Very much enjoyed the food, the service and the whole ambiance. Not sure there is more to write in this review when they ask for more words than wish to give
Great food and service !! All three of us had a very nice meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly visit again 👍
Efficient and friendly service as always and enjoyable lunch. It was a hot sunny day outside and the air conditioning inside initially seemed to be set too cold, but was not aware of it once we started to eat. Particular treat to finish with the crème caramel partnered with a chilled glass of Monbazzillac!
Delicious food & attentive service. The duck was wonderful & my companions fish stew smelled so good. Great food at a good price. Highly recommend
My friend and I shared some olives and a garlic bread starter. We both had the steak frites. Shared a bottle of Côte de Rhone. Food and drink were delicious. Service was great also. Not overly attentive but we felt very taken care of. Excellent value for money too!
We come here quite often and have never had a bad meal. The service is great and the food is very reasonable and a great ambiance 😋
It was all excellent. delicious food. immaculate service. good value for money and all in all a very happy experience . would recommend to everyone.
Nothing was too much of a bother. Good wine. Great food. Excellent service. Glass of fizz given complimentary as the wine wasn't chilled enough. Good added value service
Fantastic food, fantastic service...highly recommend. This is my second visit to Cote and it didn't disappoint. The chocolate mousse is a personal favourite and the prawn starter was outstanding.
Every member of our party had excellent food and the service was professional and attentive. I will definitely return to try some more of their menu.
We celebrated my birthday recently at Cote in Frederick Street, Edinburgh. Just 4 of us, but an excellent evening was had by all. The main meal ( three different steaks and one Seafood dish) were really delicious, as were the starters and desserts (with one Cheese course). We really rely on Cote for special occasions as the staff are so knowledgeable and couldn't be more friendly. Just what you want on a birthday night out ! Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyable. Food and service great. Will certainly be back. Good menu with lots of choices to suit everyone. The restaurant is very well situated in Edinburgh New Town.
Excellent meal from lunch menu. Attentive and prompt service. Joshua's drinks suggestions most welcome and he looked after us very well. First proper Croque Monsieur I've had in Edinburgh!
Good service. Good food all enjoyed although the couscous with the chicken had a slightly acidic flavour. The chicken was lovely though. Great price and wine well priced and tasted really good and was the cheapest on the menu.
Very good with great service and environment. Food was excellent with the fish stew being a stand out. Would also be interested in trying here for breakfast.
Well balanced menu; well balanced creations and first class service. My only past criticism of cold plates has been corrected. Excellent value encouraging another visit soon.
Service, food quality and choice, decor, ambiance, toilet cleanliness etc were all excellent. My only issue was the tight gap between the bench seat and table
Friendly and attentive service. Excellent food. House white wine inexpensive, but not great. We paid an extra £2 for a Muscadet sur lie - a lot better. Overall a very enjoyable lunch.
Food was excellent, BUT... Waiter seemed to be constantly in a hurry to clear our Starter and then Main plates even if, in two occasions, one of our party had not finished eating! MOST annoying! £9.50 "OPTIONAL" gratuity was simply added to the bill, so NO OPTION WAS PROVIDED For the above two reasons we will not be back!
We were welcomed and served in a nicely professional way, the food was excellent and priced very reasonably. All four of our party came away happy
Lovely food and excellent friendly service. Staff are extra helpful and had the two course lunch at £10.50. Great value. Have now been there about five times since discovering this restaurant.
Attentive staff, good crepe dish and delicious salad. House wine was great too. What's not to love! Will definitely be back in the near future.
Good overall menu and especially good gluten free choices, which are important to me as a coeliac. The service was excellent and the atmosphere pleasant.
Delicious meal, great table as requested, and service faultless and friendly. Our favourite restaurant in town: very good value and consistently tempting choice of food and menus, thankyou
Particularly for anyone coeliac, this Cote has an extensive gluten free menu which avoids all the usual questions when ordering. The food was really good, reasonably priced and the place had a nice atmosphere with a friendly service.
Very tasty food and great service in a nice atmosphere. Excellent value for money on the pre-theatre menu. The portions could be a little bigger though.
Excellent food Excellent prices Excellent staff and service Love it ! Great value for money in both food and beverages Third visit and returning next week !
We had an excellent meal and an recommend the duck and the lamb main course. The staff were very attentive and it was good to see the place busy, an indication of a good restaurant.
Excellent food and very attentive and cheery a ervice. I really like this restaurant. It is consistently good and has a great atmosphere. I will be back soon
Very good value lunch deal. Nice service. Good wine choice. Good choice of starters and mains. Extensive vegitarian menu for a French restaurant. Will be back.
Good service and great food. Staff were friendly and attentive but not ott. Veal was particularly good and small issue with one desert was quickly resolved. Also good value.
Staff were very courteous and friendly. We were not rushed to choose from the menus which had a good range of choices. The food was excellent with good portion size.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We ate from the afternoon/early evening menu brilliant value for money and a good choice of options. I'll definitely be back .
Great service, good food and pleasant ambience. Celebrating a birthday with old friends and perfect for having lovely meal to share and not noisy so could hear all our catch up chat!
I eat lunch in Cote Edinburgh reasonably frequently and find it to be an excellent experience: food and choice is of good quality; service is always pleasant and welcoming. An extremely reasonable price and varied choice of wine.
Food was delicious. Service was "relaxed"! Problem came with the bill due to ambiguous note on what turned out to be a la cartel menu (it doesn't say so) and we were not given the lunchtime special deal menu up front. However management altered bill in the end to the 2-course price.
Delicious food, courteous serving staff. It was great that all six of us in our party were served at the same time. Good eating experience.
Excellent food and service. On principle I object to an in-built service charge on the bill. We often tip more but only where that is left blank for our discretionary extra payment. Take it away and likely you'll get direct and more generous cash tips to the hard working front line staff.
Excellent lunch meal again at Cote Brasserie with a new tasty menu to choose from - great value for money with great service & atmosphere
I never have a bad meal at Cote. Great food, great service, great prices. Had a great specials menu too with three courses plus champagne. Lovely.
A warm welcome on arrival followed by attentive, pleasant and unhurried service. The set lunch offered good choices and the wine list was reasonably priced. The food was well presented, cooked and enjoyable, though more care required in removing the bones from the mackerel rillettes. Overall an enjoyable and good value lunch. I would have not hesitate in returning.
The food was a reasonable standard. The duck pate starter with toasted soda bread looked very bland (colourless) a little bit of greenery would have helped, even a sprig of parsley! It tasted okay though. Presentation not very great.
One of my friends is gluten intolerant and the choices she had were great. Just to be able to have chips was a treat for her. She had a great choice. She was given a GI menu and also she was able to eat most things of the early evening menu as well. We all had a lovely meal everything was really good. The reason for the 5 and not a 6 ....we waited for ages to have our order taken and we had to ask and still waited. But it was well worth the wait and once the order had been taken the service was excellent so its really a 5 and 3/4s.
Had a delicious lunch here today. Good value, good food and excellent friendly staff. Good location and perfect ambience. Faultless! Look forward to a return visit.
Attentive and friendly staff and lovely food. We had the two course lunch for £10.95 and consider it very good value. Well done Cote Brasserie.
We had a ok meal all though we thought the staff were not as good as previous visits they seemed to be a little unconcerned and not very helpful .
Lovely ambience. The service is excellent, the food is very good, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant and would visit again. .
Excellent steaks for all four of us. Superb service and knowledge of the menu from the waiter. Highly recommended and would definitely go back. Thank you
We were booked in for 7pm and arrived early so we're allowed to use the " offer" menu. Portions are small but otherwise good value . Good buzz and good staff
superb value on the set menu deal, great choice, excellent service, what did we do before Cote
