We had a nice lunch and service was very good. However, too many items on the lunch menu were not available. Also the wine we asked for not available. It shouldn't happen or at least replace the missing items don't just reduce the choices.

Had a nice family meal. It was fairly busy which made a nice atmosphere. Seemed pretty organised, nice surroundings and choice of food. A couple of things were off the menu which was a shame but quickly found an alternative.

Most enjoyable - ambience, food , service all excellent - most enjoyable, particularly the complimentary kir royale to celebrate my birthday, a great idea to make customers feel valued.

we had a very enjoyable and very good lunch. My 4 friends had not been before and were very impressed with the food and service. The only downside was I had phoned the day before to see if we could have our table in the rear part of the restaurant and was told that was where our table was and we were at a round table. On arriving at the restaurant we were shown to a normal table in the right area as another party had obviously been given the round table. This did not really spoil our get together but I had been told on the phone that I was allocated a round table.

A good meal, BUT they ignored our request for a table in the front room and we waited 30 minutes for our dessert though they said it would only be 10 minutes. They had a problem with making fresh creme caramel. On a culinary note, the bream was lovely but slightly overpowered by the flageolet beans and the garlic. Previous experiences very good and we will go back again.

We enjoyed great food at a very good price (early bird menu). The chocolate moose was amazing and the quality of the red wine was very good. Thank you

Went along for lunch and a catch up with a friend. Lovely food, good choice on al a carte, weekend specials and summer menu, very friendly and professional staff. The French onion soup was wonderfully cheesy and tasty - try it.

Good food, good value and excellent service. What more can you ask for? This was our sixth visit to various Cote restaurants and our third to Edinburgh, will certainly not be our last.

Good choice of varied dishes on menu. All the dishes were very good and the cost was reasonable for the quality. The service was also good and the waitress friendly.

Service was terrible, food was even worse. The girl who took our order wandered around the small restaurant looking for whoever ordered them. The accompaniments to my starter (a disgusting fish soup) arrived AFTER I'd finished the soup. Our main courses arrived while we were only half way through out starters, but they were delivered to the table next to us, who promptly pointed out that they weren't what they'd ordered. They were taken away and presumably kept warm for us. The Beef Bourguignon was chewy and very bland. The Fish Parmentier was a sloppy mess in a dish - the worst ever attempt at a fish pie I'd ever seen - it was NOTHING like a true Parmentier. Over priced, small portions, bad service,.... just bad overall. We will never go back. Please Note - CHECK YOUR BILL. They add a discretionary 12.5% to EVERY BILL for service - that you need to ASK to get taken off if you're not happy about it.

Beautiful table at the window for 4. Lovely polite and helpful waiters with a sense of humour. Tasty food. Terrine delicious. Men enjoyed the calamari, very fresh and tender. Onion soup from the a la carte very good also. Mains were 3 sea bass and one swordfish. All very good. Lovely crisp white napkins and good quality cutlery. Friends said it the best Cote they had experienced. It was better than the one in their home town. Very good experience and our friends enjoyed it. Very relaxing. So pleased as I booked it and it's always a worry when wishing it to be good when meeting friends for dinner.

One of the Best Restaurant Chains I know - I have rarely disliked anything I have eaten there. Service is efficient but not overbearing, and the Menu changes add to the interest of the meal. Excellent Value and two new converts made on this occasion

Food and service excellent but the "optional" 12.5% does spoil things a wee bit. Is this a case of London chains applying London standards to Edinburgh?

Variety and quality of food is great. I do not think 12.5% service charge should be added as a matter of practice - a maximum of 10% is more acceptable

Very good meal and staff. Had three courses and the March special which was swordfish was very tasty. The service was excellent. Not sure about the 12.5% service charge a bit steep for Edinburgh. More the sort of thing in London!

The food wasn't good. The Calamari was overdone with too much crispy coating. The char- grilled chicken wasn't char-grilled and only just cooked, the flavour of the chicken was nasty. However, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff were great.

Nice menu and wine list, and very good value. Staff pleasant and helpful. Two small niggles - we had to send our starter (fish soup) back as it was lukewarm, the croutons with it were a bit soggy; lemon tart was delicious but the pastry was a bit soggy. A recurring problem with the Edinburgh restaurant is the main door, it opens directly into the restaurant area, letting in a cold blast of Edinburgh weather each time customers come in or go out.

like the way that the food is presented to you by two waiters one with a large round tray holding all the food or the table whilst the second person hands it to you. No waiting all served at the same time.
