

Meal fine, but not informed in advance that credit card machine was not working and effectively shaken down for cash at the end. Embarrassing when our guests needed to chip in for us to have enough.

Great service to begin with, our original waitress went home and we got one who seemed overworked, she was darting everywhere and looked unhappy in her job as no one was really helping. Had to wait a long time for our starters too. Food as always was great

Good service and delicious breakfast. Coffee in cafetiere just the right strength and quantity.

As always, food and service superb. It was very busy when we arrived, but the manager Chris found us a nice table, and we had a wonderful evening. Thank you Cote.

The food was enjoyed by all four of us. The only improvement I would suggest is that with the Moules frites you provide a sensible sized container in which to place the shells. I was given a stupid little dish which was worse than useless.

5 of us 6 had the steak frites. All 5 were very chewy. One lady left hers because it was inedible. (That one was taken off the bill without us asking). The place was only 1/4 full but the service was very hit -and-miss: we had to ask several times for the right mustard and for another wine glass, and there was quite a wait for food after we had ordered. Not a very good experience overall.

We did not have a very good experience partly due to a very noisy party close by with one or two badly behaved individuals. The service was extremely slow although to his credit the manager did apologise and adjusted the bill accordingly. The food was good when it arrived.

3 of us had lunch and although we had booked a table there was no reserved table for us and initially an attempt was made to seat us right next to a noisy bar. The food was very good except that there was too much chilli in the fish stew which overpowered the fish flavours and although described as stew there was very little liquid more like a sauce. It was also very noisy. The coupe noir- vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce and a wafer biscuit was delicious.

Friendly service perfect poached eggs. Timely service. Well organised today.

A lot of loud people who probably came to the restaurant after the races... that was not pleasant. The food and service was nice, as always. Waiting times - slower than usual.

Friendly welcome and good atmosphere. Due to an accident of a kitchen member of staff we were waiting for longer than usual but the waiting staff explained and apologized for the delay. Overall we were well catered for and the staff were very friendly.

Great food and service as always. Maybe time to change the menu a bit.

Menu choice not available poor service and no visible management. We are regular customers and feel very let down

All excellent. However, the 'music' being played on the speakers was rather distracting. It was not even pleasant music, and was too loud. Why cannot restaurants just have a quiet ambience? Why must there always be noise?

Having been delayed due to u forseen circumstances and told our table could be held for only half an hour more we arrived just before the half hour was up to arrive at the restaurant that was quarter full! The staff were delightful until my husbands starter wasnt ordered, my main meal was more fat that lamb and my mirabelle dessert had been microwaved so that I couldn’t cut into it! Very disappointed as we love COTE and usually have good food and service.

The starters arrived in dribs & drabs, we had expected them to arrive together! Only 2 main meals arrived on time; 2 of us had finished eating when the other 2 meals arrived over half an hour later. The 2 people that had to wait were offered bread! No explanation was given. To be fair, we weren't charged for the 2 late meals or 1 bottle of wine. We all felt the Manager should have come to our table to explain the problem & been honest about the long delay.

Afraid the food was disappointing. Had the pork belly for main and it was very dry with undercooked cabbage and apple.

Enjoyable lunch enriched by good menu choices and good service. Bonus points for appreciation of those with dietary constraints and allergies.

Unfortunately, I had to give 1 star on this visit to cote. I usually rate it 4 stars and above and could not speak highly enough about how lovely the food was. On my other visits, I always ordered from the a la carte menu and was never disappointed. This time I went with my 2 adult children to celebrate my son's graduation. We decided to select the set menu, thinking it will still reflect the usual excellent quality, but as but also good value. I was really disappointed in both the starter and the main in terms of quality and quantity and value. The service was also not up to par. I usually go to the Kingston branch, but thought the Esher brach will also deliver the qulity in food and service. I was highly disappointed and will not be ordering the set menu ever again.

I don't usually give reviews under 3 stars and although the staff are very personable there is clearly a communication problem between departments. The timing of the second coffee was very slow considering I had heard the waitress say to the next table as soon as I order the drinks they will be made immediately. Someone needs to show the cheff how to cook scrambled egg! Are they using powdered egg? Not acceptable for a breakfast restaurant!
