Excellent food served in convivial surroundings. Good choices in both the set and a la carte menus supported by a good range of French wines at prices to suit all pockets
Top service with friendly, knowledgeable staff offering information on the wines as well as the food. The lunch menu (served mid week until 7pm) has a great variety of options, including many gluten free ones, at a very reasonable price. Excellent value!
We have eaten at this restaurant on a number of occasions and the 3 course menu is good value for money. On our most recent visit the staff were very busy but failed to serve our starters at the same time. That said I would certainly return to the restaurant again.
Central location - ideal for Sunday lunch during the Fringe. Lovely lunch - great food and helpful, attentive staff. Extensive wine list and fab Kir Royale...
A lovely reasonably priced venue for a pleasant lunch with a French atmosphere. Good food and affordable wine with friendly staff. However, I don't like a service charge being added to the bill - a tip should be at the discretion of the customer.
Excellent food and service. We were upstairs in the restaurant which was completely empty and lacking a bit of atmosphere. When I go again I'll ask to be downstairs which was buzzing. Very good value from the early dinner menu and good reasonably priced wine. Will definitely be back.
Another fab visit - thank you yet again! Great choice of food & excellent service as usual ! We will be back again soon . Thank you
Good choice of restaurant for breakfast in Edinburgh city centre. Some different options and the boudin noir is so tasty. Good French cuisine to start anyone's day.
We had an excellent meal. The food is good and reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly.i love the ambience of the surroundings. This is my favourite restaurant for lunch.
We were a company of 4 enjoying a 3 course lunch. Clean plates following each of the 3 courses from all four of us. The service throughout was impeccable
Lovely city centre restaurant for relaxed dining. Lovely menu choice and very friendly service. Good atmosphere and good range of tables available. Worth a visit.
Had a lovely meal with friends on Saturday 19th August - at the height of the Edinburgh Festival. Although the restaurant was very busy, our service didn't suffer! The food was amazing (as always) and the staff were polite, yet friendly. We always visit Cote when we come to Edinburgh and for a very good reason - it never disappoints!
Fantastic as always. Great, service second to none. Food fab. I've been coming here since the restaurant opened and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive, the ambience just right so what's not to like?
Excellent lunch, good friendly service- a fair price , pleasant ambience- what's not to like? Just as pleasant for dinner which I had previously - I would recommend it.
Really enjoyed the olives and bread.Steak frites was as good as usual enhanced by the creamed spinach.A better selection of beers would be appreciated. Edinburgh Cote is well up to the high standards set by West Bridgford and Leamington.
Great meal and the service both from Indira from Newcastle in Edinburgh until the Newcastle restaurant opens and from Ferenc was also excellent. Would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of Cote Brasserie wil return and certainly recommend to friends. Really appreciated the linen napkins a nice touch. Could not fault the service.
Very first visit to Côte and could not fault it. Their loyalty programme is fantastic and the menu has a great selection of dishes across all courses.
Food was fine and service good. It warranted the 12.5% tip. Meal was good value although price of large wine is high. Restaurant was very noisy with cutlery and dishes being sorted abd hitting the floor. It was busy and the front door slammed shut all the evening because the door closer is broken and needs fixed. I could have quietened it with some cardboard I'm sure Just didn't have the magic it had in 2016. Now thinking we won't go back. It was special before but now just seemed ordinary.
There were four of us and we all really enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely be back. There is a good choice of dishes and the ambiance was good.
Great welcome and very attentive service from cheery helpful staff, offering a wide choice on the menu and producing good tasty food. We'll be back.
Excellent food and service. No complaints, at all. A group of five of us, none of whom were anything other than happy, we enjoyed our lunch at Cote.
An extremely enjoyable experience. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing after a busy day at the festival. Particularly appreciated the gluten-free menu; an essential for family members. Highly recommended.
Excellent place for a relaxed family meal with a quality menu which works for adults and children alike. Service was great. Location suited us well in central Edinburgh.
Excellent service with friendly and attentive staff and a delicious meal yet again, thank you. Would always recommend Cote Brasserie and it's one of our favourite restaurants.
Great welcome from staff. Nice decor and ambiance. Food excellent - French brasserie style in an unfussy way. Service also very good. Will be back.
Friendly staff but a bit slow on service. Menu was mixed and some dishes that we wanted were not available! What we had was good but you have to order some sides - why can't they produce a dish with some veg or salad to make it a whole plate of food?
Great food and wine which was served by great staff but tonight there was a cold draught in the rear dining room which was slightly uncomfortable.
Was a lovely meal very good service, friendly efficient waiting staff..but disappointed as requested a nice table as celebrating my partners Birthday but was put through the back in a buy area, so felt quite squashed and not as pleasurable as my dining experience there on Saturday night.
Very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good very good
The restaurant is well located just off George Street. It's spacious and the service is excellent. There is a substantial menu, the quality of the food is excellent and it's great value for money.
A generous choice of starters and mains, all well prepared and presented. Excellent value for classically based courses. Only weekness is the lunch dessert selection which doesn't really change.
Excellent service and great food as always. Good range of dishes to suit all palates and a great selection of wines as well. Very good.
Vichysoisse soup not cold enough. My choice of both main course fish and creme caramel were not available. How can this happen? Tables next to us remained uncleared for an hour. Very disappointing, worst Cote I've been to, especially as I took a guest. Yes it was busy, but during Edinburgh Festival this is expected and the service should have been planned better.
Excellent meal - good service - a bit noisy but only to be expected at Festival time. 12.5 service charge a bit cheeky but would still return.
Excellent set menu this month, as usual. We both had the cured pork loin with celeriac remoulade, followed by Hake and Poulet Grille, I couldn't fault any of the dishes. Service friendly and efficient.
A comedy of errors starting with unchilled wine! Followed by a leak in the roof, no de-caf coffee. Staff excellent though. Thank you Cote for coping so well. Thank you Cote for the complimentary wine. We shall return😀
we had excellent service the waiters were always there but were not intrusive. we had a very tasty chicken and bacon salad followed by the best creme caramel I have tasted in a long time . My friend had two scoops of ice cream and declared the chocolate to be delicious.A nice touch was having the li e for my lime and soda served separately.
Cote is a lovely place to eat, gorgeous food, lovely staff. Have been before and will certainly be back and will recommend to friends and family.
A lovely meal and excellent service. I'd recommend it for the ambience too. Worth visiting again and again. Edinburgh has many great restaurants and this is one you can be sure is consistently good.
Always a pleasant experience to eat at Cote. Food is fresh, delicious and prepared to a high standard. Staff are always welcoming and very friendly.
We visit Cote regularly, and not just in Edinburgh - great menus, food and service - with value added in. It's also very family friendly - and has lots of chocolate deserts! Great
Good value brunch offering, with tasty food but very slow to take orders and for food to be delivered. Staff friendly and poached eggs beautifully cooked.
Been to Côte often. The food is always reliable, the service is usually great and the lunchtime special is great value. On this visit, we were surprised to have very slow, uninterested service from 2 staff. Maybe new? When the change of shift came on later, all was back to normal, and staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
Good value meal with reasonable service. Atmosphere good but it was Edinburgh Festival time so would expect it to be busy. Cote has always been good.
Excellent service throughout; we decided to opt for the 3 courses early afternoon deal, deciding to share our main courses. Everything was fresh and tasty and decent sized portions. We will be back!
Exceptional service and very coeliac friendly. Two of us had three courses and wine for under £75. A wonderful and romantic dining experience! Can't fault them.
Very nice lunch today. Service very attentive. I enjoy eating here. Gluten free menu so no problems getting something to suit me.Will be back again!
Booked a table but wasn't ready and initial service was slow despite it not being overly busy. However food was excellent once it arrived and good value at £10.95 for two courses.
Excellent. The food was delicious, the wine of very good quality and all extremely good value for money. I was extremely impressed that, having arrived before some friends, we happened to mention that we had not seen them for 20 years. Cote's response was to provide us with a complimentary aperitif. Full marks for a very attentive gesture. I had already been to Cote a few days before this visit and we'll definitely be back.
