Food excellent and waiter very good. Upstairs a bit cold.

We come to Edinburgh fairly frequently but somehow I’ve never been aware of Côte. I found it through Trip Advisor when looking for somewhere for a meal before a Book Festival event. We went for the pre-theatre menu, which had a great range of starters, mains and desserts. Everything was had was excellent. My pork tenderloin was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient too. We will definitely return.

Once again we enjoyed a very good pre-theatre 2/3 course meal. The staff was very attentive and service very quick. We will certainly be back again

Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. Excellent starter (pate) and I didn't really notice the noise level as I was too busy enjoying my moule frite, the wine and my wife's company! Defo will be back!

As usual everything was first class. Restaurant really busy but service, especially our waiter, was excellent. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great.

We selected from the prestige set menu everyone’s food was delicious and nicely presented.

Good service and nicely cooked food.Fillet steak and grilled chicken were very tasty and there was a delicious dressing on the green salad. No complaints and would return if back in Edinburgh

Cote is always of a high standard every time. Food is always consistent and very good service

So noisy we couldn’t hear ourselves think. Soup was very salty and the DRIED herbs took over the flavour completely. However main course of butterfly chicken salad was delicious. My companions enjoyed their coffees too.

Our first visit to the Edinburgh Cote was excellent. We could not fault anything. We felt looked after from start to finish by all the staff and the quality of their service would put many restaurants to shame. All the food was great and we will definitely be back.

The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing!! The staff there are so friendly and kind. I am not from the area and I asked for help with directions and they were more than happy to help. Me and my fiancé have had the best night!

Warm welcome, and changed our table with no fuss. We wanted one out of the way. Stayed over 3 hours and we weren’t rushed out. All the staff were charming and attentive without being in your face. 6 of us had a lovely afternoon. Excellent, tasty, hot food. Full marks and thank you.

Made the booking many weeks ago. Table in window was just being set up as arrived. Nice position. Nice welcome and service. Good as good as usual. Very busy Fringe Sunday but still lots of smiles.

Excellent food. Service abysmal. No side plates for bread order. Offers not explained properly. Rude waiter. Asked to leave table whilst finishing wine (no hand back time requested at booking, ). Manager took ages to attend to us whilst waiter refused to take order Shame as a lovely restaurant.

Have eaten here frequently with 4 friends (all of us retired "ladies who lunch") and we have always enjoyed it - the food is wonderful, fresh, well-cooked, beautifully presented. Staff are friendly and efficient without being overly attentive. The only slight annoyance is that the noise level is fairly high which can make conversation for 5 elderly ladies quite trying! But still we return which is testament to the splendid food and staff. Would highly recommend.

We loved the food, great value for money and great quality. While we got the table in the window we asked for, thank you, we did feel at times we were overlooked for service. We weren’t in a huge hurry but we did need to seek service on two occasions. In fairness restaurant was busy, Edinburgh, Saturday, Fringe and sunshine, but still staff could have been a little more on the ball.

We had a pre-theatre meal. It was extremely good value. Just a shame we hadn’t allowed long enough for a dessert. Good quality and tasty food, service very prompt and pleasant. Only slight disappointment is a charge for bread, which I feel should be provided at no cost.

Firstly, the best thing about this restaurant is the quality of the food. We had pâté, seafood, pasta, salad, and amazing desserts - all full of subtle flavours and quality ingredients. The service was impeccable from Justinya, who was engaging, helpful and prompt, without being overly attentive. We had the perfect accompaniment in a superb bottle of Pinot Noir. All of this for about GBP45 per person – a little pricey but definitely worth it. We were in the back section of the restaurant but probably would have preferred the brighter front section – this maybe depends on your mood. We will be back!
