Still a fan of Côte but last night was clearly an 'off' night. Slightly shambolic and the guest of honour had to settle for his third choice of main. Food generally seemed a notch lower than we'd experienced before. There seemed to be inexperience among the staff (fair enough) but it was in evidence throughout the meal and was disappointing for us and our guests from Australia. We'll be back but will hope to find normal service is resumed.
Lovely evening in relaxed atmosphere with good friends. Small issue where my wife's duck was undercooked and very tough. Restaurant recognised the issue and did not charge for it. Apart from that as always excellent food and service
I go to Cote restaurants across the country quite a lot, this was first time in the Edinburgh one and found it to be reliably consistent with the others. Food quality is good and service is decent.
Lovely restaurant, we had the set menu and the food was excellent. The restaurant was very busy for midweek which reflected in the service, it was a bit slow, especially at the end when we were waiting to pay the bill.
Great value for money on the lunch deal Monday to Friday. That was my second visit and returning again in June for Saturday lunch with the girls
Friendly helpful staff and delicious food . Good combination for a lovely lunch. Have never been disappointed so far. Long may that continue. Look forward to the next one
Very good, the GF menu is great & the kids menu is fab. Would definitely recommend Cote to my friends or any Coeliac people, th y now what's important to us.
Really great food and service. Very allergy aware.Entertaining chats with Andy the manager made for a lovely evening. Throughly recommend this place in a quieter spot in a busy city.
The food was lovely, as always. Steak frite perfectly cooked and refreshing lemon sorbet. The staff are always friendly and courteous, despite the restaurant being full. Will definitely be back.
Appalling service - had to ask to order and had to ask for every course. Took over 2 hours for 2 courses from the set menu
Lovely restaurant, warm & welcoming staff, great food and relaxed atmosphere. Only negative is that the service was a teensie bit slow, ie we often had to attract the attention of a waiter/waitress for service. Otherwise, would thoroughly recommend.
Ego of quality, generous portions, although my choice of main had run out by 12.30pm which was not impressive. I think the nicest part of the Edinburgh restaurant is the back area.
Excellent food, and service was up to usual high standard delivered by staff at Cote brasserie whenever you go in UK. Booking good idea as busy even on a Tuesday.
We had a nice meal but the service was slow. Th meal was more expensive than I'd thought it would be, even though I'd checked out the menu online before visiting.
Our waiter was nice but very busy and therefore the service was slow. My sister's main course was not hot and she had to send it back. Our waiter did make make a special effort to please my grandmother as she was celebrating her birthday.
Excellent service and delicious food. We had to change our reservation at the last minute and they accommodated us with no problems. Definitely will be back!!
Nice food but portions rather small. We still felt hungry when we left. Service was polite but the waitress did not look relaxed or happy.
Service and staff good. Not my first time at Cote, but I felt that the food was not quite up to the previous standard, on this visit.
Good service, attentive staff, delicious food. Only reason it's not a 6 is there was an issue with kir royal and so we couldn't have them.
The experience was good. Made to feel welcome, friendly intelligent service, and food was fine. Cannot really fault. Not at all bad at the price.
Restaurant couldn't cope with numbers. Long time between courses . Sorry - refused to pay service charge. Always find the food good but not the service in this particulate restaurant .
Friendly waiter, excellent food and reasonable price. What's not to like! The duck with cherry sauce and Breton fish stew were both cooked to perfection.
First visit to this branch and yet again Côte continue to impress through excellent service great food and lovely surroundings. Had the two course lunch deal. Portions of a good size and very tasty
As usual the food was excellent, from a wide choice of options. Service good too. But oh so horribly noisy. A large cackling bunch of inebriated women at a nearby table completely drowned out conversation and rather spoiled the evening.
Great deal for lunches or dinner if before 7pm, 2 courses for £10.95 or 3 for £12.95. Good size portions for deal meal too. If getting water ask for ice as water comes in earthenware jugs and warmer than we felt it should be.
Great food! Reasonable prices! A fave spot! I have visited 3 outlets of this chain. Consistent food and service across the board! Def try the creme brulee!
Great food and service. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Aye from the a la carte menu but plan to return to try the set menu. Looks great value
Excellent atmosphere: very friendly staff: good food: great value - what more could you want? Have been to Liverpool Oxford and now Edinburgh- all good.
This is a lovely restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. The set menu is good value for money and i like how the restaurant change the menu every month. The restaurant is well laid out so tables are not to near other. I have recommended this restaurant to many friends who have enjoyed their visit
A nice restaurant. The staff very efficient and friendly, food nice and good value for money. I will definitely return and would happily recommend to friends.
Excellent service. Poor dish. Not the normal standard one would expect from Cote Brasserie. However, the staff dealt with the concern in an excellent manner.
Excellent brunch, the black pudding is delicious !! We used the deal which was a cooked breakfast plus tea/coffee and juice. It was well worth it, will be back again.
Excellent service and food great relaxing atmosphere. Would go again. Such a relaxing evening.Great value for money staff attentive and helpful but not in your face.
Always tip-top 👍 A lovely sanctury during festival time which can be very busy and closterphobic: but not Côte. Food was served quickly and delicious as always with drink constant flowing. Staff brilliant every time 💋
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good range of dishes. Very reasonably priced lunch menu. Quick service. A very enjoyable outing, I would go again and recommend it to friends.
Always a pleasure to stop by this cotes for dinner after a busy day in town. Customer experience is alway what you would expect as is the quality of food
Slow service. Arrived at 18:55pm for a 19:00 reservation. Given lunch time menu (12pm to 7pm) as well as main menu. Ready to order food at 7:01pm only to be advised that lunch time menu was no longer in operation!
Food, chicken, steak and wine very enjoyable. Service a little slow to start off with but improved immensely. A good way to celebrate my birthday.
Waitress had very bad attitude almost to point of rudeness and arguing with customers . Gin and tonics served with diet tonic without asking preference told no ordinary tonic and when asked to take drink back eventually a bottle appeared ! Most disappointing all round and we were not asked to order vegetables with our main course either .Some serious training required have had lunches before and excellent all round so this was not good in any department even wine request was out of stock .
There was a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. There was a good selection of starters and main courses. Be aware of the "optional" 12.5% service charge added to your bill!
Friendly staff, good service and excellent food. Very good value for money .Have been several times and recommended Cote to friends . Will be back again soon
The restaurant has great ambience and the food was delicious. I have an allergy and at first there was a mix up over what I could eat, but they were very apologetic and soon remedied the situation.
Lovely restaurant, nice seat in the window very attentive staff. Excellent starter Boudin Noir, beautiful main course and lovely rose wine . We will return!
Our waitress was disinterested, efficient, but no warmth. The bottle of wine we wanted not available so we were offered a more expensive one, we asked if it would be a the price of the one we had chosen and after discussion with the Manager this was confirmed
Tasty meal & good value for money but chicken main course & cheesy potatoes served lukewarm. Also salad starter served on flat plate and main course served in a bowl!
It was very nice would recommend. Toilets could maybe do with a revamp though. Apart from that would go back again. Food was delicious, menu varied
The food was excellent as usual, and great value. We had a waitress we have not seen there before - would have been rated a 6 except that we had to ask her for cutlery and napkins after she had brought our dishes!
Excellent food and service. The staff are extremely helpful. Great atmosphere too. Well worth a visit. We visited on a Saturday night even though it was busy food and service were extremely swift.
The staff are excellent and the food is superb, just love going to this brasserie the atmosphere is buzzing and lots of fun. Excellent value for money.
We had a lovely lunch at Cote The staff are all exceptionally friendly and the upstairs restaurant was light and tasteful. The set menu was delicious and seemed extremely good value.
