I booked a table at Côte to celebrate my wedding anniversary, and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere, the food, and the service were 5 out of 5. Just amazing. The place is all cozy and romantic, ideal for couples, but also casual enough to spend time with friends and family.
Service was slow. Food was good but my husband thought the portions of fish pie were a bit on the small side. Plenty of chicken in the chicken salad.
Great atmosphere menu selection excellent and gluten free options excellent.
Excellent food and friendly, efficient service. We are now regulars at Cote and have been to one in Cirencester and St. Albans as well as Edinburgh. Definitely one of our favourites!
Good, friendly service. Enjoyed the wine. Chicken was a little dry and music too loud for my taste but generally pleasant. Fine for lunch time.
The food and presentation was very good and maintained the fine standards set in the restaurant. Unfortunately I was not aware that the "set menu" priced for 2 courses or 3 courses was unavailable and got quite a shock when the bill arrived. However I appreciated the food and paid without criticism.
Nice bright and spacious restaurant with friendly staff. Excellent food and a very pleasant venue for lunch. Just hope prices remain stable for some time.
Food was excellent plenty of choices and nice Christmas extra options , service reasonable. Negative was a draught through the window where we were sitting .
Once again Cote has not disappointed. The staff were welcoming, efficient and friendly. The food was presented in a most tasteful way and was served hot which is not always the case when a restaurant is busy. Not sure if I like the service charge included in the bill but I suppose this is becoming a more frequent occurrence. All in all a very pleasant visit and I am looking forward to the next one.
Was OK, good service but food wasn't as expected. I ordered salmon but some of the potatoes had black bits on them. I expect somewhere like this to have better food quality.
I enjoyed the 2 course Christmas lunch deal, and at £18.95 good value, while friends chose from the main menu and enjoyed their pork belly,
Starters were cold, mains very good. Olives not delivered with the xmas menu. Room upstairs went very cold so jumpers and jackets where put on!
Good value as usual. However I didn't enjoy as much. Perhaps I should have chosen Christmas menu. Starters were excellent but mains not as tasty as usual. I will be back however.
Good vibe and good food. And not too busy. Even this close to Christmas. Superb service throughout the night Well enjoyed by all our party.
Good food, good value. Service was friendly but not always attentive - although to be fair the restaurant was very busy at the time. Steaks were ordered each differently cooked but the waiters did not know which was which when brought to the table. Otherwise everything was very good indeed.
Food and service excellent. Unfortunately a table of 12 rowdy gents next to us meant that we could not hear each other. They spoiled a 50 year reunion of school friends. Not the restaurant’s fault but perhaps they should put large parties in a separate room.
Excellent welcome, excellent service, food and wine - a very pleasant experience. Please give my thanks to all staff. I wish you all a very merry Christmas and best wishes for 2018.
Welcoming as always. Lunchtime was very busy and exceedingly noisy. Waited about 15 minutes for water, then service was good. Meal was lovely, steak frites then lemon sorbet. Thanks
Food and staff excellent. Disappointed that hefty service charge placed on bill although was quickly removed when requested ! Will be considering a return visit.
The food and drink was excellent, and the restaurant has a really good atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone for a good night out.
Very happy with our experience. The vegetarian and the coeliac in the group were really impressed with their separate menus.Food was very good and service efficient.
Excellent service and food only problem they had a power cut so we were sat in the dark for the rest of the evening !
The food was excellent and the waiting staff fairly attentive, though we had to ask for a wine list despite having told the waiter we’d like some. Towards the end of the meal, something went wrong with the lights and we were plunged into darkness. Someone opened an outside door (obviously to try to rectify the situation, but it meant that as well as being dark it was very very cold. No one came to explain the situation or offer us a complimentary drink and when we asked what the problem was we were told that the electricity company were sending someone out and when we said we were cold, there was a bit of a shrug. This was a celebratory evening with 4 friends, one of whom was leaving fon an extended trip and we felt the end of our evening was rushed as it was too uncomfortable to sit and chat as we had wanted too. Disappointing.
Fab.... a big group served politely, quickly and efficiently. Perfect. Would recommend Côte to anyone. Staff were excellent and the house wine is great VFM.
We only had B &B, which was excellent, hot choice very good, the cold equally as good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Look forward to staying with Ibis again
Still quite good food and pleasant service, but set lunch menu price has gone up by about 50% since my last visit earlier this year, and now seems a bit pricey for this standard of food. Also 12.5% service is now automatically added to the bill (always a bad move from the customer's point of view), whereas previously service was included in the price. There's a lot of competition for set lunch menus, so I don't think I'll be back.
Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. Enjoyed it so much that we booked to go back over the the festive season and take some friends with us.
Love this place! Outstanding value for such great quality authentic French dishes, fantastic friendly service, lovely decor and a warm inviting atmosphere. What’s not to like!
Overall our experience was good but not quite as we had hope for. Having been at the restaurant just two weeks earlier when some of the main course dishes where not available, we were looking for an improvement this time. However. whilst all the food we ordered was available, we selected the prawns and were very disappointed in that all of the three orders had prawns that were slightly warm but not hot as we would have expected as this is the way to serve them. In addition there was a light/electricity failure which affected the whole restaurant. Service and ambiance were good and we will return, assuming that some of the problems are resolved.
Th9s our 3rd Visit to Cote in Edinburgh and also visited the branch in Leeds. Once again was not disappointed superb foood at very resable prices, `Great value for money plenty atnosphire. Can't wait to return yet again to Cote in 2018.
I've dined in Cote many times now and will return many times more as it's by far the best eatery in Edinburgh at the moment. Fantastic food, excellent value for money, brilliant service and the most relaxed atmosphere. And last week, on an extremely cold day, it was toasty inside!
Great food, lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. My daughter changed her order, we asked to change table and they gave us a doggy bag ( for our dog)- all with a smile!
Great restaurant with lovely menu . Good value . Excellent service from friendly staff . Def worth A visit. Good location and nice pubs on sane street in Edinburgh .
The food was lovely and there was good atmosphere. This is the third time I've been and its been v good every time. Would recommend trying this brasserie.
There was a power cut so we were not able to eat at Cote. We had to find another restaurant and wait till 9:45pm for a table. We had overseas visitors so it put a bit of a damper on our evening. Staff worked well on difficult circumstances.
We had a lovely lunch. Great food - lots of choice and different menus to select from. Friendly, unobtrusive service, nice ambiance and good value for money
Food excellent but we were seated near the dish clearing area which was extremely noisy with one waiter seeming to make as much noise as possible
White wine not chilled, bench seats which were not giving support and not too comfortable for us elderly ladies.Service was supposed to be optional but was already added.
Food was really good, and I liked the ambience, the background music wasn't too loud. Would go again. I went for the supper menu which was great value.
Third visit and each time the food was consistently very good. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly but not overbearing staff. For the money I think they hit the spot.
Our first visit to Côte edinburgh, but certainly not our last! Although the restaurant suffered a total Power cut midway through our meal, the staff handled the outage extremely well. Our slightly amended dinner choices were produced in good time, and the food was enjoyed by everyone. The staff went to great lengths to explain what had happened, and were full of apologies for something that was out of their control. Putting the emergency to one side, we were warmly welcomed on arrival, our table was ready, and the service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent and overall, good value. The layout was good , the ambience very cosy, and we shall definitely visit again, and not only to enjoy our complimentary Kir Royale which were offered as compensation for the disturbance caused by the Power cut!
Lovely food and good service at reasonable prices. My friends and I will definitely go back again. Love the creme caramel even though not good for the diet
The atmosphere at Cote is very pleasant and relaxed. Food is tasty and the set menu has a reasonable choice and is good value. Staff helpful, attentive and no pressure to rush away.
A great lunch today, all very enjoyable and great service from all the staff. We will certainly return for more, and very soon! Jenny- Edinburgh
I am a big fan of the early evening menu which changes every month and offers a great selection of well cooked food. The staff are very professional , friendly but not intrusive. The wine prices are fair and I am also fond of the occasional cheeky pernod. Very French!
Delicious food. The staff were all friendly and very efficient. I will definitely be recommending it to friends and colleagues. Ideal location in the city centre.
Lovely friendly staff - this was my third visit for lunch. The only reason it isn't a six is we had to ask for side plates and then they didn't clean the table of the breadcrumbs we had caused due to earlier lack of plates and set our dessert spoons in the crumbs. My first time sitting upstairs and I would say there is better atmosphere downstairs probably as there were more people in. Small matters in an otherwise flawless dining experience. Food is lovely and great value. I especially liked the apple crumble! Well done to the team!
As always the food and the service were excellent. My wife chose three courses from the early evening menu which provided very good value. My selection was from the December menu and the rib eye was done to perfection.
Myself and four friends enjoyed a delicious three course meal this evening served by friendly and efficient staff. My friends had not visited this restaurant before and were most impressed with the ambience and the quality of food. Good value for money and I have no hesitation in recommending Cote.
Food excellent: Waiter service very good: atmosphere warm and not noisy! Altogether a very pleasant dining experience. To be recommended as a very nice place to have a very good meal.
