Côte Edinburgh

Very efficient and friendly staff who made our lovely meal particularly enjoyable. No delays, we’ll cooked and seasoned food of really good quality. Reminiscent of my favourite bistro in Vence near Nice.

Excellent as always. Service first class. Booked again for tomorrow evening! Friends who joined us today were really impressed and rated it the best meal they had had for a long time!

Service was unusually slow today and the bacon was dreadfully dried out but due to the time we had waited we decided not to delay further. Good value breakfast.

Welcome when we arrived was very pleasant. The service was very good and food excellent.

All was well until towards the end of our dinner when we were made far too aware that the staff were anxious to clear up and go home. So the clattering of cutlery and glasses being stowed and night manager standing on a ladder auditing his stock and all staff concentrating on winding up the evening and ignoring guests who were still hoping to finish their dinner caused us to abandon our meal prematurely and depart. The table waiter was charming but badly let down by a weak and ineffectual manager lacking the courtesy and understanding that the situation required. As regular and persistent Côte customers, we were singularly disappointed by this lack of professionalism especially since it spoiled an evening that we had much been looking forward to and anticipating the Côté customer service and ambiance we have hitherto experienced. Food, service and ambiance were all very nice.. the chocolate mousse was outstanding, entrees and appetizers very nicely made, tasty and quality products for a very reasonable price. You can’t go wrong.. nice evening out

I booked the private dining room at Cote, Frederick Street, Edinburgh for a group of 10 so that we could celebrate our dear friend's BIG birthday. We had a wonderful time: great food, lovely wines, and impeccable service. The Cote team did everything to make the lunch go smoothly and I warmly recommend to anyone looking for a stress-free group lunch experience.

I’m afraid it wasn’t good at all but understand circumstances dire as probably last night before closing because of Covid-19. First choice of chicken was with mushroom option was unavailable so ordered steak rapide - it was inedible. waiter was apologetic and it seemed fairly obvious that he thought so. I hastily ordered the fish goujons but they arrived after my daughter had finished hers so it wasn’t enjoyable. I would have thought there would have been some kind of an offer for a discount but sadly none. We paid and left. Do realise that it was a very difficult night for everyone though. Good luck to Cote as we love it usually - our local is in Cambridge.

Lovely ambiance and great food. Dark chocolate pot is heavenly! Great to see the restaurant is still busy despite the uncertainty.

After several visits over time happy to find the standard hasn’t slipped in the least.

The lack of soft furnishings make it noisy, so not great for people with hearing issues. The haddock was a bit dry. However, the food and service were otherwise faultless and we really enjoyed it.

The restaurant is lovely. The staff are so courteous and pleasant. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. The set menu is a great price ! So too is the House Red and it’s a lovely, light wine. This is such a great wee restaurant and next time I am in Edinburgh I will definitely be eating here. A good location round the corner from one of the best shopping areas in Edinburgh. Met the Cote manager from Harrogate! Always consistently good food and service at dinner.. The best breakfast in town as well. About time you re-opened in Lincoln.

Superb as usual. The St Germaine cocktail was wonderfully refreshing and started our meal off well. The risotto vert was piping hot and full of green vegetables. The roast duck with cherry was juicy and tender and the best duck I've ever had. Creme brûlée and cope noire finished off our meal nicely. All was washed down with a bottle of merlot. With quality ingredients, value for money and dishes like these to chose from, why go anywhere else?

Always a lovely meal , great service and value for money

For the second time this week my steak was served rare and not medium rare. The first occasion the entire steak was replaced which was a nice touch and I wasn't charged. The second time whilst I said just cook a bit more it came back was such black grill marks it wasn't pleasant to eat. I didn't say anything because that would have meant another delay and my friend had almost finished her dinner when I got mine back. Chef either needs to be taught how to cook steaks or ask someone else to cook them. This is a waste of time and money for Cote. The calamari was lukewarm despite being served in the small frying pan that was cold, what's the point of that? My dessert was lovely. The bearnaise sauce was minimal with too much tarragon. Not your best performance.
