A warm welcome on a cold night with excellent comfort food and reasonable wine. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. The ambience was relaxed and courteous.

Food, service and ambience good as ever. One minor irritation: having asked for digestifs, we were automatically given large ones - only spotted after the bill was paid.

The food and wine was excellent, as we have experienced at other Cote restaurants in the UK. The experience was slightly marred by calling a taxi for us who didn't know how to get to a very well known local hotel!!

Lovely food, great atmosphere. I'd highly recommend coming here - I had the burger and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly and lovely chips to the side. And the desserts are fantastic.

Attentive, friendly service. Waiting staff anticipated well rather than us having to grab their attention. Nicely spaced out lunch tables meant not too noisy or close to adjoining diners.

Service - amazing service from the whole staff. All very friendly and attentive. Food - I had the French Onion soup to start and then Beef bourguignon. To say it was delicious would be a disservice - it was out of this world! Alas, I had no room for dessert but they all looked amazing coming out of the kitchen. I will be back. Soon!

Saturday lunch meal for four. Luckily the table wasn't required quickly so it extended into the early evening! All meals lovely - starters and mains. Staff excellent which definitely added to the whole experience. No hesitation in saying we'll all be back. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Excellent service both from the serving staff and front of house. We all (four of us) had the fixed price lunch menu and very good it was.

We went to celebrate my friends birthday. The 3 course set lunch was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful and made sure we were well looked after. My friend got a drink on the house when I mentioned it was her birthday which was a lovely touch and made us all feel good. All in all an excellent experience .

Great restaurant, with very good food for the price and a very romantic ambiance for Valentine's Day. Would totally recommend it! The only negative point is that I found the service a bit too quick for my pace. But everyone is welcoming and very nice!

Always a pleasure to eat here - one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. The food is excellent, and perhaps the only criticism, is that there's too much choice!

Lovely atmosphere here at the Edinburgh branch. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious and well presented food. Thank you. We will definitely be back to celebrate our birthdays.

Tasty food and friendly service. Given a choice of tables. Speedy service ordering and delivering the food. Would have liked more salad with the steak frites both otherwise happy.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Choice on set menu suited everyone in our party of four. One took the moules which turned out to be very disappointing. The top few mussels were plump and juicy but underneath were overcooked, stringy or not open. No one asked how the meal was so no chance to tell them as it was very busy. Rest of the meal was fine but the one bad main course made it not as god as expected. Also the practice of automatically adding a gratuity does. not sit well with us. We did ask for that not to be done and added what we thought was fair. White wine not really chilled and quite a lot poured on first serving then put into ice bucket which was a bit late. Overall we enjoyed the meal but their is room for improvement.

Great service and food was delicious, rewards scheme that they have helps free bottle of red or white wine have to sign up with email address and they send offers.

Very helpful and attentive staff. Lovely room upstairs in restaurant. Food was well presented and tasted very good. Lunchtime deal represented good value for money.

Lovely French restaurant with wonderful food, staff & ambience. I took my elderly parents who have limited mobility and poor hearing. This restaurant ticked all the boxes as far as acoustics, distance to disabled toilet and access to restaurant from the roadside we’re concerned. We all enjoyed our food & wine & will be back!

A lovely meal at Cote, with excellent service, delicious anchovy pissaladiere, charcuterie, lamb rump - and a free bottle of excellent Merlot (a special January offer). We will be back!

Another excellent Cote. Good food, service plus excellent value set menu until 7pm. A welcome addition to Edinburgh. Will certainly return next time we are visiting.

Good meal. Service good. Will return. Perhaps the bill was somewhat higher than expected. The weekday menu is good value, the weekend menu less so. I don’t think there should be such a big disparity.

Great central location, attentive staff, great food and a comfortable pretty restaurant. We were a group of 4 on a Friday night, all enjoyed our food and were not rushed but taken care off. Great evening.

Had an excellent late lunch with great service and fantastic food, especially the chicken special which was delicious. Good value too and their chocolate mousse along with the other desserts are excellent.

Lovely meal between us we had the crepe and the fish stew .then the chocolate mousse candidate creme caramel. I can highly recommend them. Staff were as attentive case ever

First time at this lovely restaurant. Waiting staff were very good, attentive but not overly. The atmosphere is warm, cosy and relaxing. The food was excellent and having visited France, very authentic. The gap between courses was just right. For me it's this small attention to detail that makes this place a winner. We will definitely be back!

A comfortable restaurant with a good selection of food and wine (the latter is overpriced but they are not alone in that). The service was efficient and attentive. The atmosphere was good but very noisy--- no-one was shouting , just a lot of clients under a relatively low ceiling.

Fabulous food, staff very attentive. Did a great job keeping cold wind out door was constantly closed behind diners who walk in and leave it open.

Great experience just disappointed that the beef bourguignon was out. Nice wonderful attentive service and good food Quality. The wine selection is suburb. We will return.

Lunch with friend, would have preferred table away from door, had booked table in advance, but service and food were very good, very acceptable wine at reasonable price. Would recommend and will return.

An excellent meal, good service and a very pleasant atmosphere but slightly let down by one of the main courses where the plate was extremely hot (and we were warned of this) but the food on the plate might be best described as warm. It made one wonder whether this serving had been ready a little early and had been put on a hot plate whilst the remaining main courses were still being finished. This was drawn to the Staff's attention and the matter was remedied. This slight hic-cup will not stop us returning to Cote.

2 of the mains had to be sent back. Supposed fillet steaks were tough as old boots. However staff were very nice and replacement dishes were arranged. The only problem was that as this was a birthday celebration and 2 people had to eat alone.

Love this restaurant but last Sunday they were slightly off their game with slower service than usual although once the food arrived it was as good as usual.

Great food but disapointed with the 12.5% service charge wont be back again because of this as I would rather decide if the service warrented this

The Cote Brasserie in Edinburgh, conveniently located in the centre of town, has a comprehensive a la carte menu and usually one or two other menus to choose from. Food is delicious and well presented and served. Prices are comparable with other establishments of this type. A service charge of 12 and a half per cent is automatically added. Staff are welcoming and neat. The premises are attractive and function on several floors. There is no lift.
