Côte Dorchester

Dinner here on a Friday evening which was great! Despite being busy the staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. The food was very good - lovely roquefort salad and beetroot salad to start followed by excellent roast chicken supreme and lamb rump with fennel. The dessert special - pain perdu - was brilliant! Overall a great evening and lovely meal - Cote at its best.

The best meal I have ever had at a Cote restaurant, excellent value for money! The service was perfect, as too was the accompanying wine.

The menu had a good choice and included daily specials. Food and wine were reasonably priced. Pleasant ambience but like so many modern restaurants it was somewhat noisy due to the style of decor, hard flooring and lack of soft furnishings to absorb sound. We will definitely come here again.

Firtst time at Cotes it was a fantastic meal and staff were so helpful. This was a Birthday Celebration and it went beyond my expectations. Thank you to all the staff.

We had booked a table for 2 and arrived at 3.40pm . There were half a dozen other diners there and a number of uncleared tables. We chose a table by the window which was laid up for 4, as those for 2 had either not been cleared or were waiting to be wiped and/or laid-up. We were eventually approached and asked if we would like to order drinks; we were able to give our food order at the same time as we had had plenty of time to study the menus. We also pointed out that there were tables nearby that had not been cleared. When the food arrived it was absolutely delicious and well up to the high standards that we associate with Cote. We are fans of Cote, and wherever we travel in the UK one of the first things we do on arrival is check where the nearest branch is. We have eaten at the Dorchester Cote many times;on this one occasion we were disappointed by the somewhat lackadaisical approach of the staff but not with the food which was as delicious as ever.

steak was good, but it is pricey for a chain restaurant. 80 plus pounds for two with only Perrier to drink, seems a lot to me in a rural town.

Food was very good but due to lack of staff service was very slow not the usual experience we have had in the past and on a Sunday night.

Efficient service and a delicious breakfast, we didn't have to wait for anything, plenty of choice on the breakfast menu, which makes a nice change

too much oil on the main course but otherwise very tasty. It was very good value on the two courses for 10.95p, am looking to go again soon

Rushed and poor service . Food was lovely though . Never eaten 3 courses in 45 minutes ! Shame as usually great service . I am sure it's the set menu and you don't get quite the same service

Excellent meal and service. Staff were very attentive and well informed of the menu choices. Steaks cooked to everyone's requirements as always. Would recommend to friends and family.

Quality food with good service, a really nice atmosphere with just the right amount of background noise which meant good conversation all evening.Definitely would recommend

We've always found Cote Brasserie in Dorchester very good and consistent. But we've been to quite a few others around the country and they've been similarly good. The whole system behind CB seems to be very well thought through and well managed. The staff are obviously well trained and managed. My wife is Coeliac so has to have a strict gluten free diet and they have always been very good and catered well.

A fantastic meal and the service was outstanding they couldn't do enough for us also the table was booked for 9:00pm but had to move it forward to 10:00pm On the night and they were fantastic about it.

We chose to go for the special Anniversary menu, although most items are on the regular menu anyway. The meal was superb, we had a lovely young waiter - his first week, and enjoyed good service. Overall it was good value for money too.

Really lovely meal. The restaurant was busy, but the service was still very good, it had a lovely atmosphere. The food was some of the best we had eaten at Cote. I would highly recommend it.

When we arrived we were greeted with a smile from Kate the manageress. We had a lovely breakfast and with us were 2 relations from America. They were very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Well done Cotes and thank you

We were a group of five people, including two children. The food and service were excellent, as always, and the children were able to play safely just outside the restaurant in Brewery Square, when they got bored with sitting at the table. It's a great place for families.

Once again we had a really delicious meal, especially the roasted whole sea bream. The service was cheerful, prompt and efficient, and together with the quality of the food and atmosphere, it all added up to a great evening.

We enjoyed the excellent choice of food dishes. Everything was very tasty and well cooked. Good choice of wine. Welcome friendly. Good value for money.

food and service as usual very good unfortunately a new waiter not so effiiant and caused a upset of drinks over the table and my wife's cardigan had to change tables and a not so good a table as this was my birthday party it did not go too well

The staff were very welcoming and the food was very good value. They gave complimentary water which was a nice touch.It is certainly worth visiting again.

Lovely food and super staff. Brilliant. Meal with mother, she is almost 90 and loved it. Good location, in centre of Brewery Square, vibrant and fun.

Food average, not particularly hot. Staff unfriendly, inconvenient irritation showed when we asked for our hot drinks after we had eaten our breakfast. So miffed at having a 12 1/2% gratuity automatically added to the bill in exchange for rudeness!

Good service but very noisy. Food ok but could have been better. Staff friendly. Maybe not the best choice for quiet meal for two on a weekend.

Great service and food, pleasant location in Brewery Square. All good. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful. Will certainly return. Steak frites is excellent.

Clean and welcoming decor. Food was generally very good however my potatoes were just lukewarm. Felt rushed, one course was cleared the next was immediately in front of us. Be nice to have some time in between. Our waitress was quite abrupt in her manor. No rapport or attentiveness. As service charge is already added I expect better service.

Excellent service, great atmosphere and the anniversary menu was lovely. We would fully recommend we had a fabulous evening. Service was not rushed and the staff very friendly

Food was reasonable and the Dorchester staff were friendly and attentive. This is an unexceptional chain of restaurants working to a corporate formula and menu. It's dependable.

Cheerful staff who are well trained and responsive. If you need a quick meal it comes but if you want to relax and stay longer that's fine too. Good choice and healthy too.

Very pleasant experience. Good food and excellent customer service. The early evening menu provides good value for money. Certainly would recommend. Also menu offers dishes to suit all tastes.

Always a pleasure to go there staff very good & always seem to remember their regular customers which gives that extra touch will definitely be going back

Better food than a michlen star restaurant great staff and cheap been twice this year will be back soon and good children food to just need children dessert not just adult

A clean dining room, and terrace. Friendly, attentive staff. Well-cooked, and presented food. We eat there regularly. I can recommend for, either a quick snack, or a full meal.

Always excellent food and service here, our first choice in Dorchester as also convenient for local cinemas. Last night the service was slower than usual, but OK. It is however very noisy in here as there are no soft furnishings to absorb sound, also a bit chilly with air con?

Repeat visits never disappoint - always a friendly welcome, good service, freshly prepared food from regularly changed A la Carte or daily specials menus. First choice when eating with friends.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening, all meals chosen were delicious. We were also given space to catch up with just the right amount of attention by staff.

Nice food, good choice, very tasty, quick service, pleasant atmosphere. Drinks, I ordered an elderflower - got served a shot of cordial with ice and lemon!!!

Very busy restaurant for early evening set menu. Three courses and good house wine make for excellent value for money. Excellent service from hard working staff.

I really like going to Cote Dorchester and even went on Friday night. Unfortunately the duck dish on the Special menu was not available otherwise a good evening

Another excellent meal with plenty of choices on the menu which changes regularly. Service was very good and the staff friendly, especially considering the restaurant was busy.

Nice lunch with a friend. Waiter was helpful and efficient, it was boiling hot and we were sitting outside so he moved us to a more shaded area when another table became free. Food was good, we ate off the two course special lunchtime menu which was good value.

Thank you for a lovely meal. I had the heritage tomato salad which was superb. It was great to see the mussels back on the menu. Great service too

Great service. Great food. Our second visit in the last three months. Would certainly recommend. Food choice was varied and good value. We look forward to visiting again.
